15 Pirouettes

It is a street spin, or hip hop spin, not a pirouette. Even the jazz pirouette is in a higher relevé. A flat footed turn toward the second half and the arm posturing of this is considered hip hop. The abdominal muscles in his spin are not engaged in the way a jazz or ballet pirouette would be. He could go longer if he had his shoulders pulled back and down.

Go see Alicia Clifton do 36 pirouettes. Of course her technique isn't perfect either, but the idea is to enjoy watching someone do something that is great instead of just trying to demean their achievement. As you may note, she has more than 100 dislikes, which only goes to show once again that it is impossible to please all of the people all of the time. Just keep on doing what you love!

Uhm... I have to disagree, it looks much more controlled and disciplined whenever you use proper technique. This also aids in stopping the spin more gracefully instead of just falling out of it... even if you do whip your arms (which Baryshnikov DOESN'T do in White Nights) you shouldn't do it to the point of where your body alignment becomes compromised: that IS one of the most important parts of performing a solid pirouette. P.S. Why do you fold your arms up at your chest?
