Hi, I'm new to photography and this might be a dumb question, but could you please tell me what the differences are between a wired and a wireless flash trigger????
And what would you be preferred more than the other?
And should I get both wired and wireless? or just one of them???
Thanks for taking the time to give your rating on the wireless transmitters. If you do an update of this video, please include your rating on the new Pocket Wizard III
are they now separating the pocketwizard Control TL's into Nikon and Canon systems in order to take care of the problem between the Control TL's and the Canon flashes?
sir i have a doubt. i've a nikon camera. can i use a canon brand flash for off-camera using a radio trigger? or a canon camera with a nikon brand flash using radio triggers? WILL IT WORK?????
@TheIronValkyrie - Batteries such as AA, AAA, C, & D operate off of chemical reaction from the acid inside - if you slow the chemical reaction in the battery you can increase the battery life so many people remove batteries from devices and store them in the refrigerator - it can increase battery life for single use batteries (non-rechargeable) up to 70% especially if they are used infrequently.
Alkalines lose about 2% charge per year at room temperature. Slightly less below about 70 degrees. It would take a decade to have any measurable benefit from being in the fridge.
When stored there is no chemical activity, so how would refrigerating help??
Thank you very for the review! It's really useful! I wonder if you can do a review on the Pixel Knight 332 as well. It's another interesting one. thanks
I shoot a lot of warehouses and big labs...I had to buy 8 Pocket Wizard MultiMax 32 Channel Transceiver Radio Slave for my 7 Monolights. They run @ $300.00 each. X 8 = $2,400.00 = I'm broke.
Just got the cowboystudio npt-04 in the mail yesterday and so far it works great, the only times it failed on me was because my flash is a cheap generic opteka flash thats starting to go bad, i really need to invest in a 430ex or a 580ex for my t1i
You might mention that the paul c buff system, the cybersyncs, have a new version that is made to control alienbees and remotely set them as needed. If you shoot with ABs, then it gives full control of the system.
great video Steele! Answers a lot of important questions. Specifically the tip on the Skyports. Built in battery..? Now way, next. I would change/add your tags...10k views only..?
Btw, What's your opinion on the Phottix atlas? They cost only $50 less than a PWplusII. WHat's the point.
Update....I had been using my flextt5's with my 580exii's and the soft shield. One of my 580's stopped functioning in ettl mode and in manual mode only fired at full power. After some research I found out I wasn't alone. Sent my 3 flexxtt5's back to pocketwizard and they sent me 4 plusii's plus cables and are paying for my flash to be sent to canon for 120.00 at no charge to me. You can take from this what you will.....they did make it right with me. Thanks!
I had Pt-04's (aka Cactus/GI triggers) and they broke after a year or so. I have since gone to RF-602's and I've been loving them every second. Not only do they give me great range, but they also can act as wireless camera triggers.
@ptlofts - I've been very satisfied with my Cactus triggers. Highly recommended. However, my current favorite in the low-budget triggers is the Yongnuo RF-602. See my video review of that product for details.
My cybersync system works perfectly. But, I also have a Nikon system so I have the built-in wireless option if it ever failed. But, I love my Cybersync because I can use it for my studio lights and my off-camera flashes.
I did have problems with my flextt5's with my 580exii's until Pocketwizard sent me the soft shield or sock as they call it and it drastically improved their performance and justifies the price.
@Maxsdiscos - It is not wireless RF, it is wireless IR so might not work outdoors. You can not compare Canon wireless to RF systems like the ones this guy is reviewing........
@Maxsdiscos - The Canon wireless system indeed works great, and I love it -- if your situation fits within its limitations: Line of sight, short range, not in bright sunlight, etc. Radio triggers can help you go beyond those limitations.
wyh cant my canon 5d mark ii trigger my 430EX any help?

@devonmale69 it costs a bomb but gotta say, the central remote is pretty darn sweet, if i am a full time pro.
