Hate to open a can of worms here, BUT... what if we shouldn't be basing doctrines off of mans interpretation of a book in the first place? what if, like in days past.. God actually speaks to prophets and reveals scripture that we find coincides perfectly with the written word God has already given us. What if the doctrine of vicarious baptism is doctrinal and further supported by 1 Peter 4:6 that teaches Christ taught to spirits in prision. What if we stopped trying to explain away sacred things
@rambojoe2323 What if the scriptures or "sacred things" aren't sacred at all, but are just products of men? Consider that it's all written by men, and there there is no god, that there is no evidence to support the existence of any gods. Aha!

"Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only." (James 2:24) In that chapter James explains how faith and works are intertwined and are both necessary for salvation.
@Troul478 Ephesians 2:8-10. God has predetermined our good works. You are not going to heaven because some merit of yourself. And if you think that you are probably not going to heaven. Give Christ all the Glory or He will send you to Hell for stealing.
@Eyedenn Also you will have to work out your salvation with "fear and trembling" (see Philippians 2:12) like all of us. There is no shortcut to salvation although many have tried to find one in the Bible. There is no alternative to keeping the Lord's commandments.
@Troul478 Indeed my brother. We must do good works, we must do a very big effort killing sin in our life, to love, and loads of more things that our Savior tells us to do.
But this is not the hope of our salvation. All these things will glorify God, which is our chef goal in life.
So, all this effort is not getting us into Heaven. Instead, read Phillipians 2:13. All is from God, who gives us according to His will.
@Eyedenn So, believe in Christ, rely on His grace AND keep His commandments and you will be on the safe way. Build your house on a rock (see Matthew 7:24,25) so that it will not fall on the last day. You may not like it, but you will have to leave the judgment to the Lord.
@Troul478 Yes, that's what I will do, and by this I will know that God through His Spirit is working salvation in me, setting a righteous will in my mind and also the works, which makes me sure that only by grace I am saved, not through works.
That is, I am saved ONLY through grace by faith, which is a gift, NEVER by works, but works MUST be there, because they are the predestined works of God for us who believe.
Baptism for the dead, does not automatically save the deceased person, as they still have the right and their own free agency to decide for themselves if they will accept it. Thus the whole theory of the this video is based on a faults idea that the deceased person is some how forced into accepting the baptism and forcible saved. This just is not the case.
Is God a respecter of persons who will damn one and not another simply because they did not have an opportunity to be baptized? I think not

By free choice, by free choice. You must! You must!
Stop contaminating us with words that cannot be found in the Bible.

@Eyedenn So, we disagree in this point, then. No problem.
May God bless you in all your endeavors!
