Fuck yes this video is awesome. I am now going to go to the beach and rape the first hot female I see, and when I go to court, I'll just say "LIMBIC SYSTEM TELLS ME TO RAPE BEAUTIFUL WOMAN, THOSE ARE MY INSTINCTS YUP" and I'll get off scot free
After prolonged periods of starvation, the body will utilize the proteins within muscle tissue as a fuel source. People who practice fasting on a regular basis, such as those adhering to caloric restricted diets, can prime their bodies to abstain from food without burning lean tissue. Resistance training (such as weight lifting) can also prevent the loss of muscle mass while a person is caloric restricted.
@angelinabertani Genetics dont magically make you fat. Sure they can be a factor in it but they arent the reason that people are fat. You cant get fat unlesss you eat excessively, its against the laws of physics, the calories cant magically seep through your pores from the air, they have to come from somewhere.
@angelinabertani Well from now on, i suppose i can rape every women i see on the beach and kill every guy that look at me the wrong way because well, I AM GENETICALLY PROGRAMMED for it. After all my if my limbic system wants me to survive and procreate, how can i deny it?
@angelinabertani You have to have a pretty heavy caloric deficit to have that kind of response. 1 lb a week is what's considered natural weight loss that the average human body can sustain. 1lb = 3500 calories. So eat 500 cals less than your maintenance a day and you lose 1lb a week. If you're eating 1000 under or crash dieting, that's your issue. The first comment about people not having patience explains this, they try to starve themselves and are surprised when it doesn't work.
Since when did eating your personal required ammount of calories for the day, with healthy foods, and exercising (weights and cardio), become so complicated???
You are right on here. This has to do with the two modes our nerve system is in at every moment of every day! We're in either the parasympathetic (rest & digest mode) or the sympathetic (fight or flight mode). When in the fight or flight mode- WE CAN'T LOSE WEIGHT and keep it off. Thanks for your willingness to be honest and in the top 20% of the population who know the truth about how human physiology works.
Consume less calories than you intake and you will lose weight. I don't care about some lizard brain. And I'm pretty sure a tiger would eat me. Just because my body wants me to live doesn't mean I'll necessarily live.
Also, yes. I understand the starvation mode thing. But that's if you're eating like a muffin or something and that's it. Don't be a lazy ass, take the time to to eat right.
Also - Counting calories is EXTREMELY valuable in terms of a teaching tool. You do it for a couple months - you'll learn what's what. You'll realize certain things. " you mean that chocolate milk and muffin were more than 1/2 my daily calorie allowance for the day!!??" Counting calories teaches you what's good and what's not, and I recommend everyone who's trying to lose weight do it and stick to it. Record everything, even your slip ups.
. . . that's not a myth - it's pure truth . . I think what you're getting at is AFTER the weight loss - to KEEP it off . . . you need something you can sustain.
I think you have the right intentions, but the accuracy of the information isn't totally correct. Some calories are much worse than others - correct. If people go off a calorie deficit and go onto a surplus, they'll gain weight back - correct. I don't agree with low fat diets, like weightwatchers - they teach the body to use other sources of fuel than fat to fuel the body, so the body can't cope afterwards with a regular fat lifestyle later on. to lose weight - eat less move more . . .
It's a poor mindset going in. People tend not to be patient, and in an attempt to speed up the process increase their caloric deficit to points they can't maintain. What people ought to be doing is figuring out what level of caloric deficit they can easily maintain (via diet or exercise, or both). The reason diets fail isn't necessarily always a matter of willpower but simply biting off more than one can chew.
@Newman12341 Hey there...I totally understand your comment, that's what I used to think too, but after working with tons of women. I can see it's not that simple. While some woman do great on that model others begin to suffer from severe PMS, heart trouble, anxiety. When we count calories and do not look at the quality or type of the food we can slow our metabolism and end up gaining the weight back...and it's all fat no muscle.
