can everyone stop saying that cameras cant release their shutter with out a lens on? it only has to be on the 'M' setting and it will release the shutter. this is for non cpu lenses that the camera doesn't even know are attached.
@LEXPIX have to use AAs for the 8fps [or the d3 battery pack but i heard people are annoyed with the converter you need for the d3 battery... the grip plus the same battery you use in your d700 will only get you 5 or 6 fps?
May i say simply that anybody who complains about Dust in these videos is ignorant. The sensors can be cleaned and you need to realize it is the owners camera. The cameras can be handled properly no matter what.
@Ciulas1991 The speed increase works only in D300, D300s and D700. You need 8 AA-batteries to get 8 FPS or EN-EL4a battery. D90 doesn't get more FPS with grib.
@Fotosidan The D40-D5000 has a setting in the firmware to stop the user from being able to release the shutter without a lens. It's supposed to stop the possibility of getting dust in the sensor or damaging while cleaning.
@MegaAfroGuy yes it does have "sensor cleaning." But it only works in fantasy land since my D700 appears to have some dust in the sensor already after 3 months of use and 5000+ pics later. All that so called sensor cleaning does is vibrate the sensor for a split second. it does not clean the sensor effectively. sorry.
@rsx2 haha well this guys gonna have a problem, unless theres a shop that can clean censors but i doubt it, my olympus' censor cleaning is more or less effective about 2000 exposures in
Why in the world does the MB-D10 make the shutter shoot faster? There is nothing Physical to make it so? Is this a gimmick to just over inflate the price on the D10? It seems to me it just tells it to shoot faster, like some software built in.
never thought of that, thanks. Does that mean batteries die a bit faster? Not really a big thing for me since I click at 1 shot repose click another. I was just wondering.
does shooting at 8fps drain your batteries more? and about how many shots can you take at both 5 and 8fps until the buffer fills? also, can you shoot at these framerates in raw too?
8fps does drain the batt more -- one can take 100 frames at 8fps, regardless of they type [raw (12/14 bit, lossless/lossy) or jpg/tiff]. You don't get more than 100 at 5fps (not that it's a negative), the buffer is huge.
Its obvious that there are plenty of people that dont understand the point of this video. Save your breath. I'm glad that you at least you made it clear to them.
agreed...that battery grip is pretty cool. only difference is the D3 can shoot at 11 fps...which I cannot think of a time where I need to jack it up that high...
The D3's 11fps is in DX mode (using APS-C size frame, like the D40 to D300, & only 5MP of res -- hopefully not a common scenario) -- in FX mode a.k.a. "Full Frame" the D3 shoots up to 9fps, only 1fps faster than the D700 w/ MB-D10 + the much more powerful EL4e battery: Re: **Prophit7's** question, this is Nikon's best battery & far surpasses a standard EL3e's ability to deliver power. It's mechanical work, not software/gimmicks. 4e's last much longer (2500 pics)
But i wouldn't ask you to understand why, since you can't even use a proper language. So you will just be sitting ther wondering why and i'll just sit here smiling at you.
@Fotosidan I think he was pulling you up on it because you are essentially asking for trouble. If you simply have the camera switched on with no lens the sensors is charged; charged sensor means dust is attracted to it. I can only imagine how much flew in when you pulled this stunt, haha.
But seriously, it's not the end of the world and he was a douche about it anyway.
How is the D700? I am buying one and I am stupidly excited, lol.
@dotspace77 : Well, I am a professional shooter and writer.. So i knew exactly what i was doing, i also have both wet and dry cleaning sets. On another point.. This is not even my camera, it's a loan from Nikon. I use the Nikon D3. This was made as an comparison to the D3 in a review i wrote.
The D700 is a great camera, next version vill be even greater ;)
the camera helps quite a bit despite what people say. to somebody who does not study photography a picture taken with one camera as opposed to another would be all their untrained eye needs to determine what the "better" photograph is.
The only factor that will affect the photo is the lens, not the camera. Even then, that's only barely 1%, the 99% oh what makes a photo good being the photographer and his/her grasp of technique etc. Film cameras count even less because they don't have their own individual sensors, use the same film on different cameras and the only difference would be the lens quality.
I've seen people take amazing photos even with D40s/400Ds and cheap 18-55mm kit lenses.
Is wrong to get excited to hear that sound.

Hey could you tell me, why the camera is faster(frames per second) with grip?
U need two batteries inside to achieve that?
And do this work with third party grips?
I'm also curious if for example nikon d90 will be faster with grip?
please answer :)
thanks :)

Because the D700 has a relatively small buffer (say compared to a Canon 1D MkIII) and he hit the end of it.

LOL, idiot. the mk3 has a smaller buffer than the D3/D700
the buffer capacity of the mk3's compare to the D80/D200
about 50shots before it slows down.
TRUST ME i shoot runway all the fucking time
and yeah there's still cocky canon shooters, they shut up when they see my D3 and 700 but yeah
now there's the new 5D mk2 guys, they stll can't compete shit
