i just use my ears not bpm counters because i started playing on pioneers cdj500, than was cdj100 and now i have denons dn-s1000 and they are very good 4 me:D
who are these mongoloids saying real musicians dont use bpm? its just keeps thing on time...like someone said mozart used a metronome, for timing. plus quit trying to classify EVERYTHING into two categories of a real musician does this or this is real this is fake, it is the plague of the human mind; duality.
In regards to "Bonk89" 's comment. If real Dj's or ANY musically inclined person is not "real" for counting Beats Per Minute instead of using their ears. Then I guess Mozart, Beethoven, and other great musicians are not "real" either. They used a metronome (aka BPM counter)... PLUS! All Techno, Dance, House, Trance, etc is produced electronically/digitally using BPM tracking software. So the producers of your vinyl scribed music are not "real" either??? Your comment is contradicting Bonk89...
i have a behringer vmx 300 mixer, however this mixer does not have any built effects. Does anyone no of anything of how i can get effects. whether i need a completely new effecter and plug and how to plug it in to the vmx 300? i basically just want effects while still using the behringer vmx 300. please help...
well anyway i have vmx300 also, i dont look at the bpm counter i just like all those lights, lamps, xD, but my players cdj400 have precize bpm counter so i rely on them
'Cause, sometimes on some tracks, even if the 2 tracks are beatmatched perfectly, one of the tracks can go off a bit, and then you have to beatmatch manually = He's practicing on that I believe?
Ya he's probably trying to beatmatch without the BPM readout so he's not "cheating". I just don't see the point in covering up the BPM on the mixer when he has the BPM on his CDJ's not uncovered :)
Yeah but the built in bpm counters in the 1000's are crap, dont work, or maybe thats just mine but theyre definatly a great deck, from upgrading to pioneer i really rate the 1000's dont get a 5000 though i hate mine
With Denon you can save the pitch of the song where you want it. Find where the pitch of the song should be to fit into the next, hit memo and when you bring back up again it will be on beat. The pitch sliders then would not ever have to move if your plan ahead.
I have to add this. This is one of the best mixes I have heard in my life. This is what you should have went into the contest with...
btw, I am still a little skeptical that you are controlling this mix - you are barely touching the knobs - what's up with thqat,. you have yet to explain that part...
Is all about beatmatch, a good DJ never trust in those BPM counters, Trust in his ears, his skills, his feeling, if you thikn that you need those BPM counters, DJing is not for you, besides those BPM never are accurate, so you don'n need it

As a pro DJ u shld use bpm dumass, otherwise u mix JUNK, unless u master the 8count.
If u use to traks that hv different bpmit sounds horible. Againg unless u filter or mix other beats or cues to go with the FLOW.
Brainless360 2 years ago
As long as the mix sounds good it's no problem to use bpm counters, I mean, if otherwise he mixes like shit then who cares?
