Alright, so what does it mean when I end up plinking the light attack instead???? In this instance, I'm doing Juri's cr.lk, st.lk , cr.mp xx pinwheel (Plinking the cr.mp). And at times, the game says I plinked the cr.lp. Making the cr.lp come out instead of the cr.mp. WTH does that mean?

@RetroHunter06 Nope, I always play on default... The same concept applies; where you hit one button just before another. However, because of wing controllers, it's difficult to plink anything worth plinking with the 4 face buttons with only your thumb. I mean, all you can really plink is lk~lp, but that has to be crouching (for this game anyway). Plinking is more practical with Heavy Punch/Kick, where you will hit a trigger button and a face button.

@Grahf get a stick. seriously, ppl play with pads out of habit n comfort (like i used to) but the fact is, its a game designed for an arcade. its a telling sign that all the top players in the world, at least top 20, use arcade sticks, simply bc advanced concepts like plinking, option select, piano tap cannot be done on a pad. most pad players i know can barely fadc without macros. best gaming investment ever.

warning: steep learning curve. you'll have to spend about 3 months just in training

Just a quick explanation on why you can't mash 2 frames in a row: The game reads your inputs at 60 frames per second. So it reads it on one frame and if it reads the same input on the next frame obviously the game thinks you're holding the button down. Which is why the turbo on the TEs is 20 times per second (every 3 frames) and the slower turbo is 10 times per second (every 6 frames). If you were pressing a button every frame the game would read it as you holding the button down.

welll something clicked and i understand plinking.....basically you can't just mash Hard Kick for that Ryu combo to work, because like you said capcom made the game so that if you mash it, it won't come out at it's earliest frame, but it'll be delayed. By priotising it, or plinking it with medium kick, it's like u'r being allowed to mash it hence it comes out at it's earliest frame. I guess it's just a way to mash legitimately. correct me if i'm wrong.

The timing needs you to do it in 1/60th of a second.This just doubles the input within one move, meaning if you plink Hp with mp the game will register 2 hps even though one will come out, and since you usually plink faster than when you don't the move will come out.It really has nothing to do with mashing.

about the inputs. its kinda strange with a pad to plink. you have to press 2 buttons almost simultaneosly to do the right input. go to training mode and try just to plink without a combo. you know how it is supposed to look like

I plink Alot but i have been doing it wrong i thought you had to plink with the last button you pressed. For Example With ken i like to Do Cr. LK Cr. Lp Cr. Hp its not a hard link but one of my favorites. I thought you had I had to hit LP and HP at the sametime to Plink COrrectly. I guess i shouldve been using MP.

i've bee nwaiting for a good tutorial about plinking for ages, although I have a question, I've tried to do dudle's cr lp, st hk xxx ex mgb for ever and because I couldn't do that I gave up dudley although it's suppose to be a 2 frame link I can't pull it off, to do this via plinking, how would I do the ex mgb plinking wise?
