i had one of the first falcons and it broke just the same as the old ones... (it ahd really loud fans too...) then my second one lasted 1 and a half years before its graphics messed up and it crashed... then it got RROD and now its on its way back from microsoft.... so they still do go wrong!!!
I'm not sure if the Falcon Xbox 360 is as reliable as the PS3 but it's a big improve over the Zephr and Xenon. If I had to guess, I'd say it's probably pretty solid now, my Falcon Xbox 360 has been solid and on top of that I've got piece of mind with the 3 year included warranty and by the time I buy a HDTV 1080p next year, a seperate blueray players will probably go down to $99 - 149 and be more advanced anyways if I really wanted one anyways. Still prefer DVDs for now, easier to backup.
If the manufactured date on your 360 is October 2007 or later, than you got a Falcon. Mine is June 2008 and it's pretty quiet and doesn't have much heat on it so I'm pretty happy with it. And this goes for Arcade Consoles, Core, and Elites. So now that the 360s are fairly solid, it comes down to purely the games as to whether or not a person would chose the PS3 or 360. Both are good systems, especially now.
crap man sorry to hear. Well I think I"m lucky then because my falcon is still good after playing so many games these past 12 months. Guess it's luck, my friend and his brothers have a Zephyr and they plays more than I do and it's still fine after 2 - 3 years.
can anyone tell me what's the difference between the 2? i have the Elite version! what the specs and can I upgrade anything on it?
thanx
