its not a sequel, but capcom said "we need a lot more people buying the current version before we seriously consider a sequel"
i already have the wii version, i never got the ps2 one, but its an awesome game!
hopefully there will be a sequel!

I didn't know that until I finally got it. I never bothered to change it. I hope they do make a sequel though

Is this a perfect remake of the original for PS2 or a sequel/prequel/somehow different game?

Yeah, it's a pretty-much exact remake of the PS2 version.
Some things have been tweaked, like the parchment-effects, which have been removed in the Wii version, and some changes to the brush system.
But otherwise... same game.

AWESOME! I bought I have the PS2 version and had only 17 hours of gameplay into it. I bought the Wii version the first day it was in Gamestop. I play it religeously!

Okami isn't really a sequel but the same game with a new way to play. My sis owns this game and I let her play it on my system.
