  • this is making me hungry.

  • i've tried this recipe two times already, with different yet awesome results. thanks a lot for sharing the knowledge !!!!

ps: you don't need corn starch. I used flour, which is wheat starch and the result is the same (reducing)

  • I made this recipe, and I think that was too much sweet :s

Maybe it was my mistake, when I was putting the suggar hehe.

By the way, greetings from Brazil o/

  • i like pineapple in my sweet and sour,i use red onions, just red pepper and carrot to give red to yellow specrum of colour, looks sweet!

  • i love pineapple in sweet and sour pork

  • We call them "paprika" in Sweden too :)

  • @Sarisfaction84 that's odd. It's similar to the Swedish word for petrol referring not to petrol, but petroleum ether. It's the subtle tidbits like that which can make things interesting.

  • I just made this for dinner. Thank you so much for the recipe, it tastes delicious!

  • the voice at the beginning reminds me of cookie monster...

  • You are bit crazy but I like your cooking :0) xxx

  • we also call them paprika in czech :D

  • Crazy customer+ Runny's food= Less Crazy and Full Customer

  • Is corn starch essential to give the sauce thickness?

Is it something i'll need to have on my counter?

  • @Jamsessionroom1337 if you dont have cornstarch. You can use a thickener called ''white washed'' mix in a small bowl 1 tlb all purpose flour and 1.5 tlb room temp or cold water then slowly while add to whatever sauce you are trying to thicken then stir. if sauce is not thick enough after a few minutes then repeat the same process. never add to much at one time other wise your sauce will become pastelike or too thick

  • lol we in hungary call all kinds of capsicum 'paprika' :)

  • Hi, runny, can i ask if there's any substitute for sake ? best if it doesnt contain any alcohol, because i'm planning to cook this for my home economics exam, and they don't allow any alcohol ingredients. please ! urgent !

  • @suverlover white grape juice is kinda the same lol hope i helped c:

  • Now we know why his chopsticks are black all the time xD

  • I'll try to make it tomorrow.

It looks easy. I love sweet and sour foods specially the sauce.

  • What kind of Sake do you use in most of your videos?

  • We call it Paprika in Holland too :) Funny!

  • wat can we substitue for sake?

  • @nancychanga there's a note at the top that says you can use white wine if you don't have sake..or you don't have to use any liquor at all

  • i tried this yesterday and it was amazing !

  • I love sweet and sour pork! ^_^ and I love pineapple in it too~

  • wow that looks really delicious!

  • You spilt it while trying to flip the food but you still did better then I did x] haha thanks Runny =]

  • is it ok if i made it without mirin (rice vinegar)?

  • @gildamuten ofcourse it makes a difference, it's called sweet and sour pork and not just sweet pork, and btw. mirin is a japaneese alcohol similiar to sake but a lot more sweeter and vinigar is what you want to use to make it sour

  • I've hated those

  • You make it look so easy. Looks delicious.

  • Is there a chance if adding SAKE is necessary or not?

  • OMG I can't look at this! I will get fat like a pig! xD

  • this is actually a chinese food hee hee

  • @christine180298 lol yes that is exactly what i thought when i saw this haha

  • Happened to have the ingredients for this at home and finally cooked something for the first time from runny's channel! Except I used chicken and didn't deep fry it - tried for a little bit healthier version. It was YUMMY! Can't believe how simple this is to make - thank you Runny :)

  • oh Shitty Wok guy would be proud

  • If you can't successfully make this, there's a serious problem with you!

  • The beginning part freak me out! For a sec I was like" wait...is this a wrong video?! It's suppose to be a cooking video, but instead it's a guy in a weird suit!" lmao

  • @jessie rice vinegar is a vinegar made from rice that's why they called it rice vinegar and not palm vinegar.

  • We call it paprika in Norway, too. :D

  • @despairia same here, in Chile :)

  • what do you mean my rice vinegar

  • Hahaha i knew it would look legit if an asian did it! :D i saw a video with an American chef do it (no offense) it didn't look authentic in anyway... She didn't get the thickness of the sauce which I think is essential to this dish, very good job, loved the video, this reminds me when i lived in Singapore. :)

  • I just cooked this literally 5 minutes ago, it's delicious and tastes just like the chinese takeaway. By the way you don't need sake for the pork batter, I didn't use it and it worked out just fine. I only added two tablespoons of sugar for the sauce though, don't want it too sweet. The only thing is, it doesn't make much sauce, everything is just coated in a sticky glaze. I added a bit more water so I could have extra sauce.

  • that's the simplest recipe I've seen. Good job!

  • ぜひ作ってみます!

  • Love your recipes.

  • No rice?!

  • You made this look so easy - Im gonna try it.

  • xD You're so cute!

    Thank you for the videos!

  • Whats on his head?

  • I made it with carrots instead of bellpeppers, and chicken instead of pork. Best meal I've made so far. Thank you runny. :)

  • Can I do it without Sake? Does it taste good anyway?

  • @jimmypageledzepp NO! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!

  • I made this last weekend. It was yummy! ^^

  • You are frank in order to broadcast even the scene that you had spilt the dish.

    -

    料理をこぼしたシーンさえ放送してしまうところが潔いです。

  • I admire the way asians put so much time and care into preparing food. Us westerners' can't cook like them.

  • @supermansakic Speak for yourself,Hombre!

  • aaha his reaction at first when he took a bite made it look like he hated it

  • tried! WONDERFUL!!!! ;D

  • What is sake.. ):

  • @MsWolfinden Sake is a Japanese alcoholic drink made from fermented rice~ im to young to drink it :P

  • @brianblue31 haha ahh okay.. Then I don't thinks its THAT nessecary.. :p.

  • I just made it and used chicken instead, and my whole family LOVED it. I'll make a video of my mom and I cooking it again on Saturday.

  • "I made pork for you so dont BLEEEEP me"

    wasnt expecting that runny o_O

  • I have discovered that if you don't have rice vinegar or can't find it, plain old white vinegar seems to work just fine.

  • the guy in the beginning sounds like an angry cookie monster lol

  • i just made this for lunch atm ! it`s so simple and easy , i had all the ingredients already . my mom made the most randomest mix for the pork , but like u said you just show the basics and then we can add little adjustments to make it our own . • here's a tip of how to flip your food with your pan. Gesture your hand like your giving a handshake. Hold your pan out so your wrist meets your elbow. Then using your wrist, motion it down, forwards, then up. Like this ---> ( start slow, and then work your way. Your food should cycle itself.
