yes, the commerson's dolphins' maximum length is 1,74 metres and maximum weight 86 kg (the bottlenose dolphins can weigh up to 650 kg).and they're not even the smallest dolphins.

One thing I've always wondered: what the makes these trainers think that dolphins and orcas enjoy being rubbed on the tops of their heads? Cetaceans are not dogs and cats. Hell, they're not even hoofed animals. They are long removed from any land animals, and most likely, they no longer express affection by making contact with their heads the way many land mammals like felines and canines do. That's even assuming that prehistoric ungulates showed affection by contact with their heads.
@masmddds Actually, marine mammals rub and touch against eachother in the wild constantly. It a very important aspect of their social relationships with one another. Wild dolphins will often welcome human hands to rubs and pats. Touching is essential in a marine mammals life. =) Simply because they do not live on land makes this no different. Like any other animals without hands, they use their mouths and heads to nudge and pick things up too.
Aw, I miss this! I remember they put up this exhibit right before they tore the thing down... what a shame. My parents would take my brother and I every summer. Sea World, Aurora is the reason Commersons are my favorite dolphins! :D
Yes! This is definately SeaWorld in Aurora, Ohio because I remember very vividly seeing this rocky-ish enclosure there. When I was there back in '98/'99, I remember seeing them zoom around their enclosure like they were racing eachother (that's my guess).
I'm just surprised to see how tiny these guys are. Nonetheless, they're cute as a button. (:
Yeah I just went to Aquatica this past weekend. They seem to be adjusting quite well. I gotta admit though the slide that goes through their exhibit sucks because it's so fast and it's hard to see them. Although they have a couple glass windows you can just go stand at.
Actually, we were both wrong. SeaWorld Ohio never had Commerson's dolphins. And Aquatica opened this past Saturday, so there's no way this was filmed at Aquatica. The only other facility is SeaWorld San Diego, which is where this was filmed.
Sorry, they DID have Commerson's. This video was taken the first time I had every been to a Sea World. It was the first attraction on the left as you entered the park.
I love this video because I remember going to SeaWorld Ohio as a kid and I LOVED these guys. Almost as much as the orcas. These guys were too cute.

No, it's OHIO. The now closed Seaworld that was next to Geauga Lake in Aurora.
I have never been to Florida and I don't do CGI. So yes, it is OHIO and NOT Florida.
