I remember in the 60s the cars were the blame for smog in the cities. And to an extent they were prob right. There was no smog emission control on any cars at that time. Being a kid in grade school you could see the smoking cars on the road. But then in the early 70s started an the CFCs scare, all spray cans were on target list to ban. Then the 80s came Global Warming was said we wouldn't see the year 2000 if we didn't stop global warming. Now it's Climate Change and CO2. There game never ends.
