I've always hated it when rock bands smash their instruments. I think it started as a symbol of the rebellious nature of rock, but I can't help but see it as very wasteful.
@Eddie7068 they had people go into the crowd and grab em cause they did have a lot of cash to replce em or if they didnt get them theyoffer a backstag meet and greet
Lucky me, I became a fan in 1976 and got to see them in Charlotte in 76, 77, 78. All sold out shows and Ace Frehley blasted that place to bits! I'm 54, and I'll never forget it. The joy Ace's music brought wow....
Somebody screwed up here, but this isn't 1977 for sure. I know this for a fact. Also those costumes were boxed by 1977. They were already 2 years into the Destroyer costumes by then DUMB ASS
This is what I remember seeing ! The Drums rising up. I later saw KISS in concert at Pine Bluff Ark.('78?)They arose out of the stage, blew fireballs off the ceiling, shot rockets from Aces guitar....!!! I saw Boston,Aerosmith,Frampton,Clapton,Ozzy,Allmans,Doobies @ PB ConvCtr....KISS blew em all AWAY. Defntly worth the $8.50? ticket
KISS RAISES HELL, and that is what we damn love about them! Rock on Ace, we love you always. a 53 year old fan here:) Lance in beautiful Bremerton, Washington
I can't believe it! I swear this is video from the first time I ever saw Kiss. As someone posted below, I believe this was indeed from 1975. I think it was from July Fourth weekend 1975, to be exact. I remember seeing them tearing up the drums, the explosions and thinking how cool it was. Well, a few months passed and I forgot about them. Then one day I heard "Rock 'n' Roll All Night" on the radio. They had hit it big-time. I immediately had to get Kiss Alive!, one of the greatest albums EVER!
kiss kicked fukin' ass,you are totally right. But,the same era,had my fav. as well,Ozzy& sabbath, you agree?Even though they are,[in my opinion]2 different types of smash your head in tunes.Fuck what i would give to be back in those days
Crap! This was way BETTEr than 77! KISS were on FIRE here mate! This is 1 of the BEST live per4mances of KISS I have ever seen from the really early days C74-75. By 77 things started to slide down hill into parsimony! But hey, thats what FAME does when it replaces hunger and passion!
This ROCKED. I saw the other 2 songs they did on that night but NOT this 1. This was INSANE!
i wasnt dissin' early kiss i was saying that if this WAS '77 there would be like stairs and tigers and stuff, i agree and think their best days were 74-75 when they were doing it for the hunger and passion...that's when they were brilliant.

An odd note about Criss, he was stacking splashes and bells on top of his crashes back in '75?! I didn't think anyone did that until the 80's ...
Oh, and great finale!!

Check out 2:10-2:30, one of KISS's most exciting musical passages in their entire catalog. In my humble opinion.

1 word! BRILLIANT!!! BEST early live performance I've ever seen & i've seen lots of KISS shows.
The Midnight Special was 1 OUT of the box that night. Loud, Raw, Passionate and uncompromising!
THIS was the REAL KISS we all learnt to love in those days!
Its amazing what hunger & passion can DO to make a band play its hearts out & they succeeded on this night!
***** Boys!
