I think it's kinda funny that this dude's name is two other guitar companies DEAN & Grech (Gretsch spelled a little differently, but said the same way). just kinda funny
I am just hearing (on my quality headphones of course) some good humbuckers. I am not hearing any extended low end or high end that the Lace literature speaks of. Not different from several sets of quality humbuckers on a 335 style guitar that I have.
I'm looking for the jazzy....twangy sound that up until now I haven't heard before. The sound I'm hearing from the pickup it just perfection. I have 9-10 electric guitars and with the exception of one already having the pickups swapped, I'm thinking about swapping the pickups in EVERY guitar to Lace pickups.
Maybe I'll win the lottery first and then I can afford to do them all at once!
@Moejoe989 This is the kind of sound i like too. Check out the TV Jones MagnaTron: twang and beef in one package. If you want something bigger / smoother, check out the SuperTron. They aren't cheap but completely worth it.
I am currently awaiting a 1951 Epiphone Century Archtop to arrive from Ebay. It comes with a single humbucker pickup in the neck, and I am really loving the sound of the alumitone in the neck of your guitar.
I am a little worried about decreasing the value of the guitar by removing an 'original' piece. But, its going to be played and appreicated by me so...
Would you recommend the alumitone in the neck pickup? Or possibly another humbucker?
I've had a set of Alumitones n my 2006 HSS Fat Strat fo about 3 years now. They have served me brilliantly n this time and I'm only too happy to recommend them to anyone. And aside from the great tone they make my guitar one of the most distinguished Strats in Australia. Keep up the great work, Lace Ind.!!!

@gr81dorn an even stranger coincidence is that his middle name is Fender.

Wow! I'm not digging the bridge pickup, but the neck one is exactly the clean sound I'm looking for!
