HI the music and explanations weel given for counting, but looking at the feet does not learn the weight transfer and the most basic move of the latin dancing. beginners, dont loose your time and, learn that first (merengue is good to do so)

Someone please donate a better camera for these videos, they are great but the quality is worse than some cellphone cameras...

Great instructions though, everyone should learn how to dance, even if its not in a way that confines you to a set of predetermined steps. I guess once you get the hang of it, feeling the music will kick in and the steps will come more naturally.

Once you get the hand of salsa the biggest thing to remember is the 1-2-3 (never get off that beat) and if you are a girl to keep your arms soft <-- in the sense that you have to let him lead you so that when he turns you it will come naturally. The whole arms thing was my biggest challenge. But then again Ive been dancing salsa since I was like 3 so it was probably easier for me. Oh also, make sure the floor is DRY. There was a spilled drink at a party and that plus salsa = dislocated shoulder

Yeah, they say so, and as long as there is no music, they are walking like this!

With no music they go: 1-2-3-...-5-6-7-...

If you skip to 1:43 and on when there is music, they go 1-2-3-5-6-7. They skip the pause when they actually dance!

If you try to move like 1-2-3-...-5-6-7-... you find yourself short of beats to move your feet to!

I just think they should learn to count the music before learning how to move to it!
