The fact is, the majority of christian is intolerant, sexist, homophobic and frequently shows flawed logic in their thinking. And I fail to understand the analogy between iPod and living organisms. Does an iPod evolve, reproduce or able to external stimuli? Does the power of natural selection and mutation apply to iPods?

Take quick glance at the history : Galileo was imprisoned by the Catholic church for his heliocentric theory. Thousands of women were burnt by priests in Europe to eliminate witchcraft. Homosexuals were stoned to death. Right now in America, fundamentalist christians are forcing the government to incorporate creationism in their high school curricula. The list goes on. And all these things stem from two things : the bible and christian ignorance. So, do you still think god is full of "love"?

It is a concept built by medieval pseudo-scientists to explain biological processes that were hard to explain, such as conciousness, vegetative-brain state, and so on. Now in the 21st century, with sophisticated techniques, neurologists have proven that our brains are simply a bunch of neurons doing biochemical and electrical reactions. When your brain stops working, you simply die. That's it. No hell, no heaven.

@trystjc FYI, today, a LOT of "tweaking" can be done to our brain. You can inject neurotransmitter to one's brain or pass a weak electric current, and you will see a sudden change of mood/ personality. In the case of single cell, actually since three years ago scientists have been able to build a complete VIRUS from scratch. Of course, virus is not considered a full-organism, but the progress is ongoing towards building a simple prokaryotes from scratch.
