the environmental costs of fossil fuel production and those associated with its use are not taken into account. The price we pay for oil is much less then the real price.
Furthermore we need to impose tax on crude to promote lower usage and the switch to alternatives, not make it cheaper.
Why is everyone attacking this guy, he is just an oil consultant. There are thousands of oil consultants. Who buys the oil? Where were all the research grants given in the field of engine design. Who owns all of the non-gas engine patents? It's much more subtle than people think.
This guy is saying that if Bush wouldn´t have stockpiled that specific type of oil, price would not have gone up to 147 and we wouldn´t be in this recession.
Apaprently you don't understand the concept of natural gas storage. We pump gas into the earth during the warmer months when it's not used as much to meet demand during winter months.
Yeah, all that name dropping in the beginning of his talk - puhlease! Funny though that he brags about all his economic advising to US gov bodies, but doesn't seem embarassed that the economy turned bad - not that it would be HIS fault ;-)
We'll have to give up on petroleum at some stage. Not only is it too polluting, the oil nations have the West by the balls.
Philip K. Verleger doesn't come across as a responsible or trustworthy person. He seems like a shill for the oil industry, a pollution advocate and an opponent of all environmental regulations.
The oil industry has made enough of a mess of the Earth. Humankind is going to pay a price, not in money, for that mess.
Good explanation. Amazing idea. Keep them coming.

ww2 the continuation
WW3= NWO post oil based civilisation.
the transition time is now with a factual reserve loss of 5-7% per year

Exxon & the rest of the world fuel cabal make the price do what they want it to when they want it too
They have ended the making of refiners and capped Iraqi oil wells in order to artificially lower supply
In fact, in Gill Island, Alaska, Exxon pumps over one billion cubic feet of natural gas back INTO the earth every day!
There is plenty of oil - But insiders create the so-called cycles to make money
If I was wrong, I wouldn't be making so much money off this fact!

When I hear talk like that, first thing I want to know is, who´s paying that guy.
The Stone Age didn´t end because they were running out of rocks.´
