  • such style! so cool!

  • .thank you for this.....

  • Great collection - but were we that bad at parking in the 60's?

  • 2:30 beautiful czechoslovak Skoda Octavia Combi

  • Wonderful memories. A lot of those backgrounds were familiar to this Edinburgh lad. Broughton and Arthur's Seat especially, but the Forth Bridge was the most obvious!

  • can learners drive classic cars or are they too old?

  • Fantastic! I love seeing older cars in age related photos and settings. Classic car shows today are great but everything is immaculate. I grew up surrounded by these vehicles and witnessed them from launch to scrapyard so this is just how I remember them. If youtube awarded prizes then this video would surely deserve one. Well done.

  • R.I.P RUST IN PEACE. Im a 1954 model and my 1st car was a 61 Anglia.

I then, in the late 70s to 1995 had a string of MINI garages and made LOADS doing welding, but now, how often do you see a rusty car, HOW QUEER.

Nostalgia isnt what it used to be.

  • @deliow no, D, is a thing of the past but being there was good...........

  • Well finally made me realise my age, could name almost every single car, frightening!

  • @tileajb1 thought I had sent that!!

  • Love these old commercials - such class. Nobody soaping up a car half naked eating a burger

  • this is really really nice! well done! its a credit 2 u!

  • this video was putting me to sleep until 1:04..... damnit

  • My grandad had a Mk1 Cortina and a Sunbeam Rapier. My dad had a Triumph Spitfire. I would love a Vauxhall Victor FD (Or a Rover SD-1, perhaps a tad late though :) )

Isn't it strange how everything looks dated, but alot more robust and almost optimistic than the same structures today?

  • Great photos. Nostalgia isnt what it used to be. I used to buy these cars for £10.00 and weigh them in for scrap in Deptford, SE London and get around £40 quid.

These photos are mainly of SCOTTISH cars judging by the number plates ??

    Cheers Del, Isle of Wight

  • WHAT A GREAT VIDEO I ALSO OWNED A FEW IN THE FILM MY FAVOURITE BEING MY SUNBEAM RAPIER MK 4 ALSO HAD A WOLSEY 1660, ANGLIA MY FIRST CAR, MKI CORTINA, SUNBEAM IMP SPORT, SINGER GAZELLE,THANKS FOR A GREAT NOSTALGIC LOOK BACK

  • Brings back memoriers of cars i have owned. My first one being a ford consul mk 1 in 1960. Nice pictures Megasteamengine

  • very nice vid, most of them i know some on there that made me think other that are very VERY rare to see on our roads now-a-days, only comming out to go to show

  • How did that 1954 Buick Super get there? It's a long way from Flint, Michigan to London....also nice to see the '65 Mustang representing on the roads of Britain.... the '64 Galaxie ragtop was a surprise too...

  • @BobWXXI Also noticed one German, one French and one Italian in there too. there is a subtle difference in wording between the title on the actual film and the heading. Remember them all well - tons of rust held together by paint!

  • With the first several thousand Minis they got their sums wrong and lost lots of money on every vehicle. Ah the good old British motor Industry. My first car was a Mini. £200 from a local old lady. 90% rust. Youd go to jail for driving that now! Every car since then has been German...

  • greenman I had a 1970 H reg vitesse convertable in trafalgar blue - it was stolen from outside the garage where it was being serviced in 1984 - never found loved that car RUX 567 H

  • No Jowett cars

  • Nice vid

  • all that rust

  • Had a Sunbeam Rapier MkIII and a Ford Corsair GT, but why no Triumph Vitesse Mk II, I had one of those too. Why on earth did I sell it...

  • dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum

  • My first car was a 1960 Ford Consul. What else can I say? - thanks

  • My Dad had many cars back then but the best one I remember was his Singer Vogue lovley car, 4 door, walnut dashoard, and front bench seat. He was atraveeling salesman and had a Morris 1000 which did thousands of miles in all weathers. Built to last, economical and reliable...which is what everyone wants today..right? Not much has changed, except the style of car

  • I hate 60's cars!!

60's cars are round and ugly like todays cars

    1980's box cars forever

    I am gonna buy a Volvo 343

  • @DoReMiForever . Not really , the 50s were round, the true 60s cars became angular and sharp.....true tho, they were not like 80s boxes! Get a 360 its a better engine, if you can find a survivor !

  • Magic stuff! I was born in Edinburgh in 1957 and my father had a small garage, selling new cars and doing repairs etc., so for me looking at these photos is like stepping back into my childhood....

At 1.49, you show Annandale Motors, I remember sitting outside there in Dad's car while he was discussing business inside (he used to buy and sell used cars from them).

I am writing this on a hot day in Hong Kong in 2010, but thanks to you I have gone back down memory lane!

  • Great! The one at 2:32 is Czech Skoda Octavia Combi :-)

  • ANNEGADEGAARDFAN.....Obviously not into cars.. these cars are classics, cars of today are just toasters on wheels, please let me know what you think is cool then, hate to think what????

  • great cars ,great music !

  • ugly cars

  • These great pictures seem to be from in and around Edinburgh. Is there a story behind this collection?

  • This vid is amazing, looking at those cars brings back a lot of memories as many of them were still on the roads when I was a kid. I have been wanting to know about that tune that is played at 1:04 in the vid. I remember that too but I can't remember what the song is called or who played it. Could someone please put me out of my misery and tell me?!!! Thanks.

  • It's Time Is Tight by Booker T. & The MGs

  • @MetalliNick1993, hey thanks a lot my friend. Rieann47 was also kind enough to tell me that too. I am so grateful because I've been trying to find out about that tune for so long now. I remember I had it on tape but lost it. But the tune always stayed in my head. And when I tried asking people if they knew what the tune was, I had to hum it to them. Everyone recognised it but no one could tell me what it was called or who the artist was. I'm so glad I have found out now! :)

  • Owned some fantastic cars 1958 Ford Consul , Ford consul 375 1964-5 ( I think)

Ford Zodiac 1963 ( the best car I had great for girl friends as they all that great big from bench seat ) Also in those years a Standard 12 ( 1946) Vauxhall Wyvern only problem with the Vauxhall it had holes in the floor and one side of the rear suspension fixed with DEXION SHELVING

  • @paulchip2003 yes the rear suspension used to come up through the seat, my Velox did on way back from RAF Locking during NS.....

  • Yeah, had some of these including the baby Jag. None as thrilling to drive as the Hammond Tonewheel Electronic Organ and Leslie Cabinet on your sound track though! Always wanted a Ford Consul 375. Could never afford one as a teenager though.

  • this is pure Nost, great..

  • owned an Anglia, Rapier, Viva and a Mini shown in your clip, back in 70's when they were current!
