I don't understand how bodybuilders get so huge when they're not even that strong? At least not as strong as they should be for their size and weight. I mean I'm not that strong compared to a lot of guys I know, but I'm 155lbs and I deadlift 315lbs & still trying to go up. It looks like he struggled to do 315lb & only got 8reps. Anyone care to explain? I know steroids are involved, but this raises more questions. Steroids make you bigger & stronger right?
@dda030582 bodybuilding is not about the weight you use, it's about what works for your own body to grow, he might not be doing that much weight compared to others, but for his body to enlarge, this is what he needs. You cannot forget when he is about to go into competition, his carbohydrate intake gets thinner and thinner, so that gets rid of energy and strength.
Lastly, like before, it does not matter about the weight you use, he has mastered that and that is why he is #1 in the world.

Plus I think he was doing this more as a strech for his back and the rest of his body then actually doing it to really hit the lower back. Jay said him self in another video he benched 550lb for 3 reps and I know he can dead in the 700's

@dynamcuk They are just lifting straps you can get them on jay cutlers website for pretty cheap to, and if you have never used them before make sure someone around you that knows how to use them properly can show you I mean its not rocket science but theres a technique so you dont take away your full grip you know

@fknthng Jay's a prime example that you dont have to lift stupidly heavy to get results, he adopts a higher intensity modo and ramps up his workouts plus he's a volume guy, his muscle respond best to higher volumes. His strength gains are prollly more recent, he wasnt refering to his entire career! He's not trying to powerlift, hes trying to stimulate the muscle. Besides, Jays been doing this for 22yrs+, I think he knows his body better then you know your own body...We'll see come the Olympia!

@REDRAGON12345 Yes, sort of. Remember that all pro bodybuilders think about is how to get bigger, so they do the exercises in the way that affects their muscles just as they want them to. So they dont think about good form or bad form, they think about what works best for them, and what affects their muscles to grow best. And you can be sure that Jay knows his form, and knows exactly what he is doing, he sure aint trying to impress anyone by doing too much weight or anything. Hope that helped :)
@REDRAGON12345 I'm a personal trainer and I allway's harp on form to my clients. But after you have been doing it for a number of years you know your own body enough to know what is safe and what isn't. Plus after you get a certain amount of mass you just don't have the same flexability and range of motion regular peaple do. Hope that helps.

@REDRAGON12345 Yes, sort of. Remember that all pro bodybuilders think about is how to get bigger, so they do the exercises in the way that affects their muscles just as they want them to. So they dont think about good form or bad form, they think about what works best for them, and what affects their muscles to grow best. And you can be sure that Jay knows his form, and knows exactly what he is doing, he sure aint trying to impress anyone by doing too much weight or anything. Hope that helped :)

@REDRAGON12345 I'm a personal trainer and I allway's harp on form to my clients. But after you have been doing it for a number of years you know your own body enough to know what is safe and what isn't. Plus after you get a certain amount of mass you just don't have the same flexability and range of motion regular peaple do. Hope that helps.

this takes a great amount of mental and physical toughness to reach the top, and thats exactly what jay has done..performance enhancers or not, these guys put their heart and soul into this shit, so at least give props for their dedication.

see how he swings the dumbbell at a slight angle back towards his hip in the dumbbell rows (as opposed to bringing it straight up closer to his shoulder)? Seems like all the pros are doing it that way these days... just watched a clip with Victor Martinez doing it the same way. It works the lower lats a lot better try it people!
