I put 180k miles on my previous C5 vette without a single problem other than scheduled maintenance. When I traded it in on my current C6 it was in prestine condition and not a single rattle. My C6 is even better. I couldn't be happier with my corvette. I love the fact that the exterior panels are fiberglass...It's lightweight and dent resistant-unless it's a really hard hit. For the $ It's a hell of a machine. It's been in production since 1953 so they're doing something right.

Anyone hatting on this video because of brand of car is about as smart as a wet bag of hammers! I've been in both cars and I've had several muscle cars. The Porsche is killer on the track, and just so you fools know, this particular Porsche hear is set strictly for the track! The z06 is good but when your giving up power and weight its no contest! Kudos to both drivers, especially the z06 for running some great lines. It looks easy but its not! I race bikes and I work at a track so I know lots!!
Don't feel too bad. The Vette is a somewhat underpowered sports car. Especially during this time frame.. I think that the newest Corvettes are the only ones that have actually proven that the Corvette name isn't fully extinct yet..
Think about it. There are a lot of cars out there that are 300+ horsepower that are above the 2500lbs mark. and they just can't compete with the lighter cars even if they have the same horsepower. Heavier cars dont go as fast.. use your brain.

I think that if maybe this vette had raced the porsche on a different track with more turns and less straights,.. it wouldnt have been such a creaming. Any car with 650bhp would have to be cautious going into any corner, the power going to the wheels coming out of the corner could spin the car, resulting in the following car's driver being seriously injured.
Bear in mind they are on a race track, which would have racing regulations to follow, the drivers can't just throw caution to the wind, besides if I was in the Porsche I'd let the Vette catch up on the corners a little to show the difference in power, which is what it looks like happened.

Well seeing as they race in a completely different class (GT1 to GT2) where by the way no one races due to the fact that a 7 litre motor says "We could give a shit about the enviroment" except for the arrogant Corvette club.

They race in GT2 now and I just watched an ALMS race where vettes took 1st and 3rd with a Ferrari 430 in between them. I am not going to argue anymore because clearly you don't understand that a turbo flat six and a NA V8 should be outputting around the same power if the makers are doing their jobs. Last time I checked most kit cars, who can pick any engine for their car, choose GM v8's and not Porsche flat sixes so it says something about how good they are. I think you might be jealous :P

Anyone hatting on this video because of brand of car is about as smart as a wet bag of hammers! I've been in both cars and I've had several muscle cars. The Porsche is killer on the track, and just so you fools know, this particular Porsche hear is set strictly for the track! The z06 is good but when your giving up power and weight its no contest! Kudos to both drivers, especially the z06 for running some great lines. It looks easy but its not! I race bikes and I work at a track so I know lots!!

Don't feel too bad. The Vette is a somewhat underpowered sports car. Especially during this time frame.. I think that the newest Corvettes are the only ones that have actually proven that the Corvette name isn't fully extinct yet..

Think about it. There are a lot of cars out there that are 300+ horsepower that are above the 2500lbs mark. and they just can't compete with the lighter cars even if they have the same horsepower. Heavier cars dont go as fast.. use your brain.

Im sure it does,.. but thats not what we are really talking about is it now. I think that if maybe this vette had raced the porsche on a different track with more turns and less straights,.. it wouldnt have been such a creaming. But the porsche's raw speed dominates the vette. It's just too large, and doesnt have enough ass to keep up.

well its not so much now.. but it was. It wasn't until recently that they actually started treating it with some real racing features. ex. carbon fiber body, larger/lighter motor, larger wheels, imporved suspension.

His handling did pay off so I'm not sure what you're talking about? He caught up to him on the turns but once that Porsche hit the strait it was gone. Who are you to say his "crappy handling Corvette" isnt modded with handling upgrades such as suspension breaks and such? The dood in the Vette did an amazing job... Just can't beat a car with over 200hp and less weight!

Any car with 650bhp would have to be cautious going into any corner, the power going to the wheels coming out of the corner could spin the car, resulting in the following car's driver being seriously injured.
Bear in mind they are on a race track, which would have racing regulations to follow, the drivers can't just throw caution to the wind, besides if I was in the Porsche I'd let the Vette catch up on the corners a little to show the difference in power, which is what it looks like happened.
