Doesn't it seem odd that so much significance should be invested in these events. Choosing delegates for a nominating convention in two small states? Why is it so portentous?
representative governments are full of compromises. the idea is to have smaller states have a voice in the selection of nominees and have the larger states influence the final choice. this way smaller states won't feel "steam rolled" by the larger states and the smaller states can have a say in our political process.
Who are these pollsters, and why should we trust them? They are excuses to justify ignoring certain candidates who the polls' owners, big media, don't like. Polls also make it easier to steal elections because, invariably they are neck and neck at election day. Presidential polls are lies.
Poll this, poll that, please tell me what to think. Polls are more effective at shaping outcomes than predicting them. Learn about sample sizes, question techniques, and who pays for all these polls. Hey, did you hear, it's going to be cloudy tommorrow. I wonder how that will impact the race? Which candidate can capitilize on the condensation of water vapor? Better do another poll...
Paul's Campaign is shocked FOX PLANS TO EXCLUDE RON PAUL from the New Hampshire debate on Jan 6th.
They're doing this even though Ron Paul has more signs around NH and has raised more money this quarter than other candidates.
Please call Fox at 1-888-369-4762 and/or email foxnewsonline@foxnews(dot)com and ADVISE THEM YOU'LL NEVER WATCH THEIR NETWORK AGAIN IF THEY PULL THESE INSANE BS.
They want to choose the Presidental candidate rather than the public.
Josh, I normally find your commentary pretty accurate but I gotta challenge you when you say Huckabee is "starting to flame out." I think lots of current poll would contradict that.(Not that I'm a Huckabee supporter, just making a point).
if mccain wins then you know for sure that its rigged, the guy is a warhawk,70 something percent of americans want this war to end but somehow myteriously the warhawk mccain now has a good chance of winning! yeah right!
The media loves whichever CFR candidate has the best chance of winning. Because if CFR member Hillary wins, they win, if CFR member John McCain wins, they win. And America and its freedom loses!
Interesting that he didn't mention Huckabee. I thought he was in the lead in Iowa and New Hampshire. I guess it depends on what polls your looking at.
I think it would be wiser for McCain to go for Colin Powell if he wins, particularly if he runs against Obama. On the Dem side, it would be best to have a Obama/ Biden ticket. They are the only ones that can get some votes off the Rep Base. In reality though, McCain and Romney's VP candidate would most likely be Brownback and Obama would most likely take Chuck Hagel as VP. Clinton's motive are less clear but she most likely would choose Bill Richardson..
Why assume the ticket has to be two of the current Dem nominees? I would say a Obama/Jim Webb ticket would pick off way more republicans. Remember - James Webb was Secretary of the Navy under Reagan and can blow any republican nominee out of the water from a military experience perscpective.
Colin Powell? Look, if McCain wanted to destroy Hillary and Obama in one move he'd pick *Condoleeza* as his running mate. NO ONE would challenge that ticket.
No! She would be destroyed! She is not loved by the left and loved not enough by the right and center. Colin Powell is the darling of the center and respected by both far right and left. Plus he is the hero of many soldiers when he defined a new style of logistics based warfare, a style can match Maharbal crossing the Alps... (You need to be in the army to understand that..)
Hannibal was the general; Maharbal was the one in charge of Logistics and calvary under Hannibal and it was he and his men that was tasked to come up with ways to cross the Alps... But saying that Hannibal crossing the Alps is not wrong either.
who the fuck is voteing for mcain or romney I mean come on ffs america wtf is wrong with you fucking people. WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD VOTE THESE FUCKING SCUM IN ...........
Thanks to the whoring media, of course. I guess hardly anyone includes the 58,000 people who donated over 6 million to his campaign in one day, or the 37,000 who donated 4.3 million in one day. Yeah, hardly anyone knows about him. Only those who pay attention.
so because 1 out of ever 5200 people in this nation donated money to him, you can call that excitement? you are right, only those who pay attention to him are the one who know anything about him.
get over it, ron paul doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell. give it up and support a different candidate.
Yeah, 1 out of every 5200 people, most of whom don't vote. I'll only support a candidate who I can trust, whether or not he or she eventually wins.
Fact is, Ron Paul is generating excitement in a great many new voters, who will show up to vote in primaries. His results will be bigger than expected, although he is a long shot.
Josh Marshall is a journalist who covers a WIDE variety of topics (including Ron Paul; see his post at TPM yesterday afternoon which is relevant here). Sorry that he doesn't meet your requirements of 24/7 RP obsession.
Besides, this video is discussing the frontrunners. While RP may have lots of money, he is still not registering in polls, is way down there with Alan Keyes. Unless or until he does well in Iowa, he's not worth mentioning.
I would much rather see McCain be nominated over Romney or Giuliani. He at least is relatively genuine as opposed to fake or a thug. Up until 9/11, McCain was much more independent and moderate than he was partisan. Since then though, he has been a disappointment. His principled stand against torture, bucking the GOP's wishes, is one of the few reminders of the man he used to be.
I feel like Im watching a sports show or something. How could anyone vote for that romney guy? I hope people educate themselves a bit and consider the candidates rationally and based on their policy. Lets prove to the world that were not dumb asses!
VOTE RON PAUL and end this fiasco.

TPM, we all know that polls are made up of 1,000 people at best with some ( like Paul ) not even put into Polls so the poll is not even close to fair.

Of the 13 polls that comprise the total Dec. NH GOP, the sloppy average of participants is 477.
October holds a poll with 1082 participants by a strange news agency called InsiderAdvantage.
