man, in Fogerty's rendition of this classic .. can't you just feel an early morning sunrise .. sitting across the prison table in the prison camp ... food across the table .. dreaming of the midnight special .. freedom ... he's got a power .. imagery in that voice that transcends all cultures .. mindblowing ... reaches down into the core of your being .. The man as been a constant backdrop, influencing our culture and media .. Rock on John !

I was at this show. Willie Nelson was the opener. This song was the suprise of his set...I was not expecting to hear it, and it rocked.

My band does this. I have always loved it ever since the opening to Twilight Zone The Movie. Was it a Zone or an Outer Limits anyway? I'm going to post my bands version as a video response. Great song. CCR style.

You were right. It was Twilight Zone and everytime I hear this song I think about that in the movie with Dan Akroyd the hitchhiker, "Wanna see something real scary?" and then BBLLLAAAHHH!!!! that part isn't as scary as it was though, but it made me shit my pants as a kid.
