@SaraDottera with the pedal, all you do is hold down the pedal on the far right, and you do quick breaks in between measures when you aren't holding out a note. this helps the music to kind of flow together, and make it really pretty sounding.
Strangely Beethoven and Jane Austen share the same birthdate 16th December. Jane would often get up and make breakfast at 9am and then practice the pianoforte until lunchtime.
@bbdhrggl I definitely plan on reading music, I've already started and know the music staff for treble and bass clef. I'll for sure check out your videos too :)
You play so beautifully! I've wanted to play piano for a long time and I think I've got my parents convinced to get a digital one to start with :) I realize I can't jump right into this song but this question goes with other tutorials too: is the c on the bottom of your piano saying that the key above is the central c key?
Anyways, thanks for all your tutorials, hopefully I'll be able to be at this level someday :)
@amberhunter317 thank you. yes, that sticker denotes the central C key. The camera shifts to the extreme left or right in some tutorials, so that label makes clear where my hands are playing. congratulations on your digital and good luck with learning. Hope you plan to read music. See my website for links to 3 intuitive lessons. :)
oh, it is a tutorial. I believe that you must have criticized by your teacher that you have no strength enough on your fingers. Besides, there are broken gaps between a phrase on your right hand. Or maybe it is because the purpose of this play is a clear show on the notes because it is a tutorial. No big deal. I have also made these mistakes when I learned the piano.
Thank you for giving me the possibility to check whether I'm playing the right way. Since my parents don't want to pay my teacher anymore, I try to learn and improve my skills by myself.
Under your videos you write a level. Which is the highest to reach? 10?
@Poisy81 my level scale is a "guesstimate" that corresponds to the number of years one has been (seriously) playing the piano. I stopped the scale at 10, for most non-professionals approach a plateau by then. Try to fit in 15 min/day of scales and arpeggios practice.
I play piano (not as well as you), and I am really interested in learning how to play this. The thing is, I noticed that the notes in the left and right hand tend to play every other (if that makes sense). I was wondering if you had any tips or addvice on how to learn this. I always seem to have a problem knowing how to start of learning a tough song using sheet music. Thanks! :)
@TheNicklepickle do you mean when the LH is over the RH? to learn any piece, I think the key is to play as slowly as possible. with practice, speed will come naturally. good luck.
Beautiful playing! I'm learning this now and its been very helpful tl have this to watch justo so I can make sure my rythms are right and figure out some of the fingering (because my sheet music doesnt have any written in). The one part i find hard is at the beginning of the peice, measures 9-16 where its three agaisnst two.
Thanks so much for slowing it way down. I find if I can work out the fingering and practice for months, I eventually learn the piece. And, I really love this score.
I am really sorry to dampen the good comments, however, you do look very advanced, but I am not sure weather your hand placement is correct. I am so sorry but on my sheet music it says differently. Maybe mine is wrong?
@twinkletoejam do you mean fingering? everyone has different fingering. For example, check different well-known editions of a chopin waltz. you must choose what best suits your hand structure :)
@twinkletoejam yes some sheet music tells you which fingers to use but its what ever suit. For example my friends is very skilled on the piano but some of the fingerings don't work for her because she has very small hands. while I on the other hand have very long fingers and sometimes I need to switch the fingering around. Cool thing about piano is you don't need to get it perfect and people understand.
Just listening to you play makes me all happy inside. :D You are amazing! I wish one day i might be able to play as well as you. haha (that might take a while) I was wondering, have you done "Charlie Brown Christmas song"? I believe I looked through your videos and couldn't find it.
bad playing???? you played perfectly, you should see my playing! but i have finally managed to play liz on top of the world and now i am learning dawn but i dont have piano lessons so i was just wondering out of interest what grade those two songs would be played at because people kkep asking me what grade i am but as i dont do grades i cant even give them a rough idea. Thanks and great playing :)
I have a keyboard and I have never actually taken piano lessons. So I tried to play this by ear and I had to cross my hands and I assumed that I had hot it wrong because one of my friends said that you are not supposed to cross your fingers or hand.... When After watching this video, I feel really proud LOL
OMG! You are amazing! How long have you been playing the piano? I would love to play this song but i realized i have too small keyboard. Keep up the good work.
This is brilliant! I've started learning this but I'm finding it realy dificult to synchronize both hands even though I play grade 5... Which grade would you say this is?
