I love when he says this in the first debate. Bush and Clinton were talking about how they've got plenty of experience and qualifications and Perot just says, "Well they've got a point. I mean I have no experience in running up a 4 trillion dollar debt." That just makes me laugh each time. Perot won that first debate.
I wasn't one of the nearly 1 in 5 Americans who chose Henry Ross Perot in the 1992 general election for president--but I was tempted. It was the first presidential election I was eligible to vote in, so I took it all oh, so seriously. Now sober nonetheless, Perot's colorful reference to the "crazy aunt down in the basement" reminds me of cORA M. “Cozy MAYo” ATWATER (072-30-4313) & Republican operative LEE ATWATER (248-94-1615). cORA's kid, Maxine M. DIXON, is unrelated to the 5123 tel. suffix
cORA M. “Cozy MAYo” ATWATER (072-30-4313)—whose kid is Maxine M. DIXON—isn’t related to Republican operative LEE ATWATER (248-94-1615); the 5123 tel. suffix; or basketball. But NBA player player GRANT HENRY HILL was born on the 32nd birthday of 240-11-5586 and ex-MARYLAND tERRapin Juan DIXON (b. 1978) shares an OCT. 9 birthday with Lewis Zollicoffer (245-42-2074); Harvey LEE Green (b. 1960; 246-21-5792); and indicted Univ. of San Diego Toreros all-time leading scorer BRANDon JOHNSON (b. 1986)
There will be a reunion of all past present and future Perot and UWSA supporters in Dallas on October 22-24. All are welcome. You may search for Russell Verney on face book and should be able to find the event that way or email perotreunion@gmail.com
Please help get the word out to the public in any way you can.
I agree with MFP1520, I did also and would AGAIN, these GODDAMN so called politicians, have stolen, coveredup, lied, decived, and I truley belive murdered the American public, in the interest of international bankers and the like, in the interest of keeping their position, in the interst of living the easy life, off of OUR blood, sweat, and tears, and I'm GODDAMN TIRED of it, and NOW FINALLY the people are seeing, WE NEED ROSS, He'd kick some asses, and get things right for ALL of us
@nesnman All the Gingrich-led GOP Congress did in their first two years was shut the government down twice and preach to the country about getting back to "Victorian" values; all while Gingrich was cheating on his wife with a female staffer (whom he later married after divorcing his wife). Gingrich lasted four years and then quit when things didn't go his way in the 1998 midterms. What a pompus, ideological prick.
Perot was the only man I've seen in my lifetime that seriously shook up the establishment and gave them a run for their money...................until Ron Paul emerged on the scene. There is a big movement going on out there and it makes the Perot one (as impressive as it was) look like peanuts by comparison.
@macdaddylorenzo I heared it was because Clinton played saxaphone on MTV, so all the young guys watching who never would have voted, voted because of that.
@macdaddylorenzo If Perot hadn't dropped out of the race and then gotten back in later on, I think he would have had a decent shot of winning. Bush 41 was very unpopular and Clinton hadn't established himself yet. But Perot dropped out on the eve of Clinton's acceptance speech (one of the best speeches I have ever watched) and Clinton never looked back. One of the greatest "what ifs" in political history.
THANK YOU!!! Ross had this country, he was leading in the polls. . . until he dropped out in the thick of it after an unfortunate speech at the NAACP. Unreal, he was freakin' LEADING! Until he dropped for reasons he later disclosed as how the Bush people were going to sabotage his daughters wedding.
He looked like a loon from that and never really recovered. Can you imagine had he not dropped? If he had won?
The first non Dem or GOP joker in somewhere around 150 years. It would have been great
He dropped out from the 96 (not really by choice), and the reason he did is because of Clinton and Dole got together to make an agreement to stop him because he shook up the election so much in 92, he got 19.2% of the votes.
So what if he did, you telling me that his prediction are wrong? Clinton may have stimulated the economy but he also helped screw the country by putting restrictions on the second amendment and help restrict any chances for any third party to run.
Someone started a rumor that the Republicans were going to disrupt Ross Perot's daughters wedding by releasing doctored photos of her to embarrass her.
If George 1 had got a second term, "Dubya" most likely wouldn't be known outside of the Texas Oil world, where he'd probably still be draining away his golf buddies' finance money down barren wells and investment disasters-- rather than blowing billions of our dollars in Iraq and so on.
Funny I never thought of it but just re-watching this makes me think this was all contrived. Larry's question and Perot's answer (get me registered in all 50 states) was too easy especially right after him saying "I don't want it". I think Perot wanted to run all along and chose this forum to not announce but to put out the grass roots challenge. It was great PR. I did vote for him too.
Ross Perot is a good and decent man. He was right, we have ourselves to blame. We own this country and they work for us. We need his positive spirit again. The man gave us hope.
He had the free trade sham figured out ....

This psycho almost became president! If he'd actually been serious about it he might have won.
So if you think electing unknown incompetent impostors (like the B.O. we have now) is something new, guess again.

Perhaps 3000 dead Americans in Iraq for a war we can't explain, and then American veterans getting shafted is normal.
Perhaps Democrats passing "NAFTA" to screw "working families" they claim to care about is normal.
LOL but we'll say perot is too nutty.
