I love this movie....the waiter nearly steals the show...

  • Classic, I never get bored and I always ROFL. One of my favs

  • he was good because his idiocy was convincing. not a lot of comics and actors understand that point or they simply fail at it.

  • This movie is marvellous... to be honest i pissed in my pants when i saw it the first time ;-)

  • Fantastic gem of a film. I remember my Mum and me watching this on Saturday morning TV and laughing ourselves sick, we'd never even heard of it when it was released. Even the way he walks makes me giggle. Peter Sellers = comic genius.

  • Steve Franken, who did such a great job playing the drunk waiter, had also played the role of "Chatsworth Osborne, Jr." on the Dobie Gillis TV series several years before this.

  • Just the words Birdie Num Nums makes me giggle

  • i remember when my dad first showed me this movie i wasnt sure if i would like it but it was so funny that i kept quoting it and no one had any idea what i was talking about. one of my all time favorites to this day. blake + peter = epic comedy

  • Peter Sellers is genius I love him so much ...I miss him R.I.P.

  • what about the cornish game hen/tiara scene?

  • ¨nothing to lose¨ song by claudine longet

  • Good bearings on that TP holder shaft, no?

  • at 9:11 how did he menage to do that?

  • When he puts the invitation on his foot to make it look like his shoe! CLASSIC!!! hahaha

  • This was a good choice for a 'best bits' video. But really ... the entire movie is the 'best bit'.

  • So, here's the deal. Bartolli Obama would nt look kinley upon you swindiddlers. Nelly Furtado rulz 4 lyfe. Here's where it's really at, you swashbucklng nincumpoops. Emphasis on the cum. Here'sa real gem you might enjoy. Alright Bill, take it away!

    BAMBOOZLED?!

    BILL COSBY LOVES SANDWICHES.

  • Es que.... de simple que es, se ríe uno, verdad?

    Julia Herrera

  • how cool is the decor!?

  • Pure comedy. Sellers and Edwards are golden. My top five movies. The opening scene would be the peak of most comedies. This one gets funnier.

  • @Situation29 All rich people work for their money. They never give any to their kids, and when they die, they make sure that any money left over doesn't remain in their family. No one has ever been born into a household of privilege, gone to expensive private schools, and not had to work because their family was wealthy. Parasites? Lazy? Handouts? Which circumstance is likelier to breed them? The one where everything is already provided, or the one where they have no choice but to work?

    a true masterpiece!

  • When I saw "The Party" for the first time, I was 12 years old and I was not aware of I was watching one of the best all-time comedians. Now I am

  • Is that toilet roll electric or something? Because in a house like that, I wouldn't be surprised.

  • i friggin love this movie!!

  • when I first saw this movie in the theater...everybody was laughing so hard...peopole were falling off their chair...and ..after it was over nobody wanted to leave the hall....

and still is good...Peter Sellers... the master....

  • Please remain connected to the telephone! :))))

  • lol that's the way fella, trash that rich bastard's house!

  • hollywood was a lot like this in the late 60's

  • Excuce this mess. It is very num nums!

  • one of my all time favs!!!!!

  • Great video, the silence adds to the humor

  • oh, man! the drunk waiter...!

  • the waiter's character is irresistible. Become more and more drunk and the mistaken he does are comparable with those of the protagonist! He gives his best during dinner (starting at 5:56) and together form a fabulous duo!

  • Wonderful, timeless movie :-)

  • Peter Sellers (RIP)

  • exactly panthr! and even if it does make fun of the indian, its hilarious, oh come on, its fun! nothing racial intended here. In fact this movie is a classic, and its brutally honest hhahahahaha ...this coming from an indian himself :P

  • needs more peter seller talking

  • the old Mr bean hahahah

  • Funniest movie ever!!!

  • ¿who is the actor performing the waiter? He is sublime. Also very cool the maid...

  • @expixi IMDb lists him as Steve Franken. And yes, he was wonderful.

  • I was in my teens when i say this movie, I remember laughing so much, that I cried. In fact I saw it again and again and every time I saw it I laughed till I cried. This was the first movie that I remembered when I heard that Blake Edwards had passed on. (The second was Victor Victoria). Thank you for sharing your talent with us, you will be missed - Blake Edwards

  • This movie erupts with pure joy of living. Thank you, Mr Blake Edwards.

  • We lost Blake Edwards yesterday. The world will miss him. The moment I heard of his passing, I remembered this movie -- and how my dad kept laughing so hard my mother threatened to leave the theater. Or so the story goes. Mr. Edwards would've enjoyed knowing that. May he Rest in Peace.

  • RIP Mr Blake Edwards ;(

  • Perhaps the greatest sight gag film of all time. RIP Blake Edwards!

  • The bathroom scene is my favorite, when the toilet paper roll keeps on spinning, lol!

  • grande

  • This is epic, one of the best comedies ever....

  • Thumbs up for 4:22

  • Can you believe my girlfriend only laughed ONCE during this entire movie?? I think she might be defective...

  • @fibreoptik

show to your girlfriend some video of ' charlie chaplin'..

I believe she will laugh all the time!

  • Peter was a genius. There is just not comedy like this anymore. I have a feeling that Rowan got tips from this film for Mr. Bean. There is a similarity.

  • absolute classic!

  • comedic genius Peter Sellars..love the drunk waiter, fond memories watching this movie growing up..""Howdy Pardener!""

  • ...

  • From the Soundtrack - The Party, Henry Mancini

    Track #6 The Birdy Num-Num (from 3:12)

Track #3 Nothing to Lose is (up until 3:12)

  • This trailer made me laugh harder than I have at any entire movie in years! I'm in tears right now!

  • Thanx for this!

  • There is a catchy piece played by the band at 3:12 Does anyone know the group or the piece they are playing? otherwise some classic comedy by the man

  • thanks god they don't remarked yet

  • I remember the kitchen chaos was especially funny in this film because it was an area where you have to perform to a certain standard and the two in the kitchen end up choking each other in utter silence, which magnified the tension and the humor.. the ceasar salad egg scene was awful funny.... - just loved the whole thing.Peter Sellers was amazingly funny.

  • jajajajaajajaja

  • great. love this trailer. i've got to see this. sellers rules (still)

  • THIS certainly is one of Peter Sellers masterpiece The Party is a must watch movie.

  • Please!! someone can tell me de name of the song in 3:11??

I just can't find it anywhere... and i just love this song

  • @fcostabile as time goes by?

  • Omg the toilet paper is wicked funny

  • I love this house.....

  • This movie is one of the masterpieces in the movie history. Like panthi said it is far from racist but rather otherwise.

  • Ha ha! Great!

  • my friend summarized this movie by saying that "an indian actor had to go to the washroom".

  • R.I.P. Peter Sellers

  • JAJA Que maestro!! un genio peter Sellers

  • lol! OMG derogatory racial stereotypes are funny!

  • thank u

  • BIRDY NUM NUMS! and the elephant! :D

  • @LaughUpAStorm - TOTALLY!!! Birdy NUM NUM!!!!

  • Best comedy ever and I have watched a lot over the past 30+ years, it's dated but Peter and that waiter and timeless, everyone must own a copy, always cheers you up!

  • My life in a nutshell.

  • HILARIOUS

"...please remain connected to the telephone..."

    the whole movie is unbelievable...

    birdie num num

Howdy parrdeneRR... I watched it so many times

  • One of the best comedies ever !!! I ´ve wachted three times already. Great Peter Sellers !

  • That last part was hilarious!! I must see this movie!

  • you must rent, if you haven't seen!

This is one of the funniest movie I've seen!

  • @chocolateizzy have you seen the pink panther series?

  • God! You people who are bringing up racial crap are missing the whole point of the film! The ones who are really being made fun of are all the rich people in the film. If you watch the whole movie you will see they are oblivious to everything around them and are miserable. The disenfranchised like the Indian main character, the pretty girl, and the youth are the only ones who are having fun!

  • i know right. I know Brits offended by Austin Powers and French people offended by Inspector Clouseau but in the end of the day, they are the winners... they are the ones who get the ladies goddamnit!

  • @panthr3037 you said it better than anybody! Thank you!

  • @panthr3037 Well said. When will people realise that "political correctness" is merely a form of social engineering, another phase in the conditioning of humanity by the global elite. Wake up folks, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

  • @panthr3037 Is this another one of those, "This here racism!" moments? I guess if real Indian had played the role rather than Peter Sellers this wouldn't be a issue for some closed minded politically correct

people. It would have been a shame because Peter Sellers was great!

  • Seriously, I laugh harder with this movie better than the Pink Panther movies!

  • lindoooooo.é o meu favorito!

  • i never seen anything like it!!the greatest movie everrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!

  • @melibass This is an amazing film, with an exellend actor!!!

If you haven't seen Peter Seller in other films, you schould see Pink Panther, too, as Inspector Clouseau!!

You will laugh for days, those are classical movies.

  • Best Movie Ever

  • steven franken as the drunk waiter was awesome

  • good stuff, ty foar posting

  • Do you guys think Mr Bean patterned his career after Peter Sellers?

  • They say laughter is the best medicine - I am now healed. - lol !!! Thanks for posting.

  • the funniest man ever .

  • 6:45 is the funniest shit ever.

  • love this movie...watched it again with my parents last night...haven't heard them laugh that much in ages!

  • hello this is chief inspector clouseau speaking on the phoon

  • correction"the feun";-)

  • Well the main character is depicted as Indian. How many US movies from the late 60s had Hindis in lead roles (even if it was a Brit playing the role). God this new age pc feel good crap gets applied retro-actively to prove an idiotic premise. Enjoy the movie for what it is - bloody great comedy. Gits.

  • Russell Peters has to do a remake of this classic.

y dad never laughed much at movies but he almost cried roaring at this one.

  • Damn! I've never seent this. Too funny!

  • I love this movie!!!

  • The dinner scene is obviously borrowed from the Laurel & Hardy silent "From Soup To Nuts". The background music by Henry Mancini is nice. The blonde he's sitting next to is Carol Wayne who appeared in Johnny Carson's Art Fern sketches. The man who got a dart in the forehead is Denny Miller who appeared on two Gilligan episodes. Just a few comments.

  • Thanks for the information, that's great trivia!

  • You're welcome, your Majesty. Something else I noticed - at a party with lots of people, the only African-Americans are the maid and a jazz musicians. Stereotypes were still alive and well when this movie was made.

  • Excellent point you make, truly a sign of the times. this film although brilliant and loaded with cartoonish like characters, great faces, etc. Those people of color are not depicted as being peers of the main stream. Thank goodness things are changing, have changed! ;-))

  • Your guys think too much. Just sit back and enjoy the film

  • Not much stereotypes, i think probably in the '60s in a hollywood party there wouldn't have been many black invited. Few blacks were famous, and most were musicians, so it's quite accurate. Obviously (and luckly) today it's different, you would find Samuel Jackson and Laurence Fishbourn in that party for sure!

  • One of the best humour scenes I have ever seen.

  • Grteat clip, He's a movie legend

  • jajajajaaaaaa, I cant to stop smile; when the waiter take the chicken jajajajaja.

  • Peter Sellers should be cloned...

  • Thank you please come again.... hehe

  • Rire un peu, beaucoup, passionnément, à la folie !!! la fin du film reste grandiose !!!

  • What is the jazzy music from 3:00?

  • Funny what you learn nowadays with youtube. This is one of my favourite films of all time...but today I found a clip of Freddie Frinton..Dinner for One...and there is the idea for the waiter scene in the fabulous Party!!! Both brilliant thou'.

  • Who is the lady who meets Sellers...she is wearing a French maid costume...?

  • He's hilarious! I love him! ;) Greetings from Serbia! ;)

  • Eva...do you like the USA?

  • Not so much....but I have cousins there..why?

  • Eva...tell me...why do you dislike the USA?

Eva...I am curious...what do you think of Israel?

A lot of Serbs say bad things about Israel...I wonder why...

  • Chill out man! Nothing against Israel!.... I love Peter Sellers, and I think that's the only thing I said... P.S Serbs are not so bad,as the Americans think, and if you are from Israel, you'll understand why I don't like USA!

  • superb

  • memories of best days come back.

    thanks.

  • the funniest man i have ever seen in movies

  • looks and behaves very much like Sarkozy

  • it rocks

  • excuse me..but it's birdie num nums!

  • This is an all time fav comedy. I LOVED the drunken bartender the best
