@khymlawrence looks like he went to throttle hold for sure, leveled it out. The fact that he smacked that tail lost it completely and was still able to get it head up and spin it down is amazing. Great response from way too many hours of serious flying. I wish I had just a hint of that kind of response time.
@ezbinden Of course it was not planned. You cannot just plan something like that. Hey, if It was luck, I would rather be lucky than good any day. He was able to recover because of the stick time he has.
@atakan196 He lost his tail rotor when he touched the strip, didnt loose control. If he had, that thing would have just crashed into a million pieces XD
@alexztyphoon you mean he saved his sponsors loads of cash, he don't pay for nuthin'. Anyway, a belt drive woulda probably been able to survive that hit and keep on flying.
i did the same thing with my raptor G2, went into inverted flight, tail rotor tagged the ground then i flipped it back over and the heli went towards me and i grab the skids, no crash, it was all OK,(except the tail).
@blackhawk438 lol, well if i didn't see the chance of grabbing my heli's skids as it came towards me, i would have just moved out of the way and prepared for the after math. No way will i let them blades come close to me, i do like my scar-less skin, lol.
You know what if the whole crash landing was planned and that won him the competition. I have to agree that was one hell of a save. Thats more than just skill.
looked like a setting was out, he made 3 fuck ups on collective as soon as he took off and started pirouetting either that or he just partied too hard the night before..
Definitely doesn't help doing a comp with a hang over lol, he's just lucky when he hit throttle hold to do the half piroflip to land it that it didn't boomstrike lol, My n9 did hah!
Normally you can´t save this. But he isn´t normal.
