Probably the dumb US State department thinks Poles should only come on a tour group. Besides Brites don't need a visa to visit the USA but they still require Poles to have a visa.
Thanks for your comment. That is true, I can travel under the visa waiver scheme, unfortunately my wife can not. It is their loss, we will spend our holiday somewhere else!
We were gutted but we won't let them have the satisfaction, we will go to Europe instead. Your Canadian govenment changed the rules and allowed Poles to enter under the visa waiver program, so why can't the Americans?:(
I think they're afraid of North Dakota becoming a Polish colony or something equally weird. I met a lot of Russians in Chicago of all places on one trip. I'm echoing your "why not?"
Canadians and Americans belong to very different political species...
I have given up with foreign holidays these last few years, it used to be fun, but it seems to just be hassle now..I am going to see of good old Britian :) (and freeze my bum off doing it!) lol
Thanks to Dominika (and her love of England) I have been thinking more about holidays here too, I plan to visit Wales or the Peak District over the next year or so!:)
I know I really should have, I mean Clinton was great friends with Bono after all!
I just checked on the net, 27 EU countries can travel to the US without a visa, including Slovenia, but NOT POLAND! Something to do with their governmment not matching up to some rules your government has:(
Go figure....if I really had any influence with the government,I would be lining up for my slice of the $850 billion dollar bail-out pie. I think my finances would reflect the need!
LOL! Earlier this year Canada allowed Poles to travel there on holiday without a visa, if they can see the financial benefit to added tourism why not the US?:(
Anthony...I can't figure out my government, and so I don't know how you could. Why not just go to Mexico and walk across the border like the 35,000,000 illegals ahead of her?
You should give them a link to your channel which is adequate proof of anyone that you have strong enough links to the EU to bring you back here whatever massive temptations (heh) live in the USA might offer.
You're welcome. And I know how to sympathise with your situation, I've been there. My wife is Belarusian, and she can't get a UK passport because we live in Poland and a Polish passport she can't get because I'm British, not Polish, even though the rules say we are supposed to be all on the same basis in the EU. It's a joke. Countries are a joke made up to give jobs to otherwise useless people.
That is a crazy situation and I feel for you, travel (especially to the US) is a passion of mine and knowing we cannot travel there together made me mad!:)
AND the US have their missile bases in Poland pointing over at Russia ... but I hear that Obama may relax the rules soon so we live in hope of that!:)
perhaps, but visa rules are relaxed by the US attorney general with the advisory of the Secretary of State. Hillary Rodham Clinton is poised to become the next Secretary of State.
and Paris is the most romantic place in the world. Maybe for your 5th wedding anniversary you can go to Las Vegas (if they allow you to get a visa) it is their loss really since Dominika you are one of the sweetest people on youtube. Maybe the grumpy face at the Embassy was jealous of your beautiful smile!
Anyway don't forget to go to the Louvre and the Vatican since they are out of this world beautiful x
sorry to hear about your having to change your plans about the honeymoon, but look at it this way. as long as you have your honeymoon, that's the most important thing. i hope you have a good time on your honeymoon. i'm actuaklly being sincere when i say that.
This was one of the most sad days in my life because I know how much you wanted to go to US but we will have wonderful holiday anyway:) I love to spend everyt minute with youxxxxxxxxxx
I got grilled for going to Canada in 2005 and in 2004 to NY on a 5 day trip. The US is very tight & I am a British Citizen, they say our country is going to be shut off.
You best stay here . Look at it this way least you are together. At least you have jobs. I bet you will love Paris.
Granted ,it is not a nice feeling to be banned from anywhere, however then think of
THE CLOSED SECRET COURT we have here & parents banned from returning to fight for contact to children.
Well said Linda, it was frustrating for Dominika to be denied entry over something so trivial, I have been over a dozen times in the last 5 years without so much as a hiccup.
wow, too bad Dominika couldn't get that visa. Anymore people in charge of visas are a bit paranoid. maybe she can try again later so you both can go visit the grand canyon?
Hi Brian, it was a sickener and applying is a costly process so we won't try that again! We may get Dominika a British Passport when we are married to avoid this situation but, in the meantime look forward to videos from Paris and Rome! Thanks for your support my friend:)
Paris in the springtime, sounds good. I've only ever been through Rome, so can't comment too much. But, it looked like a great place & there's no jetlag either.
BTW Well done on containing your probable exasperation :)
What a romantic way to deal with such crummy news. I wonder what the Canadian embassy would have said? Paris is fab. haven't done Rome but I love Venice and other bits of Italy. You'll be so on cloud 9 that you won't mind where you are as long as you're together. Cheers, Lesley
As a persona non-grata here in the UK I know what you're going through - that's a rough break and ridiculous grounds -sounds like You Tube when it pulls partner rejection letters out of it's backside!
Anyway, I've been to Vegas many times and lived there for a short time too -
AND I've lived in Italy and been to Paris and Rome often- honeymoon territory if there ever was!
I caught the Vegas bug a few years ago, but what was more upsetting was that we cannot meet up with some friends like we planned. But I know we will love our alternative honeymoon just as much!:)
You are right! And we have saved a packet and feel slightly better knowing the money will be spent in the Eurozone and not to bolster the US economy!:)
Something to do with "providing insufficient evidence of our intention to return to the UK once our trip has ended." Obviously marrying an Englishman and both if us living and working in the UK isn't enough. People apparently go to the US on holiday and then ... vanish!:( An unbelievable decision, I wish there was more to it but there isn't.
What????? That just wrong. I swear this country has lost it's mind. Maybe Obama will change this. But from my persective Paris is a great idea. Luck to both of you
Thanks Joy, why Poles need visas and most of Europe does not is beyond me, Bush increased the number of countries recently but not to include Poland. Shame, but we are over it now!:)
Watch, Africa will want to see which of their countries may qualify, but they'll be mad when none of them will. So far NO African country is qualified for a visa free 90 day holiday entry.
Thanks Carol, the EU (most of Europe) is like one big country now, you can live and work in any of the member states, get medical help etc. Most have the same currency The Euro too, makes life easier!:)
Good luck to you. We were suprised to say the least but one rule seemed to fit all. I can understand the rule, I just don't see how it applies to us, of course we are returning home, we live and work here!:)

Typical yanks! And after we let them come over here and take up so much space with their statues (was one of them Batman??) Now then Anthony - if Dominika still needs a touch of Vegas after the romantic Paris/Rome trip, there's always Blackpool!! Just as good and the fish and chips are better ;O)
That really sucks! Well at least the American economy doesn't need your money right now /end sarcasm/
It seems to me that your alternative plans will be just as great! I'd love to visit Paris and Rome! I've done Vegas once, but Paris? That would be fantastic!
Thats just stupid! They let anyone in to visit, and you two are so nice. I wish I could sponsor you in. But I don't live in wonderful Vegas..But dreary Greensburg Pennsylvania.
Ellen, Natasha, Jolanda and I can show you the windmills, the wooden shoes, the Keukenhof and the Zaanse Schans ! You can taste our stroopwafels, drop and bitterballen !

That's a bummer Dominika and Tony! I was really lookin' forward to seein' you two again! Guess I'll have to fly over to YOUR side of the pond again then! :)
They wouldn't let you in to wait inside? That's just mean. The Land of the Paranoid, they should call it. But your second choice of venue actually sounds much more romantic and beautiful. It's America's loss!
Thanks Julia. Bush recently allowed 8 more EU member states to travel to the US like (like us Brits) without a visa, unfortunately Poland wasn't one of them. But our plan B be is more than a poor substitute!:)
well that sucks bro @sis thats just bullsh8t ok i guess that what happen after 9/11 ok well i feel sad for u but the bright is rome @paris wow have fun ok later peace
Well that blows. Sorry to hear that. Amazed to hear that they are so stringent on issuing tourist visas over there. I'm not too fond of Vegas though, the cab drivers are rude, cigarette smoke everywhere and I lose all my money. I prefer Cancun, Mexico. Ha! Have fun in Paris and Rome you two.
I enjoyed your vid.

You are probably right Steve, it is a good alternative, we just had our hearts set on Vegas though (possibly me more than Dominika!;)

Thanks Gary. I have never been to Cancun, it always sounded good to me but, then again so does California!:)

Sorry to hear the no entry. Hopefully you'll both be able to go another time (fingers crossed). ;)
