Thanks for responding. I hope you pray for your healing, if you're suffering from an ED. I know how difficult it is. It controls every thought, every day, and makes you/anyone feel helpless and discouraged. But God gives healing and hope and encouragement. Pray specifically for those last 3 and you'll be on the road to peace, joy and good health. ((hugs))
Hello. I just wanted to say THANK YOU for what you said in this and the previous videos! Thank you for caring and sharing your experience. May God always be with you. PAX CHRISTI! :)
I personally haven't and am not struggling with any eating disorders but I've watched both of the videos and I think that the truths from theses videos has helped me. It's easy for me, being on the more quieter side of people, to sometimes feel insecure about who I am. So thanks for posting these, and I was also wondering where that verse is found that you mentioned about the dwelling in the secret place is found. Thanks again. :)
I was going out with a great man for almost 2 years. when we started going out I weighed to much.. something like 200 lbs and I started to lose weight trying to make him happy by going to the gym then started skimming meals for weeks at a time, abusing diet meals, and last I toke laxitives and water pills. When I weighed in at 90 he broke up with me he said I was sexy with some meat on me now I look like bones. So keep that in mind. Since then I have had a feeding tube now am back to the game.
Wow. I'm sure you already know this, but for anyone else who reads it, any type of weight changes should be for our own preference, not for anyone elses, and done in a healthy way. In your case, your boyfriend probably liked you just find when you were 200 lbs or he wouldn't have started dating you in the first place. =)
I think it's very hard for some people to just let go and be who they are, but it's so vital! I'm a guy and I'm not attracted to the overly skinny body type. Bones showing through skin just grosses me out! People like LUCYinLA are a lot more attractive to me than the average fashion model. And I'm also a lot more attracted to someone who is satisfied with themselves. Someone who never thinks they're good enough is a real downer, and is not the sort of person I like being around.
And since I have heard some women say "saying a women is curvy is just a nice way of saying she is fat" before let me make it clear when a guy says a woman is curvy he is talking about Salma Hayek curvy. Trust me he is not talking about the morbidly obese "fat pride" women you see calling them selves curvy.
I'll add to the things that have been said. Men are not looking for girls that look like the models in the fashion mags (or shows). Men (the ones looking for women) don't look at fashion mags.
So women out there if you're basing what guys want on some fashion magazine you are way, way off.
i can back you up...i am skinny and i am not perfect, i have strecth marks, cellulite, etc etc,...i am not ashamed to admit it. Thank you once again for sharing these videos. x
Thank you for taking the time and effort to make this, biblegirl - a spiritual perspective on the experience of eating disorders is truly the only way out. :o)
Perhaps the reason you experienced relief from this is that you were assured of your parents' unconditional love when they prayed for you. In my life not being able to control my Dad's passivity was a factor which spilled into insecurity in other relationships. You are so right about Phil 4:8. It takes constant vigilance. A helpful book for me has been "Lies Women Believe" by Nancy Leigh Demoss. Even as a Christian we have wrong ways of thinking and don't even realize it.
I wish it was just because of my parent's reassurance. If that were the case, I would have been healed of the Fibromyalgia by now. For some reason, for that particular disease, God put the healing power in the hands of my parents.
I've been completely free from it for many years! That's how I know God can set you free. Just don't beat yourself up. Keep asking for His help over and over again. The bible says to present ALL of your requests to God, all the time, on every occasion! There is nothing in your life that's not important to Him! He loves you just the way you are and is not judging you. He wants you to be free from this. So don't stop asking until you are!
Just because I was told to pipe in, and I believe what I say aswell. For me personally, I don't care how skinny you are.. it's personality that is attractive, and that attrativeness can be 10,000% more attractive(for lack of a better word) then any air brushed model.
"Let go and let God" - this is an essential part of 12 step programs, too, right? Had an ex who was in NA years back, so my memories are vague on this.
"Live in freedom" - YES! YES! YES!
:-D
Ps. Fashion magazines are unhealthy for everyone, me thinks.
I don't know if that's in a 12 step program or not. You know, last year was a horrible year for me. At one point, when I was praying, God impressed one statement on me, that you just reminded me of. I was crying and miserable, and I heard this... "You're learning to live free" That's been my motto ever since. Thanks for reminding me! I am learning to live free!
When I married my husband I was thin. We had a baby and I gained a lot of weight unable to lose it. Even after 9 years he is still head over heals for me and can't keep his hands off of me. He says he loves me for who I am and that he didn't marry a body, but "me". All good men think like he does. Materialistic men aren't worth marrying or dating.
I thank the Lord for your awesome testimony, and thank you for being an encouraging and instructing vessel allowing God to pour out his Anointing on those in need of hearing applicable scripture to this topic.
Wow great video. Where is the "dwelling" quote from in the Bible? I am sort of rediscovering a bit of faith at the moment and there was a lot of what you said in the videos I can now agree with...thanks for not being patronizing with scripture. You have a very good attitude about it.
My comment from last night didn't show up. It's Psalm 91:1. And there's a really cool online bible at w w w . b i b l e g a t e w a y . c o m . (Remove the spaces) You can search by topic or keywords and fragments of a scripture that you can remember, and take you right to it. You can even choose your translation.
hi! thanks a lot for this video. i have had an eating disorder since about january 2006. i am currently, and have always been in a normal and healthy weight range. but i am miserable, i starve myself and usually end up binging. i only lost about 15 lbs. occasionaly i purge. i don't have any adult i can talk to about this, but you are so friendly, and i was wondering if i could have your e-mail , because i have some more questions and stuff. i really appreciate your video! thanks!!
I think it's probably easier to get over things like this when you have something to cling to, like Christianity. What about those people who have no religious beliefs? You have made some good points.
I don't know how to help someone who doesn't believe in a higher power. I guess that's part of what I'm getting at in these videos. I never could have done it on my own. Especially not with such drastic results! But I have proof in the healing power of Christ. So why not believe? :)
Or maybe it's doesn't have to be something religious to believe in, perhaps finding faith and hope in family would be benificial also. But then that means putting your faith in people - something I'm also very reluctant to do!
Aaaahh. Another problem. People will always let you down at some point. Not because they mean to, but because they're human and we're all imperfect. God will never let you down :) Because HE loves you and not only wants something better for you, but knows just what to do, to help you gain your freedom.
Your video has really helped me!I have not been struggling with an ED though I was did awhile back but I am struggling with self injury.I know this video is about EDs but I think the things you are saying relate with the struggle of SI.Your video has really encouraged me and I really believe God showed me this video because I felt like you were talking to me when you said God created me and He wants me to be free.Thank you sooo much for this video!I thank God for you and your message!
Yes, it applies to many things. And God absolutely wants you to be free. And when God sets you free, He doesn't do anything halfway. So don't give up until you have COMPLETE healing and freedom. Be blessed =)
I want to amend my previous comment to caution against just replacing one arbitrary ideal of beauty with another. There isn't just one way to be beautiful; there are many ways, and you have a much better start by appreciating what already makes you beautiful rather than striving after some ideal.
As per your request...Yes, guys like women with curves!! And...I hope this doesn't sound homophobic, but...a lot of guys in the fashion industry are gay: if you conform to their ideal of beauty, it's not going to help your love life. (BTW check out the video called "Curves are Beautiful" by "Hope4Serenity." -- especially the description.)
i agree 100% DON`T look at anything on tv and think it`s the least bit real cause its not and thats sad to me cause us real woman NEED to see real woman so that we dont feel so bad about ourself that we would take such actions, like starving ourselfs or any of the above, really happy to see you takin the bad in ur life and talkin about `em ,to try and help other,if we`d all just talk bout these things,i believe we can saves lives, cause being all alone to deal w life, isn`t good for anyone
Oh, Lisa. That was so very well said. Thank God for you and thank God for parents who are prayers! And I also want to say I am happy you are free from this...Syd
I'm thankful that I'm free. And I'm thankful that I'm able to share this, in hopes that others can become free. They're the ones I'm praying for! There literally, are lives at stake!
Your message is very positive and inspiring. I struggle with a lot of issues and used to have an eating disorder as well. I think it's nice to see some positive advice to go along with the cries out for help that come from those in pain. I really like you.
Thank you so much. I listened to your message and it was very helpful

Thanks for adding to the comments :) All the men I respect will be quick to say they like a woman with a figure. They're not attracted to a stick.
And I know one of those women who is morbidly obese and calls herself "curcy" *sigh* We have people with issues on both sides of the subject.
