williams has always been to me, a much better dramatic actor than comic. jake was great. borrowed this from the library a few weeks ago and when they said jake was in it, kept looking for a man finally dawned that he was the boy. great acting from a superbly wriiten/acted show.
somebody knows were i can find subtitles in spanish for this serie? i can`t find it ! or a translator for the subtitles in english, i really need it! thanks, greetings from argentina!
My wife and I thought this was the best TV series ever...until The Wire on HBO edged it out. The Wire could do things on HBO you could not do on regular TV. The Wire was written by the same writer who wrote the original book and series Homicide and combines Baltimore Homicide and Narcotics...it is awesome. Check it out on Wikipedia, IMDB and get the DVD set(s).
The Wire is all time best TV, real police, natural police (and I don't give that up very easily). Next was Homicide (good police as well - murder police).

The Wire as a street/police show was grand, but when Simon tried to shovel that "oh it was about the city of Baltimore the whole time" shit. Please. Only great without the pointless elements such as the newspaper, political posturing, and dock characters (minus the drug suppliers; greek and spiros.)
this was one of the best cop show ever. There was no shooting very little blood. Great stories great acting. I have this show on DVD. check it out if you get a chance.
every episode they would do a crazy camera angle to add to the intensity of the scene.Like repeating and 360 shots. I watched the show just to see what crazy angle they'd use
DUDE IS ROBIN WILLIAMS!!! DUDE IS THE DUDE FROM LAW AND ORDER!!! DUDE IS THE HOTTEST MAN ALIVE JAKE GYLLENHAAL!!!! Jake wasn't nearly as hot in this as he is now cuz..ya know, age and everything...also, they chose the worst hair for him :( oh wellzz... :)
I agree about his pronunciation of the word "blood." If there was any doubt its him (simply because you can't see his face) there ain't anymore. And Amen to him gettin' rid of that hair!
I totally remember this episode, it was so sad! I had no idea that was him until seeing it again now & Jake looks so young yet so handsome at the same time. He still looked so young in "City Slickers," it's almost hard to recognize him, but you can totally tell it's him in this clip. Look at those eyes, that's 100% Jake!!!

This show had some of the greatest writers, in its time at one point I think it even far exceeded Law & Order... such an underrated show.
gillianseed 4 years ago 4
I agree; it was ahead of its time. If it had been on FX or HBO it might not have struggled so much for its audience.

When Jake became a big star , I remembered him from this. But I think the fact his dad directed this episode is why he is in it, rather than talent.
