Is Kenjitsu meant to be performed this way? I mean there is a lot of wasteful movement in what I see, a significant amplitude of motion. I practice western swordplay, and I realize that the katana's balanced otherwise than a longsword, but I still get the impression, that there should me some more thrift in motion.
the backswing almost touches the back, this is bad because usually during a battle you don't want any friendly fire. accidently poking your coworker in battle.
axkxdx that attention needs to be placed on how you guys move. Your When you cut try to generate the power from your hips, move with you feet planted and consistant pace and height (unless you dropping to your knees)
Is this an actual Waza of your style or is it a warm up posture practice kata ???
I don't agree with the habit of nearly striking one's own bottom when doing shomen, but I absolutly disagree with the final slice 0:23. You stand with a hollow back your chest is wide open, and your are on your tipptoe, sorry but a gust of wind can blow you away. This is definedly out of korrect bodystructure.
they must be iaito(katana with no edge), you can't use a reverse edge katana because when you withdraw the sword's "back" makes contact with your hand(0:05) if those katanas had a reverse edge they would have sliced their left hands...
cool video

You are very lucky to have so many practitioners in your dojo. I would kill to have this many students.

The kata looks virtually identical to shodan no kata with a few exceptions. What style is this?

Thank you for your comments.
Yes, this are our warming up moves.

hahaha i thought so...
cause it looked relatively similar to a posture practice technique we practice at our Dojo.

Who's your teachers teacher, I would ask him for help on your posture. If there is no own high rank to ask, then keep up the practice.
