I think if there is a good, loving God then everyone will go to heaven or cease to exist. If there is a heaven i'll be there. But I think there is probably no heaven or God. I think the most likely thing is that I will cease to exist.
The writer of Job 14v10-14 & Ecclesiates 3v19 also thought Man's fate is like the animals, all have the same breath / spirit. Matt 18v22 If Jesus told Peter to forgive 77 billion times 7, then gave Peter keys to heaven Matt 16v19; he'll call our name, & renew us
i think you focused too much on political forces even thought thats the main lyrical theme of the song... the musical theme and the title of the song should have made it up for more of us human beings and nature instead of just technologies i believe... though, thanks for giving your opinion and taking the time to do such a well done video :)
most people say its the french revolution. but it is also about christian references, st.peter, who guarded the gates of heaven, the castle on the pillers of sand. Jerusalem bells, roman calvery, it was pretty much abt jesus's time, that and the french revolution too,
its about something like the Story of a Conqueror,King or someone who is powerful but not all of us will be forever in that power .........and all of them are trying their best to be the best, but no one is really the best, because no one is perfect.
This video and song clearly represent the bigger picture and how in the past it was indeed us that prevented us from what we all universally need and want, may we learn from our mistakes as I continually realize and do , and obviously the harmony in this song shows us how we can come to agreements is we see things the same. 2010 earth day 9:40pm awaken your awarness
I think this song can actually represent anything about anyone. We all in life only strive to be perfect, to do something that will make us and everyone else proud of our accomplishments. However, we are always going to go through hardships, and sometimes we might never get to our goal. This song helps me realize that even when life seems bleak, there is always another chance. Life after death, a chance to redeem after failure. Great song to me <3
ha ha ... u know what..... i actually cried the first time i heard this song cus i was basicily the king of 5th grade .... then i moved and i was a nobody again but ........ anyway this song touched my heart and coldplay iz my favorite band and i have made a list of a bunch of things i'm gonna do to help people ..like "my name is earl and the buried life"
Actually it does. The Earth is actually quite a self-destructive item in terms of pollution and extermination. Whenever the ice ages melt, pollution is released, whenever a MAJOR Earthquake occurs, pollution is released. The entire Caribbean is a sitting methane time bomb. The worst ever was at the end of the cretaceous. At such a time, it was so bad that valleys actually collected poisonous gases and tar pits were everywhere gobbling up creatures. Such bad times. Man is far from the worst.
this song should inspire people to make something out of there lives cause there alot people out these days living a hard live this song should be carry'd on to them!
coldplay has said it is a song about a king who has just lost his kingdom and is now reflecting back on his life and the choices he has made. this song is appealing because the 'king' can be any number of people who have fallen from power or grace. it can refer to actual rulers or forgotten movie stars or anything in between. if coldplay made a song so narrow as to only depict the french revolution, nobody would care about it. they didn't. they made this song.
@ihateuutube a good song means 1000 different things to 1000 different people. However, it's widely understood and known this song is about the Catholic Church during the Crusades. However, I like this video more than the rest because it really shows your point. In this case it's American reflecting back on their time of power, their choices, and ultimately their lost kingdom so to speak.
I didn't even watch your video when I made mine, but they do have some similarities. Of course, mine was made after the election. It kind of inspired me.
I heard a version of Viva La Vida on the radio with political clips in it. I have to say that this song is by far one of the greatest songs ever recorded (in my opinion) It says a lot. This video and the images that you used speak volumes about the world in this day and age of instant communication, instant vision, via this massive entity known as the internet. This video, is very poignant to the times that we live in and the challenges we face as a country. Brilliant!
do you by any chance know the name of the song with the political clips in it? because i think i heard it too and i wanted to get it but i can't find it
i love this song... it should be obama's campaign song lol... he is most definitely the right pic... for all the obama supporters out there that feel they are surrouded by mccain lovers, dont worry we're out there ;) never give up!!!
cant believe the name of the album has nothing to do with the song Lol xD they told everything at mtv of how they choosed Viva la vida. they got it from a paint from Frida Calo named obviously Viva la vida. xDDD
Well, Barack Obama has his own qualities and talents, but the movement that has been inspired by him can certainly be compared to the inspiration of RFK. Let's just hope the magic lasts until November.
i think that the 9/11 point in the video is a really controversial one, no good prez would have stood by & done nothin while terrorists were attackin. even tho most of the time war isnt the answer, i think that in that case it wuz the only way 2 remove those terrorists from ther so that they cant harm any more people. my dad faught in the war 4 2 years & i understand that u cant just take the soldiers out w/out makin sure that iraq can stand on its own. we should be helping them.
We haven't removed the terrorists. You can't "remove them", you can only eliminate their recruiting base and attack the major factions. Terrorism will never be eliminated. Unfortunately the way this war has been handled, we have enabled more terrorists than we have eliminated them. But nobody deserves more honor than our soldiers who have donated their time and lives for this country no matter what the leaders of our country have forced them to do.
You know, I think I like this video better than either of the official ones. I felt there were things you could have done better (mostly to do with timing, and I felt like some images stayed up too long), but on the whole, it was great. (Also, I liked the 9/11 images. They worked well with the lyrics at that point.)
in relation to the song's meaning, it is indeed about Louis XVI and the french revolution, with the french revolution being the central part of the album- but the song also fits in very well with America's recent history with the chorus being the main part- jerusalem bells- israel
i don't think they have- i think they've just left it to our imaginations- the front cover of the album though is a portrait of the french revolution, so im guessing its based on all those events- and viva la vida sounds like the fall of King Louis XVI
St. Peter won't "call his name" because Louis XVI really didn't care for god and only used religion as an excuse to oppress his people and maintain his crown.
to follow up, to post any image of 911 and try to make a political point is below the standards of America, despite what BS our President has done for almost 8 years. We are better than this, America is, and so is the world.
9/11 is no more than a piece of history that has helped shape the world. It has been used as a reason for the Iraq War, War on Terror, Patriot Act, Our interrogation of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay, and used as a basic reason to extend the power of the US military and our branch of National Security. So, if you can't find anyway this piece of History has changed lives, please tell me. Anyways, why does it bother you so much?
"It has been used as a reason for the Iraq War, War on Terror, Patriot Act, Our interrogation of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay, and used as a basic reason to extend the power of the US military and our branch of National Security."
Correct, all diversions from what America was based on. Also bad ideas which play into the hands of radically thinking oppressed muslims that think killing us is a way to go to heaven. Time for change from big oil and yahoos.
Point taken. Your response is correct. Everything has changed, and not because of 911, but because of our response (or lack of one). A better AMerica is before us. VOte chage.
I stopped watching as soon as you dropped 911. I love this song, and I loved the earliear version of this same video that did not bring up 911. Shame on you for showing any images of 911 in a music video. I wrote another 2 paragraphs but I deleted them. I love the real america, not the right vs. left one the media pushes.
I love coldplay...and I the lyrics and the sound and so I like this song. And the video is much better than the original apple KPT-Filter style effects ;-)
But how ever - I don't think it's about bush or america...much more about the roman empire and the european union. Am I right, if I say: They dare to play with some prophecies of the bible... ???
I'm positive it's about Louis XVI. The whole album references the French Revolution and the cover is a classic painting tied heavily to the the revolution.
So you can honestly call this Haliburton-Enron-Iraq War-Guantanamo-Patriot Act-Hurricane Katrina-Exxon Mobil-Saudi Oil Befriending Bush administration a good one? C'mon I understand it may have been a tough 8 years for Bush (whether or not he helped create half of the problems or not) but honestly, no good president could've messed up so many things in two terms.
Other people don't like him because of the tax on things now days. The problem with that is when you buy something from like the supermarket. the food/etc was deliver from a truck probaly, and guess what trucks run on?(gasoline) and we are running low on gas so that's the main reason the gas price/etc cost so much now days. Summary: we use too much gas and we are running out making the demand for gas increase. also making the price increase because of that. taht is just what i think.
wow stone ur a fucking ideot bush is the dumist president FUCK him if i could i would personly assassinate his filthy faggot ass also by the way america fucking sucks
It's certainly not a copy. Parts of some clips are from a video Jeremy Abdo made. If you read my information about the video, I openly give him credit for a number of the clips.
nice video. the only part i don't like is the picture of all the people with the "Bush is the worst president ever" signs. other than that, excellent job.
This song seems to be about the French revolution more than anything. So I'm guessing the "her" is Marie Anotinette. It's a beautiful song, I love itttt.
I think if there is a good, loving God then everyone will go to heaven or cease to exist. If there is a heaven i'll be there. But I think there is probably no heaven or God. I think the most likely thing is that I will cease to exist.

I edited this video. It is not Coldplay's video, although I'm flattered you thought it could've been.

This song seems to be about the French revolution more than anything. So I'm guessing the "her" is Marie Anotinette. It's a beautiful song, I love itttt.

I think he is talking about her, because the song is mostly about her husband Louis.

I translated Viva La Vida and it translated to Long Live Her Life. I wonder who she is...
youtubrgirl12345 3 years ago
vida could mean his or her life. i think it would probably be his life because the song is mostly about him being king.
