  • LOL< I DO THAT FOR SOCCER CONDITIONING.

  • Yes you can do Crossfit anywhere if you think about it. You really dont need all what they had in the video but with the community of crossfiters we are just about crazy enough to say.. "F*CK IT.. lets do a work out over here grab some stuff".. and he just said it.. "most people come up here to look.. we actually came up here to do something".. and yes some random person off the street can do Crossfit just like the fittest man and woman...

  • ha ha ha what ridiculous

  • Thumbs up if you performed many exercises with terrible form today!

  • I've got an idea let's take a brand that grew via grassroots internet community and hand it's marketing over tothe WORST FITNESS BRAND in the world. Great idea. Did you hear that? That was the vibe leaving CrossFit.

Seriously. Who wears reebok? I'll tell you. People gullible enough, and with bad enough taste to buy ZIGS and EASYTONES.

I was in FOURTH GRADE when Reebok Pumps came out, and i was smart enough to see through that cheesy marketing GIMMICK. and reebok is still at it.

  • @intheweeds you stupid fuck all companies promote their shoes for you to buy. so they can make money or they wouldnt make the shoe.

and at least crossfit is real fitness , go say that shit on a shake weight video or the rack

  • I know who rich and annie is but who are all the other random people? Did they just pick them off the street? Wheres Jasnon Khalipa, Chris Spealler, Camille-Bazinet Leblanc, Pat Barber, Graham Holmberg, Matt Chan and so on...

  • Man I forgot you all competed in the crossfit games and placed pretty high? Oh wait you didn't, or you would of been on top of the empire state building doing a WOD. Stop being jealous faggots

  • @Lasernate25 whoa there, seabiscuit.

  • its easy to talk shit...id like to see you fucks do what they do...that shit aint easy

  • Regardless of what some of you think of this ADVERTISEMENT, i'm new to Crossfit and it's got me excited for my next WOD, and if it gets a few more people interested in Crossfit then it's done it's job!!

  • thumbs up if you did a wod today!

  • They should do this at Burj al khalifa!

  • i crossfit. this is embarrassing.

  • So Reebok Crossfit is willing to set up all the equipment and stations for me to do a workout anywhere I want, anytime I want? Dude! That's awesome!

In that case, February 2nd, 2012, 4am, in my backyard. Let's do this!

  • You can workout anywhere... if you have tons of workout equipment in place ready for you.

    Who. fucking. knew.

  • I CrossFit. This video is stupid. I really hope Reebok changes course and gets this right b/c they sure are not going to stop with the ads. Reebok....please dont make CrossFitt a joke to people who dont understand what it is. Crossfit is doing fine without you.

  • I love CrossFit, but this video makes it look stupid. Also, as was mentioned elsewhere, don't blame Rich for saying what he said -- you know they asked him to say those things for the video. Rich and Annie are both legit, and they deserve their titles as fittest on earth.

  • THIS VIDEO IS AWESOME!!!

  • Man....Reebok is ruining a good thing. What a lame video. I would rather see the soldier doing a WOD, or highlight people in their home gyms getting a workout in with their whole family. Go grassroots. Not glam.

  • All I will add is fitness lonnie. Now that was a funny video. This one missed the mark completely

  • I was doing "crossfit" long before it was invented. It's called cross training, gymnastics, olympic lifting, etc. I think it's hilarious how "crossfitters" think they invented something new. I even took the month long crossfit elements course to get a feel for it. It is what it is and gets you into generally good shape like any other form of rigorous exercise. $1000 for a 1 1/2 day cert and you got a bunch of newbies "certified in crossfit" that have not a clue about true functional fitness.

  • jumping burpees all the way up the stairs. Now that would be something

  • wait, they marketed a crossfit commercial and there isn't a half naked Camille? Shocking. I can't wait for Beastmodal to rip this pile apart.

  • @figbot2 hahaha too true my man! if they had a half naked Camille this commercial would have a lot more views

  • i do crossfit...... and i hate this video.... takes all the guts out of crosfit... welcome to the world of mass marketing and corperate conditioning.... all about the money

  • wow... no comments for this video. So stupid!

  • Ugh.. as an avid crossfitter. I hate seeing this type of capitalism at its worse.

  • @rangerdoorknob You don't know what Capitalism means.

  • @TheFremenChick It means taking something like Crossfit, and exploiting the culture so you can get away with selling 100 dollar sweat shirts, 50 dollar gloves that you claim are "Crossfit gloves" when in reality they are baseball batting gloves. Don't talk to me about what capitalism is woman.

  • Yeah, it really shows you can workout "anywhere" Rich.....if you bring kettlebells, jump ropes, an olympic barbell with a set of weights, workout mat, and a box to jump on. Oh wait....I'll just throw all that shit in my gym bag. So kewl....crossfit you are.

  • Aside from the normal issues of form, ridiculous and dangerous use of the overhead kettlebell swing (RKC anyone?), this is a good looking video. I do like their everyman/woman approach. Crossfit is successful in getting people excited about working out and that in itself is always the biggest hurtle when one is trying to get "in shape." Good job.

  • @MrGlockhart That swing makes my Pavel hurt.

  • C'mon guys, it's a promo vid, do you really have to analyze everything? It seems to me that you are just going over this in slow motion to try and find any little problems with it that you can! I don't think that it proves you can do fitness anytime anywhere, but they probably just made Rich say that. That doesn't really sound like something he would say about that, but it might be.

  • @ILoveJesus390 I appreciate your comment and you trying to put a positive spin on this commercial, but I think the point is that if its trying to be a promo vid, then at least this time, its an epic fail. Fitness Lonnie pretty much nailed everything that's wrong with this video and why it doesn't really represent CrossFit all that well at all. Not to mention, he gave me my favorite new CrossFit quote - "is that working out or is it...murder?"

  • @buford2143 I did watch Lonnie's vid, and I thought it was pretty funny, but I also agree that it does have problems. They should have taken the stairs and had bodyweight exercises or at least just kettle bells at the top. I also think that the next time reebok does a crossfit commercial, they should focus more on community and less on marketing. I do agree with you for the most part though!

  • so stupid. Reebok is gay

  • @Jstick91101 Reebok has sex with men? Hmm me too! We have so much in common.

  • This is really sad. I'm so excited that reebok stepped up and worked with crossfit without absorbing the brand. But this really misses the mark. It doesn't represent the xfit ethos and makes those who do it look less than what they are with regard to exercise. It should have been less 'produced' and shot from a single long shot the entire wod. At a minimum you should have told us what they were doing, and what their times were. It doesn't even feel like this really happened.

  • This "commercial" looks like a reality show... so it's bad for Crossfit.

  • Crossfit is FINE, AMAZING without reebok. Switch to CFFB to get away from the hype. Pretty people looking pretty in reebok gear. Stupid. Sweaty, chalk covered, starry eyed, folks in a cement floor garage with 40" high barrel box jumps, a few barbells and the cold, cold weather. THAT is all Crossfit needs.

  • While very good, Thorisdottir and Froning are not the fittest nor best athletes in the world. Those who win the decathlon are, which is an already respected, world-wide test of general fitness/athleticism that has been going on for ~100 years (in its modern form) at the Olympics. Thorisdottir and Froning should be trying for that level of truly elite fitness.

  • So they're going to have a lot of these red boxes, with stations, at various places and invite the public to do free circuit training workouts or something to get the word out, it sounds like. If only the cost of the local box here was less than $200 per month..

  • REEBOK, IF YOU READ THIS.... DON'T RUIN SOMETHING THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN DOING SO WELL WITHOUT YOU! JUST SIT BACK AND MAKE MONEY OFF OF CROSSFIT BUT DON'T RUIN ITS BRAND IMAGE!! YOU HAVEN'T BUILT ANYTHING SINCE WOMEN'S AEROBICS IN THE 80'S. NOW JUST RIDE THE WAVE OF CROSSFIT, DON'T TRY TO ALTER ITS COURSE!

  • I'm a newb, it's not about the money, I saw a CF ad, remembered being told about it, and signed up for a fundamentals class. Don't be jaded. Stuff like this brings in new blood. I love it, and am figuring out how to sign up for more classes, get better, and eventually compete. It's not a waste, and what I've learned and you experienced guys already know/why I keep coming back, you're not d-bags, which is why I keep coming back.

  • @kyleassad I think that's great that Reebok's marketing got the word out for you. Unfortunately, the have tainted the true image of CrossFit as well. So as a newbie you may not really have the true feel of what CrossFit has been all about and how they grew INTERNATIONALLY without Reebok, but with a different image. We can go put flyers on everyone's car in the world and that will help get the word out too, but it wouldn't be appropriate for who we are.

  • .. whats next Sketchers?

I love CF but this makes it look like we are d-bags. The money to do this should have been spent giving workout equipment to a school without athletic program. ...I am so embarrassed now.

  • uhhh how can i join this exclusive elite party? i like to train but do i need to be a bad ass with corporate sponsorship to see what it is you guys are doing? feels like they are spending a lot of time rebranding something that already kicks ass. cf has already proved you can do a WOD anywhere anytime. take the stairs next time

  • "This goes to prove you can do a workout anytime, anywhere.". Seriously, the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Because I'm sure there are always barbells, kettle bells and jump ropes at the top of the empire state building. REEBOK FAIL!

  • Watch some of Blair Morrison's videos if you want fitness anywhere, any time..

  • Man Reebok is killing our sports image! This doesn't even make sense! They should just provide the $1m purse for the Games and let CFHQ staff do the rest. CFHQ obviously knows what they're doing if they grew this fast and made it this far without Reebok.

  • Total and complete failure. Why not use the environment to create a workout? You are in the Empire State Building so walk up the stairs carrying a 70 lb kettle bell and do 10 swings at every landing. Do that for time. That would have been a challenging workout and it would have made some sense. This was asinine. You people suck.

  • That is completely lame - "it goes to prove that you can do a workout anytime anywhere." Really?!? I love all these athletes and CrossFit, but I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna just happen to be hanging out at the top of the ESB at 5am and find a kettlebell and think "man I should just bust out a WOD." You know what would have been badass? If they just climbed up the stairs to the top for time!!! You could even throw in 2 burpees per floor to make it spicy...

  • This is so elite! I read elite athletes in the description and fittest on earth. The Olympic athletes need to get their shit together and start training this way. I just can't get over the amount of elite I just saw. Fuck!

  • I like all of the old Rogue Fitness videos, where everyone is running around. Then they just start busting out WOD's. Now thats fitness any where at any time. Not something as gosh as doing a WOD at the ESB. There's no way in hell they would let us regular folks up there.

  • Comment removed

  • I was hoping they'd do jukari in their toners or pumps.

  • Pure corporate shit!

  • Being from around that area and being engulfed in CF for 3 years. I'm sorry but this is stupid. No one could do that but Reebok's crew who paid a ton of money for that access. That's not what CF is about, it's about going to a public park or a beach and unloading equipment with friends out of some trucks and having a great time. This looks like a bad show from Fear Factor.

  • Love CrossFit and I definitely like the visibility that Reebok is bringing to CrossFit, but this was just weird. Isn't bringing the boxes to various locations around the world supposed to help raise local awareness of CrossFit (and Reebok) and then use those assets in sites like YouTube? Other than the crew that participated in this event, how were New Yorkers supposed to participate and learn about CrossFit (and Reebok) at 4am on the top of the ESB? Seems like an event opportunity failure.

  • I am afraid that the company Reebok will take Crossfit so hard that at some point all the real soul of the sport will be forgoten and swept by a corporative and lucrative storm.

  • ewwww... Looks mainstream with just a taste of hipster, all wrapped in a bow by Reebok =(. .. well at least it's not Sketchers.

  • Next up, a 100 Burpees for time flashmob in times square.

  • Keith I am so excited for you!! Great Job!

  • I'm gonna do Fran and when I come back I wanna have at least 200 thumbs up.

  • I thought an AMRAP was As Many Rounds As Possible...not As Many REPS as Possible, as stated in the commercial.

  • @randyvest100 its actually both, rounds and reps, depends on the workout.

  • @at80fl got ya...thanks. Love Crossfit. Just hope Reebok can do it justice and not forget about all the coaches who have poured their life savings into Boxes and dedicated everything to helping individuals reach optimal fitness.

  • Yeah, why didn't they take the stairs? Functional fitness fail!

  • Remember when CF had cool videos ? How about the Nasty Girls in the original HQ gym. This is over the top and ridiculous. I've been Crossfitting over 3 years and train at a box 4 -5 times a week. Not hatin, just sayin...

  • This needs more BOOMSAUCE!!!!

  • If you don't like Crossfit, don't watch it, don't do it, and certainly don't compare it to bodybuilding or Zumba or whatever. Every training has it's own purpose. Crossfit gives you the best of all sports combined. Do whatever you feel is best for you, simple as that :)

  • @Mer134 Everything you said is right, except crossfit does not give you the best of all sports combined. How will doing crossfit help you prep for a football combine, batting a baseball, etc... Crossfit helps you get FIT, nothing else.

  • @SportLeichtRensport I might have explained myself a bit unclear. My point was, that crossfit uses elements from all kinds of sports, with some exceptions of course, like batting a baseball. ;)

  • Strong, sweet people, up high. CF Up!

  • Why didn't they take the steps?

  • @pmcv because that might actually be something DIFFERENT and that doesnt seem to be a word cross fitters know.

  • cooler if they were carrying weight up ESB stairs for time

  • X-Fit Hipsters doing it again! Take the stairs next time and do a real program for once. Oh, how convenient that the equipment was dropped off before hand? Lame-ass pieces of shit.

  • @NoHomoXFit did you actually create a youtube screen name for the sole purpose of identifying yourself as anti-crossfit? Now THAT, my friend, is even lamer than this commercial.

  • @NoHomoXFit Way to hide behind an internet profile just to talk crap. It really helps your case out

  • Haters...it's called a promo! You people have to stop looking into it with a magnifying glass...

  • sorry Reebok

  • And ? big deal so what you can get up 2 AM to get somewhere for 4 am!! this is absolute nonsense. I am more than sure most of those athletes thought this was ridiculous. but they don't say anything because they getting paid by rebook.

  • Fucking hell, this is gayer than Elton John and Clay Aiken in a hot tub. If you're so fucking fit why bother with the elevator?

  • This thing is a bit silly...no one would be allowed to do this without a permit.

  • The most ridiculous CF video I've ever seen.

  • maybe I'm clueless, and I'll concede the coolness factor...but beyond that, what's the point of this video really? Who can go to the observation deck at the Empire State Building and do a WOD? Further, who would want to, when you have to pay to get there? Just go to Central Park at a reasonable hour and go for it. I love CrossFit, but this simply strikes me as over-indulgent and otherwise pointless

  • @buford2143 They are just doing a WOD in multiple parts of the world at recognizable places.

  • "Most people come to Ground Zero as a place to remember those who lost their lives and celebrate the American spirit as it is rebuilt. We came here and actually did something."

    -Rich Froning

  • @damonryde I don't think he said "Ground Zero" since the Empire State building is not. I think he said most people come here to look around. Thought I would jump in nicely before everyone started bashing the quote.

  • @damonryde Is that what he really said? I heard "Most people just come up here to look. We came in here and actually did something." Don't misquote to make the guy look like an anti-American jackass. They were at the Empire State Building, not Ground Zero. Those sites are 4 miles apart. Can you even see the Sept 11 Memorial from there? Either way this video is a self-indulgent waste of time and doesn't help Crossfit's image at all. This is why Reebok is always second place.

  • Comment removed

  • very nice! thats a petty awesome place to have a workout at!

  • 4 am!!??!! Hmmm, pretty good, still a little vague for what CF is really about (msg = still for the elite v. bringing elite practices to profoundly improve the Average Joe).

  • and to quote the opening gambit " we want to show people that fitness is something that can be done anywhere, at any time. The point I think they are missing from that statement would be 'and by anybody...' It is a good job that is missing because clearly that is no represented in this promotion, but it ought to have been included. Reebok you are missing out on a massive market share of people that need to get fit....your call though

  • I don't hate this but I do dislike it. Reebok are promoting the sport element which is fine and nothing wrong with that message but it does not represent in any way the community aspect of CrossFit (as I know it). I do like their video showing Reebok employees old, young, fit and not so fit all working towards a goal. I can't see that being advertised nationally but it should be. Shame only people who know what CrossFit is all about will get this.

  • Doesn't it seem like Reebok is trying to claim "the sport of fitness" name? I thought CrossFit coined it. Watch out.

  • I would have had them doing box jumps up against that fence looking over the ledge. Pretty lame video in that it just looked over crowded. In other words, there was no real spectacle.

  • Just when the traditional CF montage started getting corny enough, they do it up in the empire state building...

    so weird...

  • before all the hate starts..I think this is great! Crossfit started off as nothing and now its going to be something. Its getting people to do exercise. Its taking over. Happy days.

  • Good job for once reebok, this is what the community wants to see.

  • @mdrassler If they had just given me the actual WOD description and top finishing times it would have been what I want to see. I don't want to see a commercial but I'm willing to watch one if I get something useful.
