  • Those are some happy cats. The one at around 5:20, is it a Spanish Lynx?

Thanks for everything you guys do. I just wish sanctuaries like yours weren't needed anymore.

  • @Senashenta Nope that is a caracal :)

  • Just like for we humans - here comes the grocery truck with our food!!!

  • what kind of cat is gracie? what a vicious growl she has

  • @TrannyBoiJacob Grace is an ocelot :) She makes this noise when she's excited etc... does sound scary though!

  • WOW i really wants to work there cause i love Big Cats

  • Interesting choice of musical soundtrack!

  • How big is Gracie?? She looks about the size of my house cat (granted, my house cat is big though). Sounds like my house cat when she has something she shouldn't and I try to take it from her too!

  • You're probably about right there she's probably around 15-18lbs or so. Scary/weird noise she makes hey?

  • I was wondering, do the house cats (domesticated) ever go near the big cats? and are you ever worried about their safety?

I am probably 100% sure they wouldn't go near these big cats due to their sheer size and would be more cautious, but it's something im dying to know!

  • Hi, we only have a few domestics on the property and they have been with us for many years so they no the rules better than most! They stay behind the barricades - smart idea :)

  • lol that's good! and a very smart idea :)

It's nice to see them walking around the sanctuary and being around the big cats.

  • I am curious, what is the most common reason these big cats must be rescued?

  • Probably about 50% of our cats were former "pets" that people soon get fed up with when they grow too big and cost a fortune to keep and hate the owner! Then we have cats rescued from breeding facilities, fur farms, ex circus cats and even a lioness that was seized in a drug raid of someone's house!

  • That black cat wasn't a jaguar, was it? It looked smaller than the pumas.

Do they ever get injuries from the ribs? Like sharp splinters in their digestive tracts?

Why don't you give the larger cats whole deer carcasses from hunters and roadkill?

  • No we only have black leopards at the sanctuary. Cats have a way of protecting themselves against sharp splinters etc... they basically eat grass to make themselves vomit the ball of fur/bones up so it won't damage them internally! We don't feed them roadkill etc.. as we never know how the animal was killed it could of been poisoned, plus they can be infected with ticks and other stuff we don't want to bring onto the property.

  • But it would save you a bunch of cash..

Infection or poison? Hardly possible, anyway - what is the most common infection a cat like puma can get from a tick anyway if it eats a roadkill?

  • Not really we don't get many people driving up to the sanctuary with roadkill in their truck. It's just not practical, would be time consuming to prepare, it's unprofessional and we just don't want to take that risk, that someone as placed poison in a carcass that don't agree with us and what we are doing and are trying to kill our cats.

  • Cats can eat grass?

My dog sometimes eats grass then he vomits

I was wondering why. Does it clean out there stomich

  • Yes, this is common in cats and dogs of all sizes! It's basically a mechanical function for the cats, they eat grass to make themselves throw up! This is when they can feel bones /hair etc in their gut that they don't want to risk going through their system so they throw it up to protect themselves :)

  • BigCatRescue, you are so great I'm gonna try to convince my sister to donate money to you.

  • Thanks for your support, sorry about the late reply!

  • great job guys? are the big tigers frm india? or frm siberia?

  • Hi, the biggest sub species of tiger is the siberian, thanks for watching!

  • I love y'alls videos. But I would lose the cheesey music. You really don't need it because your stories are interesting. The music is distracting, actually. But that's just my opinion.

  • You guys really go the extra mile to enrich the lives of your cats. Great Job!

  • JazzGuy4, we try to. Thankfully we have an amazingly dedicated staff and volunteer staff as well as dedicated supporters. Together that makes it all possible.

  • And BTW, if you do inoculate your cats against any types of infections, then why are you so afraid? There must be some most common infections from which you sure have the precautions and vaccines..

  • whats at 3:40? I thought that cat was a panther.

  • WildWind1295, the cat at 3:40 is a black leopard. Sometimes black leopards are mistakenly identified as cougars or panthers. What is your favorite cat?

  • What's at 4:00? I thought that that was a panther.

  • WildWind1295, the cat at 4:00 is also the black leopard.

  • two questions?? do you guys play with the cats?? or its too risky?? and two do they playa each other?? i mean tigers with lions and with the rest of the cats??? thank and its great what are you doing keep doing!!!

  • Osago, we do not play with them by going inside their Cat-A-Tats(yards). We do not hug them or pet them. We do provide them with enrichement toys and activities. Once in a while if a specific cat seems to want it a volunteer will sit outside the cat's Cat-A-Tat(yard) and talk to them or just sit there. Yes, the cats do play with each other. Some of the cats like being with other cats and do play together.

  • What are the cats at 3:20?

  • WildWind1295, the cats at 3:20 are cougars. They are also called other names such as Puma, Panther, Mountain Lion, Catamount, America's Lion.

  • do the wildcats eat every part of the ribs or do you have to go out and collect bones?

  • WildWind1295, sometimes one and sometimes the other.

  • ocelots are cute!!

  • WildWind1295, Ocelots are beautiful. They are also very interesting to learn about.

  • to a tiger's strong jaws I guess a bone is like a potato chip!

  • CatMan0111, in the wild they eat bones, too.

  • very cool video good job

  • KLT89, THANK YOU!

  • We just went on a tour this past Wednesday! What a cool experience! I wish we got to see the lion roar, though...he was too busy sun bathing with his girlfriend. We highly recommend taking a tour!

  • AnnasHouse, THANK YOU for your wonderful comment! THANK YOU for visiting! Did you get any souvenirs?

  • tigers rule!!

  • what kind of cat species is Gracie? She's cute but she sounds really dangerous.

  • Gracie is an Ocelot.

  • What breed of wildcat is Gracie? She's pretty, but she sounds really dangerous.

  • What breed is Gracie?

  • male lion should close his mouth while chewing lol...

  • ChanDeep12, LOL, okay YOU tell him that although I doubt he'll obey. He kinda does what he wants to do. THANK YOU so much for watching and commenting.

  • WHY DOES EVERYONE THINK THE LION IS NuMBER1 CAT

its a fact that the tiger is number1

    its longer... bigger...

    and feasts on croc's

    ;p

  • i know it drives me insane when people think thta lions are better well FUCK U ALL WHO THINK THAT LIONS ARE BETTER

  • Here at Big Cat Rescue we love all the cats and work toward a better life for all of them. Thank you for watching and caring about the cats.

  • I love all the big cats. Each specie has such unique characteristics. I found them all interesting to study.

  • Wrong the Tiger is only longer but not bigegr , and the lion is more aggressive and more powerful he is born to fight !

  • It makes me happy to know someone cares about Wild Cats. I am a big Cat lover. My favourite Cat is the Tiger. It would be good if you had Liger there. You know what they are, there the Biggest Cat in the world, although Tigers are the largest purebreed Cat. A Liger is obviously a cross between a Lion and a Tiger. I think Tions look the same but are a bit smaller. I haven't seen a Tion on TV before.

  • THANK YOU for caring, have you visited our website? Tigons are generally very unhealthy and are very different than ligers. On our website there are sections teaching about both of those. Drop by and read about them.

  • Sure, I'll have a look just now.

  • at around 3:15 I have a quick question about the cougars. Do all three of them share a single rib? I felt sorry for the 3rd cougar who was hanging out while his siblings munched on the rib together at around 3:23.

And these are typical cow ribs? I never reliazed they were so huge!

Thanks again for the vid, you already know I love it :D

  • They are cow ribs and we give them out usually once a week. When given to the three cougars, each cat gets its own treat :)

  • This is a great video! I love watching these great animals munch on food. Looks like the big cats were enjoying those huge ribs, I can relate. Can't say the same for the rats!

    Keep these eating vids coming!

  • Do they ever pitch their food right back out of the enclosures while playing with it?

  • Sometimes the smaller cats like the servals will fling a rat so hard it falls outside the cage, but they often just reach out and pull it right back in. Thanks for watching the video :)

  • They sure do play with their prey with vigor! Afraid my daughter wouldn't care for that part though, she has 2 pet white rats! (Of course though she understands that's what some animals eat)

  • It's sad, the fact that they have to live in enclosed pens. They should be able to live in the wild where they came from, bt when we think we can have them as pets, this is what happens to them. They don't deserve this. Thank you B.C.R. for caring about them.

  • Thanks Big Cat Rescue!!!

  • awesome vid

  • good vid

  • big cats are beautiful

    lions rule

  • Every night should be whole prey night. Bones should be not be meatless as this is just asking for problems such as impaction, perforation, etc. It would be more appropriate to serve a slab of meaty ribs or whole, meaty, bone in rump, or a whole head, etc...

  • From my experience carcass feeding seems to be the best staple food. It's messy but the animals get all of the vitamins naturaly (meat, bones, organs, ect; and they also really enjoy tearing into the carcasses. It's also really important to give them variaty (deer, goat, chicken, ect.)

  • @savannahcatz You have the poor judgment to breed savannah cats (though I bet it pays your mortgage, never mind about the welfare of this problematic hybrid, that's not a factor for many like you) and yet the nerve to criticize this rescue? You've GOT to be kidding me. Shame on you.

  • just amazing.

  • errrrm... ummm... nice song selection! Boy George ehehe...

    Tigers rule!

  • Beautiful! Thank you!

  • Queen!!!

  • i like wat ur doing..saving the animals....i love tigers....good

  • There paws are the size of my chest, there fuckin tanks!

  • Big Cat Rescue seems to be the best organization for the preservation of tigers--It's great to see a place where these animals are valued for more than their bodies..

  • How cute these tigers are

  • rib crushing experience.. big thanks for the job well done scott!

  • Man... tigers are huge damage dealers. Many books and events state tiger occasionally kill elephants and rhinos.

  • save them all! great job

  • i like aniamals

  • I'm a big/small cat lover and had not even heard of you guys! I will check out your web.For others concerned, look up the 8-page article cover story"Nowhere to Roam" in the august 23,2004 "Saving the Big Cats" issue of 'TIME' magazine.Thanks!!Peace.

  • We visited this place back in 2004. It is awesome. You get about 3 feet from the cats. There's a small fence between their cages. Most of the cats were abused or abandoned pets. Highly recommended.

  • Aha! A serval! You guys seriously need to do a spotlight on those! My cats are both fascinated by these videos...one's sitting on the desk craning her neck, and the other is sitting in my lap. I think it's more the sounds and movement that catches their attention, but it's cute to think they're recognizing the images as other felines.

Anyways, keep up the great work, guys. You're doing a beyond wonderful thing. Much love <3

  • All catz rule espesialy tigers!!!XD

  • ohh, so cute predators

  • I am actually in the process of getting a degree in biology so I can do this! OMG I CAN'T WAIT! I have always thought tigers are the most amazing things in the world.

  • yay good job and keep on working!! ;P

  • He's a cute little kitty as long as you don't say it to the tiger directly in a mocking way

  • man i love u guys...bigcatrescue u own

  • I so need to visit your place.

  • This was awesome to watch! Thanks!

  • Thats awesome... Grace was 'killing' the rat, natural hunting behavior :) You have the best Job :)
