  • i would've stepped up to that marine who shoots those 2 jap soldiers, its inhumane, id shoot him

  • it's not because of ken, I've chosen this music because it contains some motifs from traditional Japanese music, at least resembles it. Letters from Iwo Jima shows Japanese perspective on the battle of the island and I thought that some lets call it 'oriental' music would be fine.

  • why the last samurai scene? i know ken wantanabe was in both movies but why?....

  • @HaggenPagan26 also the japs had severely underestimated the marines

  • @46spoony the ignorancy. is lik me tellin u ur a 2011 barbarian couse ur white n u suck dick.. nah bro.. it dont fuckin work lik that.. yea i dont agree with wat the japanese did.. but neither do i agree with wat the U.S. did either. so shut da fuck up.. every one makes mistakes

  • @46spoony I just can't understand the primitive guys like you...I don't know what are you doing on youtube...if you have any respect to human life and other nation you wouldn't post this comment...

    buddy...you should shame yourself

guys like you need to be "destroyed"...

  • @FRforcing

In 1937 the japs invaded the Chinese city of Nanking. They tortured, mutilated and murdered 10's of thousands of Chinese soldiers. They then raped and murdered thousands and thousands of Chinese girls and women. Some pregnant women had their fetuses cut out while they were still alive. The Japanese routinely tortured and murdered American soldiers who had surrendered in battle, sometimes beheading or disembowling them.

  • @46spoony I didn't said that I favour Jap's or that I agree with what they have done, no way...I just said that you can't, wathever sombody did to other, say that you would like to kill or destroy him...because you will just make things worst with that...

  • @46spoony yo bro I don't think Americans committed war crimes compared to Japs

  • @cOOLray13

yo bro I should smack you like a bitch dog shut the fuck up

  • @SapporoMagokoro are you saying that Japs(AKA your people) didn't commit war crimes? Such as rape of Nanking?

  • @cOOLray13

are you saying yours didn't? wikileaks son.

  • @SapporoMagokoro I am saying that United States did not commit great atrocities like yours, where Japanese army were beheading innocent people's head with ease, rape women and children like Japanese did. If you are going to deny this fact, I truly think you are brainwashed by your government who clearly doesn't show remorse for their sins of the past, which your government has been reluctant to apologize for what they did. Read your history book, and then come talk about American atrocities

  • @46spoony Not to mention... The US also committed many war crimes coming close to the Japanese and Germans, making relocation camps and spreading racist movements throughout the US. At times like these i feel a longing for the past, when people actually had common sense and respect for others. So get off your computer for once, and actually learn something decent.

  • @PipersThesis

The US actually did not commit "many war crimes" in WW2. Put "the rape of Nanking" in your web browser and get back to me.

  • The japanese may very well be the greatest soldiers the worlds ever seen... imagine facing an army that wasnt afraid of death....

  • the Zeros were amazing also...what a beautiful machine

  • I love the Japanese for their courage, innovative spirit, and most of all, hentai 8)

  • can someone please tell me what the song here is?

  • @FroodZarkin im pretty sure its from the soundtrack of the movie the last samurai but i am not positive, but the ending sounds just like the scene where Katsumoto and his warriors get cut down by the gattliing guns... in fact i am now 100 percent positive it is the same song

  • yeah just looked it up, i was right. its by Hans Zimmer

  • @FroodZarkin It's from the Pearl Harbor soundtrack

  • As an American, watching this movie was very moving and humbling. The Japanese fought with great courage, resolve, and remained steadfast despite a bleak horizon. It is demoralizing to see the destruction of the lives of young men--both Japanese and American--but heartening now to see the two countries prosper and enjoy a healthy relationship. May God bless Japan, the USA, and the soldiers that gave their lives for their respective countries.

  • @Thegreentide51 You are a great man

  • @Thegreentide51 your comment is very true and nice. Amen to that.

  • @Thegreentide51 word.

  • At 2:04, that is the Imperial Japanese Flag, the rising sun flag is the flag for the Imperial Japanese Army and Navy.

  • in that war, all you did was sit in a whole and shoot and hope you don't get bombed. That's scary shit

  • The damn music throws all that realistic ''feels like you're there'' thing out the window. And shouldnt it be an imperial rising sun flag at 2:04 instead of the red dot flag? That said, that is by far my favorite movie of all. Finally a respectful and humanizing view of the japanese side in ww2. The language in Japanese and lack of music (in the actual movie) really contributes to the immersion aspect. beside the flag thing, the movie stayed very true to history. Flags of our fathers sucked ass

  • don't foget that japan made the playstation!

  • You know come to think of it, you attacked me for giving you a minor correction. By arguing that I'm implicitly defending the victors because they were 'innocent ' when I never said anywhere in my statement that they were innocent. You were the first to bring up the subject of victors being innocent. Read your posts. Then you proceed to bullcrap me for that info. You cannot take correction even a small one for your ' conspiracy theories' which explains your rude responses. Now enjoy :D

  • Lastly, before you claim I dont know anything about MAI LAI. That was in the Vietnam War. The subject is the WW2 generation. Not only do you go off tangent to support your claims but you also resort to rude insults and that's why I called you one back.

But I won't waste time anymore for real. Enjoy arguing with yourself.

  • and by the way, I'm done arguing with someone trying to pull his cranium out of his nether regions. Have fun drinking with Al-Quaeda and other Western haters.

I'm done period. I should have never bothered. But you can continue arguing with yourself. Bye.

  • You are an idiot who prefers to resort to attacks after I've given you rational responses. I said that no one's saying victors aren't innocent! and I'm not a kid, dumbass. Look at my age on my channel.

And by the way Wikipedia is not an accurate information for historical information. I don't get my info from there unlike you do.

  • @brb941 , Idiot read your history, the us government knew the attack on pearl harbor was eminent the first shot fired was from a destroyer of the us navy and sank a japanese mini sub.

  • @2010THEDRAGON

Lol. I gotta side with him, sorry. The US never knew they were gonna be attacked on PH. Sec. Cordell Hull was in negotiations still with some Japanese envoys up until that Dec 7, 1941. He received msg of the attack at about the same time the last Jap msg arrived. That report about the US destroyer you're citing never made it to PH also it was mislabeled as spotted not sank a sub. Pearl Harbor was a trajedy that could have been avoided if not for bad communication.

  • @charizu20 , Is that why the first shot fire was fired by a us destroyer against a Japanese mini sub trying to enter Pearl Harbor. Please go and do more reaserch. May I ask why did the Japanese attack Pearl Harbor anyway ?

  • @2010THEDRAGON

    Ok i will bite:

Japan was colonising Southeast asia. They wanted the US Pacific fleet based in Pearl Harbor which was based to be crippled momentarily at best so there litle resistance. As we all know, China and Philippines fell easily because they were not enough defenders and taken by surprise.

  • We think the americans got it bad in this battle? The Japanese lost less because there were more americans then japanese on the Island.

  • @whythewar1 There were more americans than japanese in all the Pacific battles.

  • @whythewar1 The Japanese had "less casualties" but their dead were around 18000 while the American dead numbered 7000.

  • @whythewar1 ''The Japanese lost less because there were more americans then japanese on the Island.'' the japanese lost more. not less. look at the official numbers.

  • The section where the American shoots those two unarmed Japanese is really moving, sad and ironic. I'm American and a lot of the people i know see our soldiers in WWII as patriotic heroes fighting for freedom and democracy incapable of doing any wrong. Its sad these people cannot possibly conceive such things from an opposing perspective, or even admit that their side has done wrong.

  • @thugugbob

same thing with the Japanese. I don't have anything against them today. But you prbly don't know some of them have the audacity to declare the Nanking massacre, Bataan Death March etc. as pure fiction.

  • @charizu20 I didn't know that. Thanks for enlightening me. I mean, I understand that they see their own soldiers as heroes which is completely natural. But to deny Nankind and Baatan? Wow, thats stunning.

  • @charizu20 , War is hell. The victor is always soo inocent. lol!! The allies did thier share of war crimes the diffrent is they won.

  • @2010THEDRAGON

Also Yes. That was the first shot by a US destroyer. They spotted the Jap sub and sank it. As I've already told you,the report did not get to headquarters and the comm officer thought it should read spotted a sub not sank a sub and changed the report.

I can tell you more but...

I'm not wasting anymore time. DON'T EVER CHALLENGE ME AGAIN TO DO MORE RESEARCH CAUSE I STUDIED WW2 TWICE! IN MY US AND PHILIPPINE EDUCATION.

  • @2010THEDRAGON

Who said that the victors are innocent?! You're the only one who said that!

  • @charizu20 , When was the last time you heard the USA hanged a soldier who had commited crimes against humanity? Do me a favor go on wikipedia and look up ' MAI LAI " incident and get back with me. Get lost uyour just a stupid kid.

  • @brb941 I didn't say I was there

  • What music is this?

  • @CiceroCrane from the movie

    the last samurai

  • @en10 Thanks!

  • @CiceroCrane np :D

  • After watching flags of our fathers and comparing it makes you realize that nobody really wins in war

  • @TheGermanFist, Yes, the Soviets were brutal just as the Nazis were brutal to many Soviet POWs & civilians. There were acts of humanity by soldiers on both sides though. I can imagine what was done because it is well documented & I have spoken with German etc. veterans & also served in our military with WWII USA veterans.

  • @TheGermanFist , What are you asking me such an ignorant question for? I never stated it was a crime to kill enemy soldiers in battle, but it is a crime to massacare them when they have surrendered, although this occurs on varying scales & troops of all nations do it. Are you retarded?

  • Japanese were terrible to Asia. Killed 30 million people in just one day and one city! How many more cities died in vain? This movie does not make me sympathize but hate on the japs even more. Even Tae Guk Ki: Brotherhood is a better movie than this.

  • @SaiKCL2

the official number is about 20-30 million during all their occupation, from where are you taking these numbers?

I know they did terrible crimes, but exagerating facts to cover the crimes that chinese, usa or others countries were doing at the same time is not good.

  • Awesome vid. What was the name of the soundtrack at 1.57

  • you should first watch flag of our fathers and then two letters of iwo jima!

  • Everyone has this misconception that the Japanese are honourable. They are not (at least not to the enemy), which is why they are such good fighters. They forced America into using the most destructive weapon ever created upon them. Twice. Later versions of these bombs have the capacity to end the modern world.

  • levcio, You're a stupid idiot. The Japanese didn't have much honr in WWII as they butchered 11,000 USA & Filipino POWs during the Batan Death March, raped & slaughtered over 200,000 Chinese in Nanjing (Nanking) in ~4-days or so, & killed ~15-mil. Chinese, ~1-mil. Filipinos, & ~5-mil. Indonesians, Vietnamese, Laotians, Cambodians, Burmese, Malayans, etc.

You don't want honor is my Polish friend. BTW, I am of Polish descent & from the USA. get your facts straight you idiot.

  • No wonder they call it the rape of Nanking, I hate war

  • Japanese were people of honors... American`s never have it...

  • W dupie byles, gowno widziales.

  • to dalej sztandar chwały ?

  • nie po prostu niektóre sceny są umieszczone w obu filmach

  • reason i hate americans : 4:42 - 4:59

  • you english?

  • im chinese born in UK soo 80% british 20% chinese

  • aa i see

  • sorry buddy thats war

  • then you should really be hating everyone. There's no country that hasn't done it

  • @remen3

Oh big deal, he shot a Jap. That was the task at hand. Take the island with the airfield and shoot anything that moves. The Japanese lived by the Bushido Code of "Death before Dishonor" so you couldn't trust them if they were really trying to surrender. They could have a grenade in their sleeves or some shit. What a piss poor reason to hate Americans.

  • @TheZimpiko28Project lol stfu i hate americans etc cuz they say chinky ettccccc

  • @remen3

    Wow, that was mature.

  • @TheZimpiko28Project lol i was only jokin nub

  • @remen3, Your stupid comment is the reason people in general hate idiots like yourself.

  • dude some parts are from flags from our fathers

  • this part wich you think are in both movies :)

  • Nice video, best parts, and the music fits very well :) 5/5!

  • That was huge luck Japanese do not understand, they were brainwashed by their lame education after war. Think about be taken by US in south and Russia in north, and US and Russian had prepared to use chemical and bio upon the left japanese berserkers if the nuke did not work out. It was true, Trumen was unlike Roosevelt, the later one denounce the chemical warfare but Trumen was less morally bounded and ordered to prepare chemical

  • awesome vid, i cant wait 2 get this for christmas

  • both sides bad? thats stupid! the yanks did save the goddamn europeans and asia by defeating the axis forces , calling americans bad?

  • i know this is old but if you read about this stuff you will find that americans did things to japanese like mutalation as did the japanese... im american btw

  • ehm no why people always blame the americans? those people are so fucking stupid..

  • i think sometimes Killing civilian, is part of the agresors tactics.. even Americans did that, like when they attack the Philippines, the English did that, every agresor did that.. Its a tactic to stop rebellion, to spread fear. It doesnt matter how many has been abused, hundreds or millions, only one purpose, to spread fear... but ofcourse, it's the worst tactic ever! terminating civilians... but sometimes, its no tactic, some soldier is just undisciplined... i hope it never happen again...

  • But you cant blame everybody in Japan. It was the military who did that, not the civil people. but lets end this and we can be friends. to day both countrys rocks :P

  • and dvsgmr i have seen the platoon movie. its good

  • thats bullshit! the americans bombed thousends of japaneese civilians! did the japaneese bombed america? NO! they maby bombed pearl harbor but thats not 2 citys! and maby japan taked over a bit of china, but that was not as many as in japan! but i am happy you didnt protect USA in vietnam. but i think the americans shuold think first then do there job!

  • Japanes asked for it when they assaulted Pearl Harbor. and for christ sake, it was a WAR. The cities were bombed on the WHOLE WORLD. Dressen, Warsaw, London. I fail to see how is your argument such as "japanese didnt bombed the cities" valid.

  • omg the americans think like this: oh no they bombed pearl harbor now we have to bomb them! shit...

  • pal, it was the only option, if us army would invade the japan itself, the war would end in...like 1950 and the casualties would be DAMN bigger ! Check some facts before spewing your pacifist shit ! I ain't no war monger/lover but reading stuff like this makes me puke. and I am not american by the way

  • no, much sooner than 1950s. The Trumen has negotiated with Stalin and Russian were ready to wipe through Asia if nuke plan failed. Japan would face the real war beast from north who had no moral doctrine and gave a shit to death toll. I would thought half of the nation been shot by NKVD

  • I would attempt to argue the validity of the actions taken by the US Government in WW2... but I would rather just ask...

What significance did Sweden play in WW2? Right... None. You stayed neutral and sold iron to both sides, and let Germany use your railways so that they could invade Norway. You took no part in WW2, and therefore have no voice in what events took place. As far as I am concerned, you abandoned your neighbors and deserve nothing but shame.

  • oh shit can i help the nazis liked sweden? we had nothing to do with them. they passed to sweden to get metal to guns! they comed to norway with boats and there they landed in norway! and the nazis passed many countries to get thru!

  • Royal house had connection with NAZI. They sold resource to trade their independance. Like Spain and Swiss, a pro-reich neutral land. In Europe countris only three fates waited: occupation, coorporation by giving resource, or by giving troops

  • no you idiot America had no choice Japan was a huge threat to Asia taking over China, Korea, Philippine Islands, and planing on doing a full invasion on U.S. ground after pearl harbor if America didnt invade them first and we Atom bombed them because they were still refusing to surender and would have caused millions more deaths for USA and Japan :P

  • @WolfhoundMercenary every bomb that was dropped could never amount to what an atomic bomb does.

  • @inuyasha4889 And your point is? I don't remember talking about atomic bombs.

  • @WolfhoundMercenary my bad wrong person

  • LOL the japs deserved every last single civilian casualty, dont forget what they did to the civilians in china and all the other countries they invaded. And who gives a shit if they bombed them? its war there are no rules.

  • there can be rules in war! i know its sounds weird but its true. but i know the japaneese were bad but wasnt the americans it?

  • well there are rules

  • you are an idiot the japs asked for it by attacking pearl harbor

  • they bombared China, Korea, Philipine, Vietnam. Do you think civillian from these nations dont count the death toll? That is not a bit of CHina, with japanese puppet governors, all but hinterland were taken by Japanese. My grand was once a rich ruby merchant, but Japanese soldiers robbed our house, took away all of our wealth, shot the servant and burnt the house down! I would had have the wealth to buy the entire youtube, thanks to Japanese!!!

  • ye i know but watch the fucking movie idiot! the american is going to shot a afraid japaneese who are trying to surrender! i know japaneese killed americans with that but americans bombed with fucking atombombs in japan! try to answer that ur morron!

  • Kolego VooDooMadMan masz 100 % rację !

Film "Listy z Ivo Jimy " to naprawdę wysokiej półki film wojenny . Polecam wszystkim ! 5 oczywiście ;)

A możesz powiedziec jakiego podkladu użyłeś ?

  • Podkłady są z filmu "Ostatni Samuraj" ale ich tytułów nie pamiętam :D

  • Poor japanese soldiers at the ending.

    They were innocent too :/

Stupid americans.. even if it is war.

  • The US soldiers in this video were too merciful. Japanese were treating their prisoners much worse.

  • Yes Japanese were treating prisoners like slaves even animals they were very brutal.

  • @WolfhoundMercenary Americans deserve it.

  • @BigMek456 Says who? Says a guy that has some mental issue with Allies(I saw your channel)? Your pathethic.

  • @WolfhoundMercenary Yep, but even some US servicemen said they would shoot surrendering and wounded Japanese..SOME admitted through fear, others didnt. It was a fight to the finish on both sides, the Japanese had the spirit of Yamato the code to never surrender. The Americans, British, Malaysian saw this and fought equally as hard it was a 'different war' than europe. Greetings from the IJA reenactment front in UK.

  • you are fucking stupid dude

  • poor japaneese. :( monster american !

  • thth bullshit 1 dirty japaneesse there the one who tourtured the prisoners !

  • impressive man just impressive

  • co to za muzyka ? baaardzo mi się podoba :)

  • A senseless war

  • @Olivander12 How was it a senseless war. Japan and Germany were trying to create large empires in asia and europe. Both were also commiting attrocties against local populations.

WW2 is a perfect example of war being the only soloution.
