Seems different to see the extra 2 guitar players and drummer on the set, but more power to them, I am sure they are enjoying the view of the two works of art right in front of them, they may be having difficulty concentrating on hitting the right notes....

Rap supports falsehood? What an ignorantly paranoid remark. Rap is merely a stylistic approach at the mercy of it's exploiter. Some of the most scathing truth has been wielding by rap artists, and some of the most obnoxious misinformation and bigotry has been unleashed by genres like rock and pop. Ever hear a charming old country tune called "Coon town"?
How about the startlingly honest rap classic: Fear Of a Black Planet?
Remember the fashion back then. It's so easy to make fun of it now, but how do we dress, even if it's just jeans and our hairstyles? 20 yrs from now we might laugh about that. Abba was quite amazing by pop music standards, I think. They wrote it all, perhaps even produced it. Anyone know?
Yes they were and are amazing, Chocolate. When you think here's a group that is not even together anymore, playing and they have acquired more and more fans! Fans who were not even alive when ABBA was touring. Bjorn and Benny put it all together. The girls were no lightweights either. Check out their DVD "Super Troupers" 30 years of music. They go into answering a lot of yer questions. Pretty kewl stuff. Music too, wooohoooo.

Maybe I should run up the main street of a century completely nude, except for an awesome cape. I'm sure it would get "attention".
Why do people resort to "popularity" to prove a point? A trillion flies munch on dog poo every day. I'm not about to try it. The most popular thing on Youtube is a retard called "Fred", so no, bad taste as popularity doesn't mean much to me.
ABBA's music has some decent aspects, but as a visual aesthetic? Eep, disaster. Brilliantly funny disaster.
Ever notice how some people think there's an 11th commandment?
Thou shalt not criticize.
Criticism makes the world great. Ever listen to christian music? You know why christian rock is all crap? Because their feelings are nursed by the lack of standards. They so busy accailming anything that mentions Jesus, and being inclusive of anyone who has a go, that they don't DISCRIMINATE. And with no natural means to weed the garden, you get lots of crappy music, where once, was Beethoven

It's a point of view. Get over it or join a theocracy. The lyrics of sophomoric dribble. The music is decently composed pop-rock pandering, that well accomodates it's drippy lyrics. The outfits are unironic disasters. And the world is all the better for keeping the fashion police employed. And all the better for ABBA. The visual aspect is unremittingly b-grade. Fantastically so. Maybe you're craving for attention by rubbing shoulders in the spheres of fandom. Rationale is dissectable. Beware.
A point of view you seem to want to be the dominant view here jerkboy. You get over yerself already.
ABBA was good!!! Their costumes were of the time and their lyrics were of a sweeter, gentler time.
Something that is obvious ---you have never experienced this kind of fun, carefree, kinder reaction to the music......move on pissant. Let ABBA fans share their love of the band here. Go find yerself a radical christian club and rock yerself into unconsciousness!
I don't actually give a shit what view is dominant. You're making false associations. The Monkees made fun and carefree bullshit too. You aren't educated in whatever my reactions to music are. I just know the difference between a writer, and a B-grade writer. These lyrics are dreck. Why would I join a rad bible bashers club? Most incoherent statement yet.
There is no such thing as "was" good. It either IS good, or it was never good.
"Oh I'm feeling Blue, I don't know what to do". Obviously a poet laureate's first choice of words. The most concession you'll get from me, is that on the whole, due to the highly functional composition it works pretty well as a whole. Plenty of artists can admit that the missed the mark drastically in costumes. Prince wrote one of the greatest "pop" albums ever assembled by human hands (Purple Rain), and even he's adorned himself in some garsh get up.

The music isn't terribly ingenuitive or compelling, but it's affable enough. The lyrics do fit the tone and effect of the music, but that victory is only half the battle in the war of truly great work.
As a random suggestion, something like Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here wins the war. The words fit beautifully, while attaining legend status as poetry unto itself.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Saying that the music is of a "sweeter, gentler" time, is a completely empty statement. It speaks to it's "style" but says nothing of it's substance or it's excellence. Assertion by false association.
And seriously, the dude has a sparkle guitar. Hendrix had been around near half a decade by this time, marking a greater embarrassment for it all. A SPARKLE GUITAR! If you can't see the eternal lame in that, then this conversation is fruitless (Which it is, anyway).
The 70s wernt that innocent . Girls wore no bras ON T.V. ! Try and find that now . It wont happen . Look at her Snake skin jumpsuit.....way ahead of its time . It came into style just about 8 years ago and still is .
No worries. You had to have been there to know that. Fortunately I was! ABBA always wore really strange and crazy clothes but so did KISS, Elton John and lots of others in the 70''s, but ABBA was always over the top of almost every other band when it came to bizarre stage clothes!
They are great hey. This is not the version on the Ring Ring album though. This is in a lower key. Listen to some of the other versions here (I think) and you should find "that classic ABBA sound" - in a much higher key so it sounds, and was, more vocally challenging but sounds brighter and shows off the girls voices more, if but a little shrill. Love Abba ! :)
Ya know, I like abba as much as the next person, but that guitar players outfit is so fay. Yah I know that this is the 70's and all but is that guy wearing eye makeup??
