  • I can see why one would use a boot cover when the top is down. It looks a lot neater and can hold everything in place.

  • oh my godd, what a pain! Glad I have a Miata.

  • Great! Thank you :-)

  • Great video.

  • this was a very big help, we lost our instructions that came with the soft top so we were pretty much clueless xD thank you! :)

  • Excellent instructional video. I watched this a few times, went out to my 2010 Wrangler Sport, and had the top down in under 5 minutes without help from another person. It took longer to sift through all of the non-helpful videos on here than it did to put the top down. Thanks for posting!

  • lol someone has to have a record of the fastest time of someone doing this..

looks like it would take a while to me.. not your standard convertible.. :)

  • @Jeeper143 How long does it take now?

  • It helps if the soft top has been in the sun for awhile. The heat makes the material stretch and thus it helps.

After two or three times it is much easier

  • Is this a 2007? Because if it is my son's does not have a snap when you put it on. Very helpful video.

  • Just bought a "New To Me" 2006 2dr Wrangler Sport - Soft Top. Never took top down but this video looks very useful. Is it possible to download this video to your hard drive?

  • @starstilla it all depends on what you need. I've only ever had a two door Wrangler, and I can say that before I bought a second vehicle for myself, there were times that I definately wished they made a four door one. But, honestly it all just depends on what you need it for, if you have a family, or ever need to hall anything, but a few grocery bags worth of stuff get a four door, it will be more convenient, but if its just for fun, i would say get a two door

  • I have been thinking about getting a wrangler. Should I get a 2 door or 4 door?

  • hard top would be faster and easier, but you need a place to store them. and keep a tarp if it starts to rain, i wouldnt mind the rain, its just water.

  • i thought it was just me but when you look at 3:08 into this video you can see another person helping this guy lift the top up. its not so easy to do by yourself (under pressure) with rain storm moving in.

  • @ntcbassman87 I've soooo been there :-) all part of the Jeep adventure.

  • think i might just go with a hard top...

  • Looks like a pain in the ass.

  • Is this the 2007 Wrangler? Or the 2009? I understand there are some differences between them, such as the lack of drip rail and a roll-up rear window.

  • @Jeeper143 then your doing it wrong idiot

  • the wrangler needs a power roof

  • I am completely inept when it comes to these kind of DIY things; I own a '08 Wrangler, but I gotta say: it's not that difficult - 10 minutes tops (even for me).

Criticism though...he is a cheating bastard: he has someone helping him (hidden) on the other side of the vehicle. ;)

  • You know what I love about my stock 2007 jeep wrangler? The terrible leaks it has developed, The extremely underpowered v6, The terrible & scary death wobble it has developed, The jeep dealer telling me there is nothing wrong with the suspension, The jeep dealer telling me there is no guaranteed fix for the leaking, But most of all, the $26,000 price...... awesome

  • This guy looks like Rudys older brother from the movie "Rudy"

  • OMG, i'm so confused.

  • this video fucking sucks

  • 2002-2004 model has the easiest top drop

  • @Jeeper143 or 3 very very dumb people... I put my windshield, top, windows, and doors on in under 30minutes today.

  • "Working from the rear". They fail to mention if you want to put the 'Sunrider' back to it's secure position you have to do the whole fucking procedeure.

  • dumb design for a 2010 vehicle jeep sucks

  • Jeep should really design a power top.....

  • this is for a tj wrangler right?

  • @Halfieful

    JK

  • Bought a rubícon 4months ago you will love your jeep. They go where no man has gone. I live overseas and drive in the jungle, water, rocks and on the beach. Enjoy! This vid is for the two door. I found It helpful.

  • Thanx just bought my jeep today

  • might just go with the freedom hard top.

  • can u leav the windows on ?

  • No you can not.

  • I'll leave the back window on in, in a rolled up position when I put the top down. It's heavier this way, but I'm 6'3" and able to manage it so as not to put extreme strain on the joints by reaching in to the center and lifting/supporting the entire assembly..

  • thanks this is a big help! i just bought a wrangler today so now i will know how to do this!

  • great info thanks

  • Holy shit, I've been looking into getting a Wrangler but this video has pretty much persuade me not to.

  • Thank you YouTube. The time/effort required is enormous. It really rules out using it in any context where weather changes rapidly. Seems like you choose your mode and hope to stay with it.

  • Thats hilarious ive had my jk for nearly a year and didnt realise it had sun rider LOL

    ........I Love Lamp

  • its actually much easier to start the zipper of the rear quarter windows while the top is half up...trying to get that zipper started when the top is laid flat like that and sort of tight makes for a real pain in the ass

  • man my jeep has this weird curve on the side window to tuck into the door rail. it's hard to get it tucked in, unlike the jeep in this video.

  • Very helpful video, just purchase a wrangler and this explains everything.

  • In the market for a soft top, so this is useful.

  • Would it be possible (is it possible) to have both hard and soft tops for the same Jeep? I have a hard top now and am looking on CL and such for soft top. What should I buy or need to buy to make both work? Thanks!

  • Yes it's possible to have two different tops. Go to Bestop's website and they will have everything you need.

  • Thanks!

  • thank you!! i recenty purchased a jeep wrangler and watching this video has helped tremendously! =}

  • great video! getting my wrangler soon and this is a big help
