  • What a judoka! A great man who has done a lot for judo!

  • much respect to a great champion.

  • et bas c du sport CA!

  • ... Et alors ??? (and so ???)

  • Shota Chochishvili (GEO) vs Yasuhiro Yamashita (JPN) Shota WINS !!!

  • Watched him throw for ippon once in competition with one knee so badly injured he could barely walk on it. His technique is one of the greatest expressions of the art there has ever been.

  • Expliqué comme ça, c'est clair

  • Name one or post a link.. You say its nonsense but its true

  • randy couture.

  • @silverbackjim Marcelo Garcia, Anderson Silva, Any Gracie, Lyoto Machida, Bas Rutten...

  • There isn't a MMA or BJJ player alive who would have this many people come to a seminar..

  • nonsense.

  • While I think yasuhiro is awesome, i do think some BJJers could possibly pull as large a crowd. Marcello Garcia, definately could. Possibly leo veiaira could as well. BJ Penn could pull a big crowd. Roger Gracie? Possibly. Rickson Gracie certainly. Not saying that to take anything away from Yamashita who is everything you say he is, a super Judoka.

  • I do admire all of those fighters you have mentioned and have attended some of their seminars, but I should give you an idea of how big a sport Judo is compared to BJJ.

Judo is the most participated Olympic sport. IJF is the third largest sport body behind soccer and chess.

While BJJ players are gaining popularity its just not possible for them to gain exposure like an olympic champion. Over 190 countries have entered Judo and all of them would know Yamashita.

  • Not to mention more people practice Judo in Brasil then practice Jiu jitsu.

  • @Godsmasher22

People in his home country treat him like a national hero and will consider it an honor to train with him or even eat with him never mind letting him stay the night at their house.

I highly down the people you have said would ever be so lucky in the countrys they come from.

  • Yasuhiro Yamashita is perhaps the best judoka who has ever lived. he has a winning streak of around 190 wins, and 90% of them is by ippon (equivalent to a knockout in boxing). while that is impressive, it basically means that he was considered invinsible for 7 years. You did not wonder if he was gonna win, just, how long it would take him to win. I believe people should keep this in mind before they start talking. This guy is bigger in Judo, than Muhammed Ali ever was, in boxing.

  • 203 wins, to be exact. He's a 9 times Japanese National champion, 3 times world champion, and an Olympic champion. Yes, he IS the BEST Judoka, ever!

  • Thanks :)

  • david doulliet.

  • Beautiful, Perfect, Judo!

  • Some would say there will always be room for improvement :) But yeah that's really good technical stuff.

  • ...poor child. If you only knew.

  • the fat guy (as you said) is one of the greatest judo champion. You just see you nose in this comment : you've to understand what is the really signification of the projection.

  • yeah "LandesJudo" sed

if u knew anything about judo u wud no that

  • He was giving a demonstration, you twat! I should know, I was there to see it.

  • It isnt stupid and he isnt slamming him he is using/ demonstrating principles and techniques to teach people.

Moves fast for a guy who is 128 kilo or there abouts?

If he wanted to slam someone he could do.

Take part in competition with someone in judo and call them fat.

I think they might test your ability to break fall and with stand the collision when they land on top of you.

Just be sure to video it and post it in here

  • He throws hard.

  • the greatest.

  • woooo he is faster then sound!!!, thats why you hear the sound after the action !!!!

  • hahaha!

  • Is he naturally left handed or does he just like to throw that way?

  • He is naturally left handed but the way he teach techniques is the same in right handed position.

  • In his book on osotogari Yamashita says that he was naturally right handed, but his high school coach made him change to left as it would be harder for his opponents.

  • he's way too big for any of them, and also way too strong as well, and his technique even better on top of it

  • And not just a young Yamashita would kick their ass, but on top would teach them some real champion humility

  • do you realize what this guy could to the gracies?

  • LOL! Since most of the Gracie family arent as big as him. He'll just sit on them when they take him to the ground. Hmm but seriously a match between Yamashita and Rickson would be out of this world. Of course the match has to have rules tweaked and adapted with both BJJ and Judo rules.

  • Yoshi!!!

  • ça c un vrai champion

  • Of course! But.. :))) ... In this clip,the real secrets are in min. 07:21 and 09:16 !! :))
