I got it a little while ago. Haven't used other lances in MH3 but this one seems pretty strong - the normal stab is approx. as strong as a yellow-charge attack from a Rare3 LS (judging from killing random trash in Moga).

It's weird the sharks just disappear. Even in the US demo they fade out.

you need to use the FIshing Spear when they have low health so they dont run when they die
