I'm not condoning their actions (UDA, UVF UFF), just think it rather sanctimonious for the O'Neill brothers to condemn sectarianism, while having honoured convicted terrorists on live TV ; those black armbands insult the memory of the IRA's countless innocent victims. Nonetheless, that footage is still broadcast worldwide to an adoring, yet hopefully unsuspecting audience. I make absolutely no apology in saying they are worthy of nothing but contempt.
@ulsterman1980 Okay, Ulster Man. Yes, the IRA killed people. But that has nothing to do with the black armbands. Those are to honour other dead men. And when Dee O'Neill wore the armband on TOTP, that was to honour Bobby Sands, who was a fantastic poet and champion of the Irish language aside from being a convict. So just enjoy this absolutely fantastic song and ignore the politics. Or go and listen to the eighties mainstream that was 'A Good Heart'. Your choice.
Nooooo....oyemimelaza you saw them last night? Really? a friend of mine used to be with Steve, but that was over 20 years ago. All of them were gorgeous and really nice people too. Generous. When you say SXSW where is that? If its Seattle, I'll tell my cousin to go and see them, cos she lives there. I'm in the UK, close to Manchester. You are so lucky to have seen them live.
Feargal Sharkey was one very cool and talented frontman. I cannot understand all this Feargal-bashing & suspect that most of you have no personal recollections from that time but are simply subscribing to somebody else´s opinion.
fuck man these guys the greatest lost band of al time if ya get me, its so right and synchronistic for them to get back now all the new bands remind me of them. TPE xxx
but not quite fresh.Wolf Parade.sound like this .but no excuse.the jesus and mary chain.nirvana.ref.points .but why do bands lose it.i havent .wont.even john rotten lost it .but i wont .
brilliant song from the greatest band in the world. All I managed to see live was their 15 minute set at the 1993 Phoenix Festival - they deserved better than that disasterous day.
more petrols please,like concerts,big decision,life blood etc,I remember how the right-wing tabloids labelled them an I R A band for mentioning plastic bullets and the records were banned,they were just far better than anyone else,literate and exciting,ex undertones,pop renegades.....Peel loved them.

Apologists for IRA terror, no matter what their 'artistic merits'. Give me Feargal any day.

@ulsterman1980
So then, what about UDA Terror ? UFF Terror ? UVF-Terror ?
Keep reflecting.
