  • Fuck Bell Rogers and Telus

  • You want the system to work like electricity right? Okay, we pay for what we use. Cool. So 1 GIG costs about 1 penny to facilitate transfer. Okay, you want to make a profit. So charge me 2 cents per GIG.

    That's fine.

Charging me 2.00$ per GIG is criminal. That's 400 times how much it costs you. Why the hell should I have to pay that??

  • But Obama is passing "cybersecurity" and the internet kill switch?....lol

  • we need to protect the open network!! corporate media doesn't have a right to control what you do.. Unlimited access to all!!

  • Crtc are communists. I hope crtc will collapse and fucking die.

  • Obviously open internet, hopefully we have internet rules that doesn't let idiots establish fake facts or propaganda.

I was thinking about it, I think we will continue to hate corporations, for trying to make as much profit as possible. But its really one sided, if you owned a big corporation, you probably want to make as much money as possible as well, and take over the market.

  • @DoNotLaughAtMe but we dont own a big company, so we are trying to keep our money...

  • @dpsrush Yeah I know, This problem is forever lasting. Unless we have a new systems that determines what we get that might hopefully solve this crisis.

  • I am switching to independent Internet providers and abandoning Rogers for good. Already left Bell home phone and I will, in my small way, protest against large Telecoms abusing their powers.

  • It's obvious that the CRTC is going to win. This is just another way to stop people from spreading the word about the one-world government. This is happening in Canada first so nobody will find it suspicious over in the U.S. Soon, all countries will switch to a closed network so the groups that control the world can move that small obstacle out of the way.

  • @ owen420 - werd homie, WERD!

  • the revolution is coming am gunna do something are u?

  • Welcome to the future! We've already lost the battle here in the United States....

  • crtc are crooks...I dealt with them and they are a smoke screen for the corporations so they don't have to deal with us...the crtc hahahahaha what a joke the crooks baaaah I can't even talk about it it makes me so mad.

  • CTRC = CRIMINALS THAT ROB CANADIANS

  • CRTC set to impose BANDWIDTH CAPS on all ISP's in Canada! SIGN THE PETITION! stopthemeter.ca

  • Let's no be too hasty, the CRTC has a role to play. Maybe the current version is too much under the thumb of corporate giants but think about this, if the police is corrupt, you don't disband the force; you reform and eliminate the bad apples. The concepts of the CRTC is to act in the interest of the citizen, to hastily eliminate it would open all telecommunication to corporate interests and then you get US style media, completely biased. Reform is needed at the political level, talk to your MP

  • i hate the crtc so much.

  • i hate the crtc. if they allowed foreighn companies to provide us our services i wouldnt have to pay so much

  • Give me one example of that happening!!!!

What will end up happening is the regulators will say some internet providers are more equal then others.

  • I'm gonna change the title to America's Internet Explained and then go thru and dub "America" over everwhere he says canada, and then no one will no the difference.... hope thats cool

  • It'll kill the little business guy.

  • lol. Canada has the worst internet connection to cost ratio. It also has the worst cellphone connection to cost ratio.

  • Canada blows cock

  • Although I do agree with the principle of a free and open internet, I have trouble placing my faith in the government. Who is to say big business isn't already in Ottawa? I also have a suspicion that government oversight might one day start pushing corporations to start spying on citizens who are considered "a threat to security". Look at the US with its NSA warrantless wiretaps in conjunction with the telecom industry.

  • consider CANADAs TEKSAVVY cable or DSL internet canadainternet.info

  • Fuck the monopoly players!

  • Well if the USA is protecting the Net Canada will probably follow suit.

  • Why da hell are you talking about the CRTC as if the were the good guys??? They are just as bad, you are wrongly educating the people. The CRTC is in FULL support of The Big Three (Rogers, Bell, Telus). Just look at what they did to WIND Mobile, and it's only a matter of time before they do it to DAVE and Public Mobile. Do you seriously think, a group that wants NO competition, will HELP the public?? All they care about is profit, like most corporations. Dissolve The CRTC!!!!

  • @IsaacDFP Yes thats right The CRTC supports big business and helps create monolopies which is illegal in Canada.

  • first part was up to 3:58 is PURE BULLSHIT!!!!

  • what has the world come to? ROBBERS and the other two assholes are just businesses and like all businesses they want more money. if they dont allow net neutrality then i hate to say this but im moving out of this country. they dont want wind mobile to operate here and then the tv tax and then this. wtf is going man. sometimes i hate being a canadian.

  • Thats the spirit man! I hate Canada myself. Not about the internet, but stuff falls under the same principle.

How come the US has "truely unlimited" cell phone service for dirt cheap..I have a friend that lives in GA and pays $70/month for unlimited nationwide calling(NO LD Charges), unlimited web browsing/email, free caller id, voicemail and call wating

Thats something unheard of in canada, sad huh?

canada sucks the big one when it comes to technology advancement and prices

  • I support the free market place of ideas and products. The internet itself is the free market and the second we lose net neutrality is the second the consumers is not free to decide for themselves. Support the true free market not the stopping competition bullshit corporate whores do to seize the marketplace in the guise of a free market.

  • It's Big Brother.

  • Next step is : they will slow HD TV to 5 FPS after 10 hours per week (you know, HD TV takes a lot of bandwith).

Then : your phone calls will be limited to 45 seconds (it takes so much bandwith!)

  • I hate the CRTC.

  • Do you know what's the biggest problem is? It's INDIFFERENCE! People are so preoccupied with their problems that they don't really care what happens to others. We "appoint" politicians so they support our interests but all they do is give cheap promises. We need to rid ourselves from the incapable government and appoint someone who will have enough balls to show a middle finger to everyone threatening our freedoms. But I don't think this will happen cuz ppl r f*ckin pussies :(

  • We need to protect OUR internet; it belongs to the people, not to a few bigwigs. If they control it, they can control and shape our minds like the media did over the radio and early TV. If we lose, and continue to fight to restore net neutrality with a huge rally, the right-wing could storm in and kill us all and then the media would follow up saying we're a bunch of rioting communists who want to use the internet to spread propaganda. Not in Canada you say? It's happened before, in Canada.

  • The internet has been getting worse in Canada...

I miss unthrottled 7/1 cable... then Rogers took SHAW in my area and made it 7/0.5, then throttled P2P, now they throttle pretty much everything... even crapping the connection.

Oh, and instead of unlimited, 60GB.

And the prices have gone up... sure it's 10/0.5 now, but that's just for hitting the cap faster.

The CRTC is crooked, the only way things will really get better is if people don't stupidly give their money to Bell/Rogers...

  • and support ISPs that aren't against their freedom.

Outside ISPs there's lots of companies that want to control the internet, all of the media giants for example. Activision/Blizzard want their own closed protocol.

Apple is so zealous over controlling things you'd thing they'd try screwing with the internet, oh well, they can rape their customers all they want - those poor idiots(but fuck the Apple zealots).

  • I get 210GB a month, and I get true download speeds of 1mb/s. I don't mind the internet here!

  • u will soon....

  • Why, what's going to happen to it? Really, what's going to go horribly wrong?

  • what? it's gonna get worse! Right now u might have over 200 gb then it will decrease gradually. I had unlimited, now i have 120 gb limit. If I and many ppl like me will swallow the shit their r trying to feed us it's gonna get worse! In the beginning it was only big companies who restricted your traffic activities and now they r goin for a smaller fish

  • And what is going to cause it to get worse, exactly? Corporate greed? If you want to work on this problem, you gotta figure out what the actual problem is. When you can explain exactly why it's going for shit, then I'll be on your side. I'm already strongly against the near monopoly on internet in Canada, but I can't share the same opinion with you if you don't know what yours is.

  • I have no ambition to drag u on my side, this is not my intention. The problem is they are trying to push their agenda by gradually implementing more and more control and restrictions. This video explains this problem pretty well. They 'are doing it little by little so to do not stir the waters and cause riot. And it's going to get only worse! The absolute worse that we all can do is to do nothing.

  • Good, I understand that you understand. The question is what do we do about it. It's all fine and well to comment about it on youtube, but if you want to change things, you need to actually do something about it. So what do you think should be done?

  • The control of information, they are trying to control internet content because people are spreading information so fast and learning what truly is going on with world government. If they destroy net neutrality you would have internet like in China.. controlled information.

  • I say we just go down there to the Candian government, and knock their teeth in eh. Fuckers.

  • This is one of the many reasons why Canada sucks royally! At least Obama wants NN and isnt afraid to push for it as where in Canada the politicians have their head stuck up their a**es. They are to worried about shoving Canadian content down the throats of all Canadians. I say screw the Canadian government! They are nothing but communists anyways. Its funny that some Canadians knock down and make fun of the US, but when it comes to this kind of stuff, the USA enjoys more freedom than Canada

  • Google: ftballbubbabear "I live"

  • WTF?

  • Indeed, WTF, someone who pretends to live in the states, actually living in Canada! Pretty pathetic don't you think?

  • I spoke out in the CRTC consulting sessions and switched my home phone and internet to a small 100% Canadian owned and BASED (no off-continent call-centers) company. If you are able to, do the same. In any case talk to your MP and express your views.

Net neutrality will protect Open Source (Free) software development, independent artists, independent journalists and even yourself should you ever decide to promote your views online.

  • Great video. Right now the CRTC is doing nothing to protect us and even allowed Bell to introduce additional measures to downgrade small ISPs' services (such as forcing them to switch to Usage Based Billing). That, combined with throttling small ISP customers will severely damage the competitiveness of our market and reinforce the monopoly. Unfortunately, we're a spineless nation and we just take all of the abuse and beg for more.

  • My media professor introduced me to this video, and I would like to say Good Job on attempting to raise public awareness of this issue. It just shocks me that an important video such as this has less than a thousand views while some entertainment videos get millions of views. It all goes to show, we have to keep fighting and keep educating.

  • No matter how many times I try, the clip won't finish loading so I can watch it. It's even booted me out of trying after a few seconds of watching it....

  • Hm Can someone keep me posted on this cause my IPS is shaw im wondering if this Net Neutrality has passed and is still open
