  • Seriously....the best thing to do is to have someone measure your body.....

  • I really like the clothes from rebecca turbow!

  • we English do not speak like john.

  • I can get expert tailored shirts for $50. High grade cotton. It's not that expensive.

  • @rfwelsh That's how much I make in a day after taxes. This is for people who don't have that same degree of disposable income.

  • @rfwelsh I'd be all over that for $50 if i could only find a place like that where i live!

  • This iPad/iPhone app might help: Smart Cutter, it gets the maximum number of small pieces cut from a larger sheet of paper with minimum scrape. I think it may be related to your work.

  • YOU GUYS ARE SO FREAKING COOOOOOOOOLLLL :)

  • JEAN PAUL NICE SHIRT BRO

  • I used to work at Macy's and have a bunch of my old black dress shirts. They are all very baggy and ugly. But, thanks to this brief and easy tutorial, I was able to use the pin and sew method to turn them into something stylish that i can actually wear. thanks a bunch!

  • god damn that's why i look like I have a muffin top all the time .....

  • except you now have a hideous visible seam on the outside of your shirt.

  • @killingallthefish thats why you sew it on the inside?

  • Like this video. well done. Please, could you do some for skirts as well. I have some skirts that I really need to reduce the sizes. Instead of buying a whole new skirts. I am new to sewing and just got myself a Singer 1507. Please help. Skirts from next.co.uk

    Thanking you in advance

  • HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! SHE DID HOLD UP TWO FINGERS WHEN SHE SAID THREE!!!!!!

  • how you make a duct tape thong.thanks?

  • She hold up two fingers and said put on three layers. Dumb.

  • HUGH GRANT?!

  • I like rebeccaturbow <3

  • hey could you tell my wife that this kind of bullshit is still a womans job

    ? thanks :)

  • haha! was that a picture of a sweatshop?!

  • AWESOME but can you show how to make stuff that is more goth and punk?? that would be soo cool!!!

  • AAAHH! Finally a use for all my old uniform oxfords from high school!

  • she said three layers but she got two fingers up.

  • I loved the pinch and pin technique and making one's own body form - fantacular!

  • she said put on 3 layers but she put up 3 fingers lol

  • How about tailoring an old boxy leather jacket into a more fitted version? Any tutorials about that?

  • how to measure the size . later googgoodschina will upload an video . just click my my account .. more videos will be uploaded later.

  • Very good idea

  • Bra or no bra?

  • awesome. im gonna try to tailor this pullover i got

  • would this work if i tried it with pants?

  • what if the shoulders are too broad? how can you adjust it to make them narrower?

  • Excellent video guys. I loved the body form.by anda lewis.

My little cousin is in high school right now but she wants to go to a magnet school for fashion design, I want to give her alot of motivation & a good start. Unfortunately I am a broke college student, she has no money & I really dont want her to give up on this. She needs things that will help her to become a great designer, thats why I loved the body form so much, any more ideas like that? What was used to stand that thing anyways?

  • OMG thanks sooo much! Im quite small for my age and I can never get clothes to fit my budy because i have large arms and chest but not much length, so could i get a longer shirt and turn it inwards using this method? <3

  • this info is useful for those who don't know how to cut the clothes, like me,,,,,,,,hehehehehe,,,,,,,,,

  • I need to find a professional seamstress to help me with 4 to 5 of my dress designs. If anyone knows of one please let me know!

I live in the Los Angeles area.

    Thanks!

  • the armholes will be in the wrong place. This method will make a shirt that, while looking nice in the torso, will be very uncomfortable in the arms.

  • LOL JOHN PAUL SEAN PAUK

  • ya'll are awesome!!!

  • If you make a duct tape dummy it will turn out smoother if you use pieces that are about six inches long. Also do one more layer up and down for a really smooth look.

  • THANK YOU! The info in the beginning is very helpful.

  • Do you guys know how this would apply to a jacket/blazer? im sewing some blazers and I have to make them smaller. instead of only one side seam like shirts, these jackets have 2 side seams that intersect with the armhole, and the sleeve is made up of 2 pieces and also has 2 seams. Im thinking that I could first make the alterations to the body of the jacket and then try sewing the sleeve slighty smaller around the armpit area to make it fit. Would this work, is is there anything else i can do?

  • For the pinch and pin method, what would be the best type of sewing stitch for a shirt like the one at 1:09? Zig Zag? Straight? Does it not matter?

  • @antpop1 Straight.

  • Awesome, this was just what I was looking for. Really well done video.

  • Yeah.. ur awesome!

  • Oh my Gracious God, you are awesome! I am subscribing immediately. Utterly, utterly thrilled with you!

  • could you do this while wearing like jeans or sweats so that you could use it to make like pant, shorts, or skirts

  • thx soo much, this is awsome!

  • HEY everyone! PLEASE SEARCH THE THREAdbanger bodyform vid!! itS wayyyy better than a duct tape dress form

  • that is such a smart idea for the dress form!

  • She says put on three layers, but she holds up two fingers... lol cool vid..

  • lol she does!

  • just go to THAILAND... everything is tailored really really well

  • "JUST" ? Not so simple or inexpensive if you ask me....

  • true... but i wasn't emphasizing the "just."

  • did he still have his facial hair on?

  • what would be the procedure for tailoring a pair of jeans? Would you pin around the outer leg and the inner leg as well? I have a hard time finding a pair of jeans that fit well

  • I generally pin the inseam, so I don't have to mess with the waistband. Be careful around the crotch area, because too much tailoring can lead to weird thing happening in that area, and you look like you have a penis. Which, if you have one, should not be a problem :)

  • Comment removed

  • very helpful thank you =]

  • do you stuff the torso once you're finished?

  • yea

  • 1:36 r u guys italian??

  • I have some dress shirts I want to wear casually (i.e. un-tucked)... anyone have any tips on how to shorten the overall shirt length?

  • for the body form, is that bra less, or no? i would really like to know, cuz i need ot make one.

  • Good question! IT is the regular under wear you will be wearing everyday with the clothes you make. :-)

  • Well, if you do decide to wear a bra while being duct taped, make sure your friend doesn't cut it (unless it's one you were going to throw away). I don't see how it would be a problem, though.

  • Jjust made the body mould, really gud. They didnt mention it in the clip but dont under estimate how much tape you will need. I'm a 6 ft man consider my self smaller build I have a 40" chest, 32" waist, no belly. I used 30m per layer!!! Make sure you get enough tape other wise it will be an embarrassing trip to the DIY store. I Packed my mould with two shoe boxes in a T shape inside and newspaper! FYI dont get your gf doing it she will only take pictures and but them on facebook!

  • @Rich588 you could have worn a sweater over it... lol

  • Can you show how can a woman talior a man's shirt into a shirt for a woman? Meaning it should be fit over the breast while not being baggy in the abs.

  • pich and pinch

    darts

    buy a new shirt

  • @12quillemall5321 YES! I'm obsessed with flannel shirts and the mens flannels are the best colors. I need to take in the shoulders and torso but I don't know how!

  • @12quillemall5321 I think you can use the same process- it'll just be less pinched at the breasts.

  • @12quillemall5321 You'd have to add darts..

  • cool vid, my vid response is pretty sweet too, but you have yet to approve it. ={P

  • It's all so inventive! I love it.

  • I love this body form method!!

    Much easier!!

    I think I'm gonna try it ^^

  • Love the duct tape form BUT I would like to take it a step further and cover it with something that I can pin into without enlarging the form size. What do you suggest? Just plain cotton jersey is too thin. Wool or wool felt would be nice but requires more tailoring than I know how to make uness I glue it together patchwork style. What do you think? Any ideas? Help????

  • Try Spandex

    You Dont Need An

    Exact Fit Like Felt

    Because It Stretches

    And Its Pinnable

    If Its Moderately Thick

  • otteaux

    FUCK U

can u stop believe that shit?

  • O.O i love her boots!!!

  • i if i want a pretty good tailored suit, i get my measurements from a really good tailor, and ask for the measurements.

and i have in the past have the measurements sent to Singapore to be made in shops (probably sweatshops) for a fraction of the price.

    and with some great patterns.

  • takes a long time though.

  • The last one i had made took about 8 or 9 weeks. but for the cost it was well worth it...

it cost me about £80. for the 3 piece suit. though the waist coat and jacket was made by them, and the trousers, and for that price, and the quality is good.

    BARGAIN thats what i say.

  • but wouldn't the shipping alone take up a lot of money?

  • No its about 6 pounds for packaging.

but like i said, it does take about 9 weeks, and considering thats the posttimes thats pretty good.

  • Very cool idea.

For all you viewers, is it just me or did anyone else see the girl with the body form say three layers and put out only two fingers? 2:13

    lol =]

  • HAHA! nice catch

  • Thanks for the vid. Pinch and pin, pinch and pin, pinch and pin. :)

  • I really like that duck tape idea, pretty spiffy alright, i think ill try that soon (:

  • the duct tape idea is great!

  • definitely! much cheaper than buying manikins ;3

  • Thank you thank you thank you for the duct tape idea! U just saved me a lot of money.

  • Oh man!!! this hi-tech guy "suran" is a Sri Lankan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he s from SRI LANKA - d small island in d indian ocean.. n so am I.

    Way 2go dude! v r proud of u!

  • thanks for the ducktape dip that is gr8!!! could you stuff it with news paper?

  • no offence, but the girl with the bun is SO annoying! all she ever does on htese is nod then put in with her hand movements at the end to try nd sell there website...jeez...

  • How do you sew a yoke on...please help, I am lost!!

  • Iron City!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • cool tip...I have a 18" neck...and a trim body and all my shirts are too big.

  • this is really cool..i never thought of fixing my shirts like that..and the body form is soo cool.

  • i like Rebecca's necklace... did she made that also??

  • I love Threadbanger!

  • cool i love the duct tape bodyform.. I have to try that. Although my husband may leave me all taped up..

  • good tips! :D

  • Hey Corinne & Rob, I just stumbled upon you guys and I dig your video. I've been sewing since I was 13, and I just love the idea about the duct tape personal dress form.

  • You saved my life by watching this video. I was about to go to Banana Republic, get fitted, and spend thousands on a new wardrobe. Now I can modify all my existing shirts to fit perfectly. I'm very excited to try this.

  • @salmonz well, any luck? Send us a update!

  • I wanna do this to all my old shirts. Beats going to a tailor.

But I'll have to borrow a sewing machine.

  • 2:07 looks like a great outfit. I'm going to do that!

Also, I saw this guy with a messenger bag MADE ENTIRELY OUT OF DUCT TAPE. Hope you guys have a how to on that. I wonder if he covered an old bag with duct tape, or if it was actually made from duct tape alone. Please let me know if you guys find anything!

  • What do you stuff it with

  • I made one a few years ago and I just used crumpled up old newspapers.

  • Oh okay thanks

  • This duct tape form is a great idea...But does it stay all floppy? I am just wondering how to make it stand up more solid- like a regular form.

  • well it is simpleu use a lot of foam

  • u could stuff it very taught full of old newspapers or anything ud other wise throw out really thats close almost to fabric

  • Thanks grimreper076 & PhyscoZombieChickie for your replies! :-)

  • its no prob :) i hope it helps!

  • Rebecca has the shoes I have been looking for for so long. BLahh where did she get them :[

  • rebecca is gorgeous..

  • Hehe! Wow! I'm gna make a me mannequin!

  • would pinch and pin work with a large t-shirt also?

  • Absolutely! Just be careful, if you make in to tight you can't get it on and off.

  • the problem with duct tape body molds is that you can't stick pins in them, because

    a) they would come out all sticky from the glue

b)they wouldn't stick, ductape is too thick

also, the bodyform won't be exact.

  • i'm so excited to make my own body form! that's the best idea i've ever seen! thanks!

  • Absolutely fabulous!

  • pinky tailor bangkok

  • Boob area...

  • really really GOOD!!!! I LOVE REBECCA!

  • Love the idea of making a self body mold. Duct take ROCKS.

  • WOW...someone likes green...

  • wouldent a long fitted shirt work better on the maniken?

  • no because if its accadentaly too fitted then it wouldn't be a proper size.

  • Awesome!!!

  • they're not william sledd wannabes. william sledd talks about what to wear, and how to wear it. thread banger talks about making your own clothes, or anything else DIY. theyre totally different.

  • Rebecca Turbow is so mod and awesome!! and rather beautiful as well.

  • Does anyone have a step by step video of actually taking in a shirt (including sleeves)?

  • man how she get a job like that i wont some thing like wat rebecca turbow has shes successful

  • Does pinch&pin work for jeans too?

  • i think so... except i think it wouldn't work if you were doing something with pockets on the side?

  • hmm maybe have to pinch from between the legs if there's pockets on the outside

  • Yes. Pinch-n-pin works for Lots of things. The trick is to make sure the ankle isn't so skinny that you can't get your jeans off! X-D That happened to me once when my mom pegged my jeans into skinny jeans for me way back in 1987. Whoops! I totally got stuck for about an hour!

  • For jeans, do I still use the same pinch and pin technique?

  • I made one of those duct tape dress forms a few years ago. Two tips:

You might not want to wear a bra when you're making one...when we were cutting it off of me, the person helping me accidentally cut through my bra as well!

Recycle plastic grocery bags for stuffing the dress form. They work great for this and you can put them to good use!

  • Thanks for the tips!

  • this is great! I'll have to make one now :D

  • Omg! I LOVED this episode! It is exactly what I asked you guys a few weeks ago! haha, thanks so much!

  • Hey Anda!

    Nice Body :P

  • "I got another good use for duct tape!!" bahahahaha! I love ThreadBanger so much.

My gramma did the pinch n pin technique quite often (she did bridal alterations). It's surprisingly simple but effective!

  • Very fun!!

  • Would newspaper work as stuffing?

  • i love the tshirt idea. i like that new 'trend' for girls to wear those plaid button down shirts..but idk where to get em. so ill just go buy a guy one and fit it myself. awesome. lol & that self-maniquin thing. more awesome. :D

  • that dress form situation is wonderful! i must make one.now.

  • I don't get it!

What's this got to do with Paris Hilton?

    "Bring Iraqi Families Home"

  • everything !

  • wonderful! I already do the pinch-pin bit, but the torso idea is GRAND!

  • BRILLIANT!!! Love the video.....

  • That pinch and pin technique is gonna keep me busy all summer.

  • what do you stuff the torso with?

  • Stuffing :) You can buy stuffing at a craftstore, but it does get a little pricy for big projects. If you don't want to buy stuffing use old clothes, towels, etc that aren't usable for scraps in other projects.

  • This is the third time I have tried to watch this. Is it taking forever to load for other people?? I keep watching the white circle going around and around.....

  • did anyone else notice that Anda held up two fingers and said three?(2:10) hehe i'm guilty of that sometimes. ^-^

  • WHOA! 0_o you're right! I never would have noticed that on my own!

  • I am forever in your debt. I have been searching around for decent (cheap) body forms FOREVER! I am totally going make a bodyform tonight!

  • ooh, very informative. Thanks!

  • Yess, i'd also like to know how to make your schoobag more.. interesting and different :)

  • ..but I love my baggy clothes =( lol xD

  • i love the channel guys!
