A good lesson for all the Pharisees out there focused on cleaning the outside of your cup. The tie analogy was the best -- and a bow tie is even "prettier" LOL!
yep some things are made up. there are cultural norms in different places, some of which are a bit odd and probably unnecessary. there are also people who like to buck the system and cannot adhere to socially accepted norms for whatever reason.
the tie is quite practical, i use mine to stop dinner going on my shirts, but i like your idea of using it as a hanky, i will adopt this.
Legalism is any leading not of the freedom of being led by the Spirit. All laws need the flesh to be obeyed. You are free to look, do what you want, by liberty .BUT does it pass the Spirit led me test.Honestly most of are rebellion comes from how far can I test grace.Lets be led by the Spirit.
GarryF08,i like your view.Yahushua came not to just die for our sins but also to show us how to keep Yahuahs spiritual laws(Romans7:14)when we receive the Holy Spirit with salvation and now when we let the Spirit lead us in Yahuahs will(commands)then we are children of Yahuah(Romans8:14).After our sins are forgiven and we are a new creation(2Cor.5:17) now we have a choice whos gonna lead us,the flesh or the Spirit?(Romans8:1).
The necklace/ tie example is good, but could still be confusing. What laws ARE we supposed to obey? The Mosaic Law? What parts? (And what gives us the right to cherry-pick?)
What about the many commands that litter the NT? (Typical Evangelical Bible study consists of searching every verse for "Biblical principles", which are usually just laws under another name.) You say some of Pauls rules are contextual—but where do you draw the line?
I take it you were in the UPC. I was in that for almost 10 yrs. After reading some of Kenneth Hagin's books I finally saw the light. There is life after the UPC.
You are so right it is a relationship with our Lord. We can follow rules all our lives but if we do not have a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior, it will not matter what we wear or do not wear. Keep shinning for Christ dear sister. Have a blessed day in our Lord.
Its good to hear from a "real" Christian for a change. I think your missing the double-standard of evangelism though. Only the preacher and his wife can use makeup and jewelry...oh and all the young girls in the congregation are aloud, too. God likes them better cos they are beautiful people.
Hi ...you left a comment on my channel and i wanted to say hello.....wow love your video...i love makeup and jewery and also love the lord...the heart matters ..and so i love you ...love deb
to the people that believe in those rules, it would be gods rule, because its another belief. To the people on the outside that dont have the sae beleifs its man made rules. Whether its man made or god made rule, depends on the belief. Esspecially for scientoligists, to them its all man made rules.
Legalism can be so destructive and its Grace Killing. Often times it is allowed to continue because it is not confronted. Thanks for the video. I have many videos on this same topic. God Bless
Hey 2020, I like the beads and tie comparison, very nice. We've got a lot of legalists in the church today who demand that everyone else follow their ridiculous misinterpretations of the Scriptures. I run into a lot of what I call "music legalists", those who insist that only their favorite style of music be in the church. These kinds of people cause a lot of harm. The Bible teaches that by their traditions, they make the Word of God of none effect.
Well, it would help if everyone would put these issues back into their proper historical, linguistic and cultural context before enacting such strict measures (chumrah).
What do mean? rules are only rules if there strict. I dont understand the statement he is making religon is flaw for the reason that using it to reassure yourself your dieing is not What is he tryin to say in laymen terms
There exist Liberal and Conservative schools of thought in every belief system and group - including Atheism - just as there are Liberal and Conservative expressions in the politics of these groups and their belief systems. There are also Centrist & Extremist trends in the aforementioned. Creating divisions & sects.... That's what mankind does best, IMO!
He made the statment and i quote "...Issues back into there proper..." making it seem that the way we look at it different Smadewell i made that statement because im still not very sure what he means in it whats the point to it ?
2020hidesite spoke on the legalism of various dress & appearance codes that are foisted upon others as being obligatory for the sect &/or what God requires of all. I submit that such practices are either justified or invalidated by placing them back into their proper context. Can't wear jewelry!? Why & when was this said & by whom? Are cultural affectations &/or taboos necessary, relevant &/or meaningful? Are rituals & rules mnemonic &/or practical in nature or simply nonsensical & oppressive?

You are the first person, besides myself, who I have heard bring up the 'tie' for men, issue! There is no difference, whatsoever! Thanks for this~

It's amazing how people base their belief on Pauls wrttings rather than the words spoken by Christ Himself. Was Paul crucified for you?
Matt 19:17 " ...But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments."
John 15:10 "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, JUST as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love."
There is no disparity here! John was written about 90AD. The Gospels were meant to be instructional as well as acting as eyewitness accounts.
