There are very few artists of Elliott Smith's caliber today, maybe none at all. The same goes for bands like Big Star. I listen to alot of music, some of it more mainstream and some more alternative. But none of the modern music I've heard has the simple beauty and elegance of this music. It's sad to think about but I guess we should feel thankful we got to hear them at all. I think this kind of music is simply too good for the world we live in
