a stimulus check won't work because we're in this recession because people mainly cannot pay their bills, if congress gives us money to help stimulate the economy, we won't put the money into the economy, we will use it to pay off our debt, not go out and buy stuff to help the economy.

@bob0wonder The stimulus package did work. It saved over 3 million jobs from being lost and gave the economy some stability. The problem is that the stimulus package wasn't big enough and now the effect of the Keynsian multiplier brought on by the stimulus package is wearing off, hence this double dip recession everyone is predicting these days.

Has anyone done the math on the Stimulus package? The $819 Billion to create 4 million new jobs equals $209,000 per job????? now does that not sound a little high to you? That's because included in the "stimulus" package is hundreds of Billions of wasteful spending.

Give me a break. Which Obama are you listening to? For example, He told us that "Only Government" can get us back on track economically. Twenty days later, at a business meeting, he tells the business leaders that they are the only ones that can make it work. Who do we believe.
