I think Oldham is a complete toilet. However, this made me proud as an Oldham fan. This is despite the fact that some of the Oldham players who used to come into our nightclub in Oldham and used to act like immature chimpanzees until finally they were given the bum's rush by the doormen.
I was at this game at main road. I was 9 and always remember Denis Irwin smashing the crossbar from a free kick and having a great game for Oldham. The season after Fergie signed him.
What everybody has to remember is back then cup football was nearly 90% of the football that was shown on tv, so it was so much more significant having a good cup run.
Wow United looked quite shaky at the back... no wonder Fergie was under so much pressure, but he still had that something special about him... [bringing on Robins- the match winner]
I remember feeling gutted that Nick Henry's goal wasnt given. This is why i am glad i dont support a team any longer, i just cant handle the emotions, they always go against the lesser teams, its such a shame.
typical utd tinted glasses view. Utd could get twated 4-1 at home by Liverpool and fergie and the sky reds would still say they were the better team....oh they already have...
Like Stonerose, I was wondering were Nick henry's shot had gone from these highlights? Hit the underside of the bar and deffo crossed the line, strange that!
i remember mark hughes goal...i was in australia best man at a mate's wedding and my team oldham get to Wembley..!!! so i got tickets for my mum/dad and rang them after the match and my mum swore for the first time in her life and said that "Bloody" mark hughes...i nearly fell off the chair..!! i was at maine road for the 3-3 draw we should have beaten them then as well..!!
you clearly know nothing about football, and so must retreat into cliche. there was no controversy in this game regarding the referee - you are just a bitter yonner.
oh well, that settles it then. it was clearly a fix. was he in the oldham dressing room as well? as from where i was stood it was the oldham defence that let robins in to score the winner not the ref. BIFFO.

Mattyredman! Where's Nick Henry's disallowed goal??? We demand to know why it's missing from these extended highlights?
On another note - I hate Mark Robbins. Fergie must love him though because, by scoring that goal, he saved Fergie's Manchester utd career.

Poor Oldham, denied by Man utd's 12th man (the referee) again,it just goes on,and on and on.

Remember this match very well and Oldham were so unlucky to lose, but that's Man utd for ya,always have the ref in their back pocket.

Ferguson was in the referee's dressing room at half time, not too many people knew that at the time,so there.

erm Nicky Henry's goal in the replay that hit the bar and bounced down behind the line, however is mysteriously missing from this video post.

Interesting editing. Where's Nick Henry's shot that hit the bar, bounced over the line and the perfectly -placed ref waves play on? Censorship.
