Can identify with most of this after 31 years mostly in a Max. But where I work in WI we have stood together well from top to bottom because we had good system to work out fair solutions at a local level. That is all at risk now because we are caught up in politics. It is not about the money. My heart goes out to the family and co-workers of Jaymie Lee in WA and the too many that fallen before. Can identify with most of this after 31 years mostly in a Max. But where I work in WI we have stood together well from top to bottom because we had good system to work out fair solutions at a local level. That is all at risk now because we are caught up in politics. It is not about the money. My heart goes out to the family and co-workers of Jaymie Lee in WA and the too many that fallen before. We almost had it happen a few weeks ago.

We took a job that the public doesn't want to admit exists, and when they have to they refuse to thank us.We took a job that most people won't take, and we did it because it needs doing. No other reason. COs are a very rare breed. I've had lots of people, including Police officers, tell me they could never do my job. It's not fun, its not supposed to be.

The job is utterly thankless, except for the paycheck which they are going after by ignoring our contractually agreed upon and guaranteed raises which do not keep up with the cost of living.
In my state, we don't have chart bitches but we do have superintendant's picks and other "kids". Same idea.

What a true video, I've worked in corrections for 5 years. This video was def made by a co at the prison I work at.. Or maybe all prisons are like this. Either way its bullshit the way we get treated by the public, our superiors and the inmate population. People need to remember when they are so worried about the inmates rights and how mean the cos are that we put an application in to be there, its not always poor inmates. They are there for a reason and so are we.... Ours is just a good one

With the exception of the mention of sergeants - we don't have them - this is the Bureau in a nutshell. By the way, brothers - if you don't have too much time in to go fed, do so - same job, better pay (except in CA and maybe one or two other places). I was once coated in shit from boots to hat, and been treated by medical staff like it was my fault - it was the closest I ever came to becoming an inmate myself. Fuck everybody else (excluding SOME military guys) who bitch about their jobs!
