  • That was beautiful to watch, thanks @wamux211

  • At 500 and you're far from having a hint of airstrip... Huge balls!

  • Oh man it's really foggy

  • Man, balls of concrete. Flying along in soup...then there is the runway!

  • :O

  • what does minimum mean? And did they just turned atuo-pilot of on 0:58?

  • This is when an avionics guy see the point on aligning the Glide and Loc to the centre dot ;)

  • That's when an avionics guy can see the point on aligning the Glide and Localizer to the centre dot :)

  • @0554159459 Ah shit don't hijack please!!!!!

  • @Gamebreaker08 hahahahaha

  • The video of the approach was good for ILS even with the hard landing. However, you listen to all that rattling noise its sounds like he flying a 1950's Ford in need of a valve job.

  • the quality is a little bit bad..

  • Look at the MFD!!! Brill Vid!

  • So you are supposed to rotate at V1?

  • @dpurdue Right after it, sequence is V1 Rotate v2

  • como vergas le hacen para aterrisar sin contacto visual

  • i have a question. maybe it's a pretty stupid one, but who must i contact if i want to film inside of the cockpit during a take off and landing? i think it's kind of hard, these days, with all the terror. I'm a really big aviation fan and love to film.

  • tell the pilot or a flight attendant.. and maybe u can let them borrow your camera.. but i dunno. I would love to that too lol.

  • i've been in a 757 cockpit before and talked to the pilots, but now i'd like to film the take off and landing. i don't know if i would let the crew film with my camera, since they wouldn't know how i want it to be filmed. :) but thanks for your answer, anyway!

  • Yea i know what you mean. You should still ask, who knows! U might have some luck :) and your welcome eh!

  • joli

  • wow I thought 0:03 was over the clouds and its said ''1000'' :P

  • I just love it how all of you are pilots on youtube =))

  • I know huh lol.. So what are you? Because im an Astronaut lol jk.. When your behind a computer monitor, sitting down on your grandmas basement, you can be anything u want in the world, a Pilot, Astronaut, a millionaire, a hot sexy guy/girl LOL all those things.. So I agree with you :P

  • Auto land means 'autoland'... last information I had is that the pilot must ensure the aircraft stops, but 'autoland' means just what it says.

  • hey do you flight the ILS????

  • Questi si che sono piloti con le palle...

  • da dove lo capisci?? atterrano col pilota automatico!

  • Planes do not exactly autoland..... They have an approach function on their autopilot which fly's the approach for them until they reach a certain altitude where the pilot disengages it and lands manually....

  • @ludapimpdogg Certified planes can land themselves... on a CAT III approved ILS.

  • wow.. intense.

  • "minimums" indication was too close to land, wasn't?

  • as far as i know minimums is above 100 not under strange huh.Maybe is the fog:)

  • yep, you're right, i think.....

  • the minimums can change based on the CAT of ILS they are doing..the minimums can be around 200' on down to an autoland with no minimums..looks like this approach was a CAT IIIB with a 50 ft. DH..

  • Minimums has nothing to do with autoland and there is no such thing as "autoland with no minimums" there will always be minumums whether autoland is used or not. Minimums is the height in which the flight crew must verify that all stabbilised approach criteria have been met in order for them to continue the approach.

  • In ILS CAT III b and c there are is minimums, the autopilot can lead the plane all the way down the runway

  • @B738pilot Thats pretty much what I said lol

  • @PhantomBadass i meant there is no minimums :)

  • @B738pilot There is minimums, there always is wether autoland is used or not as this is when the flight crew decide whether to complete the landing or not (or let the autopilot do so in this case) you can hear the GPWS call the minimums at around 50 feet on this video. In some airlines SOP's the pilot monitoring will call "Decide" and the pilot flying will call "Land" or "Go Around" depending on the situation. This is the same as minmums called by the GPWS.

  • question to all you commercial jet liner pilots when the navigation system is in gps mode, do you still have to make adjustments on the autopilot panel?

  • I never knew that planes could 'auto-land'

  • I think even if I knew I was doing an autoland and I was perfectly on course and gs and everything, I'd still get a heart beat until I finally see the rwy lights! I even get it when I'm on my flight sim some times...

  • how do i calculate or know the distance from where i am to the point located?

  • if the beacon is equipped with DME, that'll tell u and if not, stop the time and check ure speed...

  • trust instrument.

  • das nenn ich mal Nebel! Gute Arbeit!

  • If im correct it was the auto pilot disengaging.

  • Wow !! Passengers miss a lot, that's for sure ! what was the noise heard between 0:59-1:01? Anyone knows?

  • The autopilot disconnecting if you mean the meya..meya...meya.

  • It's the desactivation of the Auto-Pilot! =)

  • A.P. disengage. When this occurs pilot starts to control a/c because on autoland sometimes airplanes start to go right and left because they come too close to localiser it may be dangerous.

  • it does that its not bad it just happens when u disactivated

  • is the autopilot disengage sound

  • good work sir*****

  • thank god for radars

  • no, thank man for radars

  • Thats gotta be the hardest landing ever

    !

  • Neither one was a hard landing, don't judge by the shaking, thats the camera. if you watch other videos of landings you will find this is very common and not an indication of a hard landing.

  • that's why it was an auto land.

  • Both normal landings, the shaking camera and the loud sound trick you to think it was hard, but it was normal

  • Interesting seeing the yoke moving around so much on the CAT III, it's pretty much just like it was being flown by a human with all those fine adjustments being made.

  • This one is soooo Cooool!

  • Always use Rear fog lamps under these conditions!

  • amaaaaaaaaaaaazing vedio , thanx captain

  • What is it sound in 2:39 . It`s scary

  • Nose wheel tyres braking on the snubbers in the wheel well.

  • Either gear or flaps.

  • @Sseba1 the sound is means that the landing gears go up and close

  • @popkamama ok thanks

  • @Sseba1 It is the sound of the brakes. Pilots have to stop the wheels from spinning before retraction

  • Could you tell me

  • just beautifullllllllllllllllllllllllllll:D

  • thank God for instruments and ILS.

  • @gamefan1980 hell yea

  • Can you tell me how do you fix the camera to shoot such smooth video in the cockpit I fly 800 too

  • You can put the camera on the glare shield and tape it down. The second way is to use alot of duct tape and put the secure the camera around the headrest of the jumpseat.

  • ILS LANDING! WONDERFULL

  • Very interesting!

  • autopilotlandung die erste

  • Jo, bei der sicht :)

  • Nice! ILS Cat III. Just a Question: Auto Rollout only in the NG's?

  • NG-series 737's do not have rollout-mode, you can hear the AP disconnecting sound at 1:02

  • can someone tell me how do you set up the AP for landing???

  • You mean ILS approach?

  • Great vid, that looked very much like a CAE sim, although the left bulkhead sugguest a real 737.

Good work either way, its probably the most testing work flying CAT3's, we do not have any in Australia but I still do them in sim training.

    Thanks for the vid :)

  • Would have earned a groan from the cabin, however any landing you can walk away from is a good one ;-)

  • Jesus I know it was a smooth landing but that stall siren would scare the piss outa me!

  • wasn't that the A/P disconnect ?

  • stall? lol?

That was the autopilot disconnecting sound :|

  • can air landing with swich in AP!mean for HDG?????

  • Man!!!

    It's just an awesome landing!

    Sir..my Hand up for +5

  • In parts is ILS. He landed with an ILS CAT III, for visibility under 10 meters. And the lights you can see in the runway is called ALS (Approach Light System), just to give him the reference. That's it

Hugs from Brazil to world wide aviation enthusiasts.

    =]

  • wow it seems like a simulator sometimes for how it looks the landscape through the windshield, but i know its not! :) nice video

  • [ GOOGLE TRANSLATE ]

Yes, indeed it is stopping autopilot. Because when there are a bad meteo The pilot use ILS .. (Indicator landing system!)

  • ILS i think is (instrument landing system!)

  • you're right

  • yeah thats right

  • Instrument landing system.

  • What is that alarm when you land?

  • autopilot off.

  • autopilot off

  • IS THAT SNOW (01.25)?

  • no its ice cream.

  • Wow realy nice :)

  • good video

  • great approach!

  • Great!!!5/5

  • Man those lights are blinding

  • I like that mood in the cockpit during foggy conditions! Feels like home to me. :)

    Was it a cargoplane?

    ty for the video!

  • cat 3 landing

  • how could you feel confident enough to fly when you can't see a thing! that always bothers as a passenger ...

  • Partially because they have Global Positioning Systems, Auto-landing equipment, attitude indicators, and positioning bugs, otherwise pilots would NEVER fly in fog like that.

  • i wonder if it is a simulator....

  • no its not

  • Ref noise at approx. 2:42

It is coming from the so-called "snubbers" in the nose gear wheel well, which act as a wheel spin brake.

  • this can't be real the camera doesn't move a bit compared to other videos

  • You're right, its fake. That's why when landing, the lights reflect so well off the nose.

  • yeah 2:42 is kinda spooky, but its normal,

its when the engine get too much water from the air

  • No it isn't.

  • how much would you get paied?

  • isn´t it gear retraction?

  • i guess, but the air in the video is kinda moist, and it happen to me too in this game

  • It's gear up noise!

  • Negativ! The noise is from gear-up! All the landings are done automatic (auto-land) Cat3A. You can hear the autopilot disengages after touch down and minima at 50ft RA.

  • yea i didnt notice the autopilot disengages, sorry about my mistakes

  • All landing aren't done automatic.

Your correct in that this was a CAT III approach, probably A or B.

Depending on the visibility most aircraft fly manually with ILS and glideslope to follow.

Automatic landing are only perfomed when the RVR is at unreasonable limits hence the catergories.

  • Hi!

    So...

The autopilot disconnects at touch down!

The minima are set for 50 ft.!

In this case both landings are performed auto land Cat.3A!

Maybe at the second one the auto pilot was disconnected with 1 second before touch down, anyway below 10ft...

    For your information:

    *Cat.3A - Decision High is 50ft. or more and RVR 200m or more;

*Cat.3B - Decision High is 0ft. or more and RVR 75m or more.

    Greets!

  • Nice vid!

  • 1000 ha ha ha

  • 2:42 SPOOKY SOUND! HAHA

  • its just the gear locking so nothing to worry about.i am training as a 737-800 pilot and so i know

  • this is a CAT IIIA, MdH of 50f.. nice one

  • can someone tell me why the autopilot doesnt land on the center line when doing a catIII approach or is it just the camera positions in this vid?

  • the aircraft is on the center line... is an illusion...

  • well, if you look at the second landing of the aircraft the center line is on the right side of the cocpit it does not go through the "middle of captain legs" as instructed in the manual, therefore, the aircraft did land a bit to the left, maybe there was a slight crosswind or other issue...

  • dude , just because captain leg is center line isn't it NOT CENTER... the line has to be in the right side window if it in the left side your not centered...

    this isn't a car.

  • thanks, I see that this is not a car... if you look at the second landing it was an ILS CAT III (full autoland) landing. Then look at the center line, it is aproaching to the left (at the end of the video). When I land with ILS CAT III the aircraft does not all the time land on the center line. Try to land with some crosswind up to 15 kts and you will see the aircraft will not land onto the centerline...

  • Did they disengage autopilot just after touchdown?? (alarm sounds like it)

  • They were doing a full instrument approach with autoland. It flies the plane down, then disengages autopilot, applys reverse thrust then disengages autothrottle.

  • Yer I heard the a/p disengage

  • yea must give credit to the pilots doing that, i us fs 2004 using this aircraft in fog its sooo hard some times i crash ;P but now i learnt how to do auto land on it so i never crash wooop ^^ good work Pilots

  • wow awesome

  • Pilots have balls of steel.

  • Yikes!

  • Cool takeoff and fog landings. Landed in Chicago with that much fog.

  • Holy damn! lovley :D

  • That is a scary scenario. Not being able to see the runway unless you are 100 feet above it!

It looked cool though: all of a sudden lights are coming out of the gloom!

  • can u get the plane to land on autopilot on f2004 and fsx as well? plz reply!

  • I would like to think that the one who can master the use of controling aeroplanes in Flight sims, can handle a real aircraft after only one or atmost 2 real flight training. And thats me, but have no money to handle any course at the moment.

  • Yes you can between using the gps or the VOR

  • yeh or just ILS....

  • yes you can- its called ILS, and its quite easy to learn- just google some forums

  • Yeah, when it's an ILS Autoland the autopilot will automatically trigeer off once the main gear touches down.

  • auto pilot turning off is the sound

  • At 58 seconds, what is that 'alarm' I hear? Just curious - love these vids!

  • it is not alarm is the autopilot is turn off signal.

  • autopilot of alarm

  • that was awsome great landings

  • ....y los aplausos donde?

  • been to so many night landings!!! well i should say this vid is awesome!!!

  • oh god...

when u heard approaching mins at 100ft

    its catIII...

and you dont have to disengage the AP between 5k to 2k feet, in this kind of ILS app.

  • oh god...

when u heard approaching mins at 100ft

    its catIII...

and you dont have to disengage the AP between 5k to 2k feet, in this kind of ILS app.

  • one video in subtitule spanish please

  • long live ILS approaches, was that a CATII OR CAT III approah??

  • CAT III - Autolanding, you can hear the autopilot being disengaged after touchdown.

  • man u need to disengage ur autopilot before u can land....disengage auto pilot between 5000 to 2000 feet!!!!!

  • Never ever!

  • hehe, ils i s below 5000 feet. They can auto land wich they mostly do in fog. And autopilot is not disabled in ils until they see the runway

about 300-200 feet or. Am i right wamux211?

  • well for that i agree to u man! say which airline do u belong???

  • FSX virtual airline LOL. The ILS is a part of the autopilot, so if you want to use the ILS you must not disable the autopilot.

  • No, you don't. Not in an autolanding in ILS CATIII conditions.

  • dude trust me!!!! been to that situation and it never fails me!

  • its a cat 2 approach

  • I love this stuff I dream of being a pilot

  • that sound at the end is autopilot or autoland disengaging

  • Its the pilot disengaging the autopilot.Autoland is a capability that is operated through both the aircrafts autopilots

  • it looks freaky trying to land in fog

  • i'm not a pilot by any stretch of the imagination. What does it mean when it says "minimums "?

  • Damn, I have never heard of the minimums being set that low before, I always thought that they were usually arround the 200 or 300 mark. But what do I know. Great Video!
