laxattack260, good observation, but i think that the slip up might have been from a faulty guitarthat threw him, and not dave himself, because as soon as he recovers, he gets new guitar, which tells me there was something fucked up with it

It was pretty much a mistake on his part, but it's possible the guitar was slippery.

It's a string that popped. At 2:54 you can see it come off the guitar and and it appears up on his chest. He popped a string and swapped out guitars... No big deal...
