Over a year ago i adopted a sweet podenco girl from spain. No visible wounds, but she is hurt, for sure.

She is still afraid of people she doesn't know. Thank god she's safe now.

My heart goes out to all the podenco's and galgo's who still have to suffer.....

Thank to the rescuers for saving these dogs but we really need to torture those behind this madness. It is unfortunate to see what people will do to for money whether it is fighting or racing these beautiful innocent animals.

Sorry to burst your bubble, Fringe111... Florida is the state in the U.S. with the most greyhound racetracks (16!). Many greyhounds who are "disposed of", either for not making the grade or when they slow down, have their ears cut off, (so that their remains cannot be linked back to their owners), and they are let loose in the swamps to feed the alligators... There is abuse on those gentle creatures EVERYWHERE!! There is GREED EVERYWHERE! As long as racing continues, the abuse will continue too!

I know of no one other breed of dog more brutalized by man than the Greyhound/Galgo.

Much like the Pit Bull, they struggle to survive in a world where they are seen only as a commodity -- used up and tossed out when they no longer can perform.

Such a powerful, upsetting video but one that needs to be shown. We rescued a galgo last weekend that had lots of infected gunshot wounds to his body but he came up to us with his tail wagging. What trust! What an example to human kind! I am glad to report that his wounds are healing nicely and he has the most gentle nature. It is an honour to look after any galgo that comes into our care. I just wish we could help more. Thank you Ken for doing so much to help these beautiful dogs.

All EU member states must work together to stop the EU funding for Irish bred greyhounds.

Over 13,600 greyhound puppies were culled in Ireland last year - the majority of the rest were exported to the UK for racing or to Spain to breed galgos. THIS MUST STOP.
