Not really :o He's one of the legendary sanin remember? While training naruto Jiraiya fought kyuubi naruto too and survived. He was badly injured but that was probably because Jiraiya held back in fear of killing naruto. Orochimaru was one of the strongest guys in akatsuki and akatsuki capture and kill jinjurikies all of the time.
